This is an old house, restaured with respect to the original building and with a high sense of contemporary design. The surrounding traditional garden is a delight. We stayed in a lovely room on the 1st floor of the main house, ideal for visitors from abroad with many bags or suitcases; the long room, small sitting room and large bathroom were faithful to photos and descriptions and overall, beautifully designed. As often, the bedside lights are not made for avid readers of books. Mind that the parking lot (and they are rare and precious in Dazaifu !) is a 3 mn walk from the reception. We were very well received and there was always somebody to help or talk to. The breakfast was superb, not to be missed. Location right on Dazaifu Tenmangu's side entrance makes it a perfect choice for visiting early or late, when there is hardly any visitors. Checking out at 12 is an added bonus, so you can spend more time on site.

It's nice to be able to experience a Japanese home indirectly. The staff at Japanese hotels are generally friendly, but the staff at this hotel are very friendly. Checking in at the table instead of the front desk is also great. It's also a great experience to be able to drink tea in the tatami room of the hotel room. In particular, the breakfast is very good. The food ingredients are also very good, and it's nice to enjoy a meal while looking at the beautiful garden. I have been in this hotel before two months ago and come to it again. I'd like to stay in this next time, too.

We didn't expect what we got. A nicely and tastefully refurbished old house, and every room is different. The inside of each room gave you a modern comfort feeling while the look from the outside made you felt like going back centuries. Highly recommended. The breakfast was excellent. It seemed like the dinner option was western style hence we didn't take it, may be we should have!

No public bath ! It would be prefect if they have an open air Onsen.

It is very near the tourist destinations in dazaifu. The room is very traditional and huge. The bathroom was pristine!

The rooms are immediately beside the road so it can be really hard to sleep. there is also a steep stairs to climb to the room which was unsafe for children. They also could not accommodate an early check-in. Needed to wait exactly until 3pm before we can enter our room.

You feel in japan with a level more comfort dan average. The staff is very friendly and helpfull.

The rooms are away feom the dining area. You have to walk in the street and quiet close to the cars to attend the restaurant. The staff’s english is not very very smooth.

Hospitality, attentiveness, and location.

Traffic noise could be heard but there are ways to compensate it. Free drinks and good service.
