The location was incredible and the view from our room and the balcony at night, with the sunset, was breathtaking. The room was very comfortable with air-conditioning and a nice bed. We had a glass of wine on the terrace with the sunset on the recommendation of the staff and it was one of the nicest glasses of red wine I had in Umbria - which is saying a lot! The staff at the check in desk were also very lovely and helpful.

The cost of the spa and the restaurant were a little high for paying guests so we didn't partake and instead went to eat elsewhere.

At this property, you are basically staying in your own private village. The views from the property were stunning and it was still within reasonable driving distances of Man beautiful villages and towns. The staff were very friendly and helpful and it was interesting to learn about the unique history of the place from them. Good, fresh quality breakfast with lots of options for those with special dietary requirements.

We wished we had spent a little extra for the rooms up in the castle. It wasn't clear from the pictures how stunning a location they were set in and they were not a great deal more money for the price increase. We liked our room in the monastery. It was well converted whilst keeping a sense of the authenticity of the building's origin. However, because it was so hot whilst we were there, we spent more time inside it than planned, we wished we had opted for a little more space and maybe a view! We will have to return!

The old convent was really beautiful so quiet and peaceful but is approximately 12 km from Spoleto in a remote mountainous location taxis are difficult to to get and are expensive each trip to and from the premises cost approximately 100 euro per trip The restaurant on site was amazing and food delicious , the views from the premises cost approximately were incredible and the sunsets spectacular, we are there to walk a few sections of the St Francis Camino and the accommodation was just off the route which was a bonus

The castle is positively stunning, and updated in every aspect. Just walking around the castle grounds is precious. I took so many photos of the beautiful buildings, and stunning views. Our villa in the castle was amazing as well. While very comfortable and cozy feeling, it was also large and we could really spread out. The kitchen is so large and very well stocked. It was a treat cooking on the beautiful, large gas stove. The bedroom made us feel like royalty and the bedding was very comfortable. The convent, now converted to lodging, check-in, breakfast area, restaurant, library/sitting area, and bar is all very nicely done. Breakfast is a lovely, included spread with specialty espressos, cappuccinos, fresh juices, and much more. This location is perfect. We walked down the mountain, into the beautiful countryside with olive orchard and vineyards. The nearby towns each have special character and we enjoyed walking every bit of each village.

The Junior Suite, located in the Medieval Castle, was impressive. It had natural lighting and a small outdoor garden. The castle is very quiet and a few steps away from the spa and massage area. Staff is very helpful, polite and professional and did their best to change room types.

The economy rooms are tiny and have little natural light. In the past, they were cells for nuns in a medieval monastery. The restaurant serving breakfast and dinner is in the monastery, and anyone staying in the castle has to walk down (approx. 250m) to the monastery.

Converted monastery so it is full of character. The restaurant was incredible - food of exceptional quality. It was too early in season to eat outside but excellent outside terrace with amazing views - will be spectacular in summer. The staff very friendly and helpful. I stayed there whilst walking the Via de Francesco as it is directly on the route.

Great experience staying in the converted nunnery - lots of reminders of its history. We had an excellent dinner in the restaurant and breakfast was also good. The hotel is very well furnished and the staff were very helpful.

The room was small…but that’s because it’s a nun’s cell!

The view from here is incredible - it is mind blowingly beautiful. The food was excellent. It’s an awesome historic building, with a fresco from the 1300s However after three weeks of a hotel after hotel across Spain and Italy was how utterly fabulous, welcoming, kind, skilled and friendly the staff were. Staying here was a delight, and our souls were renewed.

It’s an historic building, so the bathrooms were a bit pokey, and the beds weren’t that great - but with the view, the food, the location, the people, the buildings, that was inconsequential.

Wonderful place and the staff was fantastic. We stayed three nights. The dinner was excellent in the restaurant and breakfasts were great. Initial bed was uncomfortable and they upgraded us to a different room with much more comfortable bed at no additional charge! Beautiful views. I would recommend

A great location for us as it is on the St Francis Way which we were walking. Wonderful views, nice restaurant for the evening. Staff were very attentive. They made some light food for us, a ham and cheese panini, as we arrived at lunchtime.

One of us found their bed too firm.
