The back door will take you straight to the lovely Spiaggia Di Scilla, making this B&B ideal for a beach vacation. Just a short walk to the historic Chianalea area with its waterfront restaurants. Beautiful terrace. Excellent breakfast with lots of options, including eggs, yoghurt and fresh cornetti. Nailed all the basics: clean, comfortable, well maintained.

The parking is free on the street, but it can be hard to find a spot. Thankfully, the parking lot for the train station is very close by. The young people playing soccer on the beach were too noisy to keep the windows open at night, but that's no fault of the B&B.

I had a wonderful stay at La Filanda. The location was perfect. Two-minute walk to the train station and one minute to the beach. I was able to take day trips to Tropea and Reggio Calabria. The B&B was very clean. The room I had was very large and comfortable and the shower was large. I am a solo female traveler and felt very safe at the location. I was able to walk along the beach in the evening and was very comfortable. There are many restaurants nearby to walk as well. Breakfast was simple, but perfect for me. The hosts were very kind. I plan to return to this location on my next trip to Southern Italy.

I cannot think of one thing that I did not like about La Filanda.

Paolo was very nice, give us some good advice about the area, and communicated very well. The room itself was nice and large, and very clean. Just outside our own little private balcony, we had access to a much larger balcony that was very nice, and has a view of the sea. Although I think it was shared between other rooms, we were always the only ones there, so it was a great spot to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. Scilla is not large so we felt we saw it pretty well in one day. We walked over through the tunnel to the older side with the narrow alleyways, but we actually preferred the larger beach side. The B&B is right next to the beach and has very easy access. We did bring our towels and laid out at the beach for a bit, but weren't quite brave enough to go into the water, which is still a little chilly. Paolo laid out a nice breakfast in the downstairs area, but I think we were still full from dinner the night before. In the morning, you do hear some of the other guests getting up and moving about, but that's to be expected and didn't bother us. We came by train, and the train station is only about a 2 to 3 minute walk away from the station.

Lovely little place in a great location. It's just a 2 minute walk to a beautiful beach. There are lots of good restaurants within a 5 minute walk as well. Nice, simple breakfast. Kind staff. We will definitely come back to this gorgeous town and B&B. While there is no specific parking, we had no problem getting a spot right in front of the hotel.

It's a lot of stairs, so if you struggle with stairs, maybe not the best place for you. (two floors down for breakfast) There are no grocery stores near the B&B so plan accordingly with water/snacks. There are plenty of restaurants though.

Facilities and staff were amazing. Clean, well maintained. Everything was perfect. The host were in constant communication. The beach was directly behind the facility. Rooftop terrace, washing machine, cooking area etc. Refrigerator in room. AC worked perfectly, facility was very modern and up to date. Host was there to help with luggage. There was sufficient restuarants on beach, views from terrace were very nice.

There is no parking at facility but there is parking on streets and around corner along beach front.

Easy-going, no-fuss hosts. Ease and speed of communication with hosts. Close and convenient access to the beach. Great location. Generous breakfast. Communal terrace. Spacious rooms. We turned the air con off, as we could open the windows and still be protected from mosquitoes thanks to the screens.

This is a small thing, but it negatively impacted my first impressions of the state of the room when walking in - the bedspreads were old and faded; they didn't appear fresh. Everything else, sheets, towels, etc., obviously was. I flung it off the bed immediately.

- Walking distance to beach, restaurants and bars - Powerful air conditioning which became handy during the warmer days. Even when it’s turned off and you’re out for the day, you can still come back to a cooled down room - Delicious breakfast - Staff were attentive and quick to respond to any queries

- Not close to the only ATM in Scilla (out of their control), which is up hill on the other side of town. Bring quite a bit of cash to spend at the local bars and restaurants as they only take cash and not card

Very good place for seaside rest. Close to beach. Very pleasant staff comfortable room, good breakfast.

The cons do not depend on the staff and are more related to the location. Public parking can be full if you will come at weekend or from 12 to 18. Later in evening or earlier in morning there are no problems with parking places. You need to make quit long trip by foot to closest supermarket to buy something or will need to use car

Easy access to drive and park at front door. Almost on the beach. Great location to access restaurants, bars and beach. Nice walk to fishing village and walk through old section of town. The BnB is very tastefully renovated. It was so quiet and comfortable we overslept.

Amazing location. 2 minutes from the train station and 2 minutes from the beach. 😊Comfortable, spotlessly clean en-suite room, property throughout was meticulously clean and very welcoming. The host, Paolo texted me to enquire as to the time of my arrival and I was able to check-in immediately after arriving in Scilla. I particularly liked that it was a personal check-in and not a self-check-in system. The breakfast was a lovely mix of Italian and Continental including fresh fruit and yoghurts.
