Taking the dirt road off Piet Retief was an absolute adventure. Testing driving skills dodging a few lil potholes made it even more exciting. Beautiful drive between forest views and oom Pieter was such a treat. A man of vision. We had Baardman giving us a private performance around the campfire and a delicious breakfast out on the deck. What a great unexpected beautiful place right next to the Swazi border. Will see you soon again. Im bringing my fishing rod this time.

A foot massage would have been nice hahaha. I barely complain because I can see and experience every place for its own uniqueness.

Privacy and being away from the noise and the city made this stay memorable to us as a family. I love to connect with nature and this property gave me that. I’m an outdoor person and I love real nature not “homemade” nature and Emahlatini gave us that

Only the peacock 🦚 and maybe a bit of upgrade on some few things but overall it’s Bush farm life so you can’t expect what you get in Dubai to be exactly the same as Bush farm life, what then will be the fun in it

Perfect for our overnight stay, surrounded by nature and fresh air. There is a dam for fishing. The animals were so friendly and playful. Owner was very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed.

Unfortunately the road on your way to the guest farm is not in a good condition. A fan would be perfect for each room, as the rooms were very hot.

The amazing views and friendly staff. Our room even had a jacuzzi. The owner is friendly and always available for your every need.

Everyone complains about the road, but if you are a 4x4 fan enthusiast, it a perfect place for you.

The staff was very friendly and the owner went out of his way to make our stay comfortable. The breakfast on Sunday was extremely good.

The roads leading to the property is horrible. Unless you drive a rather roundabout gravel road. The Tar road leading to the property is really bad. Unfortunately that is out of the owners hands.

Just 18 km from Piet Retief (Mkhondo) Guest Farm is situated in a valley beautiful scenery. Loved the farm pond caught some Bass and talapia great fun. Had friendly service from staff. Would recommend this place to family and friends.

Pieter was extremely friendly and we were warmly welcomed. The place has a peaceful, rustic charm to it and the roaming peacocks are a delight! The rooms are very comfortable and staff even came and lit the fire outside for us once the sun had gone down. We did a good walk along the border with Eswatini which had good views. Dinner and breakfast can be ordered in advance which is very convenient if you haven't brought provisions with you! Communicate with the Pieter in advance via What's App and he will give you excellent and vital directions to approach via the MacDonald's in Piet Retief. Best to arrive before dusk.

The location is excellent if you want to switch off from work and the excessive information bombardment. The breakfast was lovely and served with a smile. And I want to compliment Martha on her professional and friendly service. And - Pieter - baie dankie vir jou vriendelike ontvangs en die kuier ons het dit baie geniet.

As with most places off the beaten track, the road is not great, but if you follow Pieter's directions the bad piece is about 2 km long and not an issue.

· The breakfast was absolutely delicious! The location is breathtakingly beautiful as you are surrounded by nature. The owners provided us with alternative directions to the location. It is a bumpy road, but not too bad. A big thanks to the owners for decorating our room and patio with flowers and chocolates, as this was our honeymoon trip. It was such a pleasant surprise! We received great service and loved our stay at Emahlathini Guest Monkey Farm.
