Staff were absolute gems - very helpful, polite and offered some great advice for my travels. I was knackered after a long day of driving so ordered room service, which I am usually sceptical about. The food was absolutely incredible - best garlic naan I have ever tasted, and the curry was delicious. The room is also very modern for an inn, and easily the nicest inn I had stayed in during my East > West Coast roadtrip. Room had all the amenities you need for a comfortable stay. Good bed, clean bathroom, working fridge and parking right outside your secure, locked door. Window also had a secure roll down shield thing which was a beautiful touch of security for a female travelling solo!

I couldn't fault a single thing.

Reception was prompt and responsive to questions. The reception and dining are in a beautiful old stone building fully renovated. The dining was slightly Indian in origin but very good food and a full western menu. The accommodation units were modern and had all facilities. There is also a customer launderette building.

Nothing to do with the motel but alongside there is a construction site and Google maps could not navigate to the entrance; however, the entrance is there on a dirt road through the construction site.

After the initial shock of inadvertently rolling up to the wrong spot to check in, and being scowled at by a rather angry woman, the service was great. Had an amazing dinner, as usual, top service. Room was on the ground floor as I’d asked and tucked in a spot that I had hardly any road noise. Thanks guys. Just talk to the cranky woman at the front desk.

The cranky woman, who needs to know that most people checking in haven’t a clue where they should go, and will go to the nearest window.

Room was suitable for my needs

The food in the dining room is great but the service can be a little comedic at times. Having to wait and be seated at breakfast when the room is empty. Being handed a dinner menu at breakfast and have to wait to get a breakfast menu. Cup of tea taking as long to prepare as the cooked breakfast. Ordered room services for dinner and the person taking the order didn't know what was on the menu. To name a few....

I did like the size of the room. It was spacious and well organised. I felt we had everything we needed there. The water pressure for the shower was divine. I did enjoy my showers. The hotel did suprise us given we were not sure what to expect.

The bedding could be improved. There wasn't the hotel style of bedding, but what was there was nostalgic. That bedding reminded me of my childhood years i.e. the blue blankets with the silk lining.

I have stayed here many times. It is the best motel in Port Augusta. I rate it highly for the friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness, spaciousness and comfort of the rooms and the whole vibe of the place. The Indian restaurant is an absolute standout.

The only minor gripe is that it is a little out of the centre of town and a fraction more pricey than some. Who cares? You get what you pay for.

Indian food for supper was great in nice dining hall. Upgrade to rear room away from noisy highway was much appreciated. Room great.

Shame about Bunnings next door and having to negotiate cones, fences and hi vis workers just to get onto site. Shame about big gum tree cut down at back and amount of deadwood piled up spoiling rather average view of golf course

The motel is located in a good spot being away from the road, but with easy access to the highway. This is the second time we have stayed there in the last 10 years and the standard has remained the same. The restaurant is particularly good, particularly for Indian cuisine. Breakfast is also available as is room service. Highly recommend this hotel particularly if you are staying on a Sunday as there are not a lot of restaurants available on this night in Mt Gambier

If you love to play golf and have a clean, peaceful place to rest after - Standpipe Golf Motor Inn in Port Augusta should be your choice! Absolutely great experience from booking to check out! The staff at Standpipe Golf Motor Inn were very professional with us and answered to all our queries. There is adequate parking, very clean and neat rooms within a lovely area with trees and golf course. The lunch after our round of golf was an amazing Indian cuisine.

We had not a single complaint!

We've stayed here several times over the years, and I'd always go back. It's a very comfortable and pleasant nights stay there at the Standpipe.. We always choose to go into the Dining Room to have a Meal, we love the ambience, staff are friendly helpful and are efficient. The Food is excellent, especially their Indian Cuisine.
