The hotel was both charming and comfortable. For the most part all of the staff spoke great English since our German is not the best. The breakfast offered included all the food and more that we could hope for. All of the activities we wanted to do were within reasonable driving distance. In the evenings we enjoyed walking to the lakes to see the beautiful scenery.

It’s not that we didn’t like this, but the rooms are a bit antiquated and smelled like a summer camp. Neither of these details were necessarily bad, but they were noticeable. One thing that we would have appreciated would be if the hotel staff let us know we should book in at the restaurant attached. We went one night but they didn’t have a table so we had to drive elsewhere and hope somewhere else was open at 21:00 and still serving food.

Despite being an aging sports hotel (a lot of the furnishings looked like they remembered the 90s), the hotel was perfectly clean. Nature around the hotel is incredible: The see is beautiful and the adjoining Isar valley is breathtaking. Breakfast was excellent.

A look at the map promises a hotel surrounded on three sides by a gorgeous Alpine see, and it is. Sadly as far as I can tell, no part of the hotel has a view of the see, there is a thick strip of greenery separating the two on all sides. Access from the hotel to the see is awkward, and involves following an impromptu footpath trodden by other guests along the main road for a bit. The restaurant has a nice exterior terrace, but sadly the terrace is oriented towards the main road. The bike/ski storage room is in a cellar down a narrow flight of stairs (was not an issue for me with my lightweight bike, but it might present a challenge to elderly people trying to store their heavy electric bikes).

The hotel was spotless, with comfortable rooms. The selection at breakfast was excellent, as was the dinner we had on our first night. It was great to have an elevator to get our heavy suitcases upstairs. It's a great place for a small seminar or conference, or for people who want to hike.

We didn't realize that the hotel was almost an hour away on a private road from Mittenwald. We spent two hours of our day in Mittenwald driving back and forth. It was a beautiful ride, however.

A lovely rural hotel with quiet rooms set around lawns. Nice restaurant with outdoor terrace and delicious menu. 2-3 minutes walk across the main road to Sylvensteinersee, where you can walk or swim.

The location was superb. Short walk to the lake and the trails. Surrounded by big mountains and much less crowded than some of the other scenic locations in Bavaria

Actually I really enjoyed. Very friendly staff, tasty food and actually most valuable - the atmosphere of coziness.

We had the junior suite, which was very large with a huge balcony. Since we had to spend a lot of time indoors because of the weather this was a great room choice. The breakfast was also good. We also ate in the restaurant each evening and I can recommend the buffet they serve. It changes each evening, so it does not get boring. They have a variance of meat, fish and veggies. For pure Vegetarians who eat no fish it might be overpriced, but if you also eat fish and / or meat then it's good value for money. They also have a la carte meals and here you also have three vegetarian dishes. Also a big plus: the hotel is pet friendly, so we could bring our dog.

Some of the interior feels a bit dated.

They have lovely new curtains but they didn’t shut light out!

Location. Staff. Restaurant. Booked the hotel at last minute. Turned out to be an awesome experience. The hotel is just few meters away from the lake/river. Drive to hotel is scenic. Late checkin until 9pm was an advantage. Although dinner menu is limited, The breakfast was eloborate and delicious.
