This is a hidden gem. The hotel has been beautifully renovated. Our room was really comfortable and had everything we wanted. Spacious bathroom with an excellent, large shower and a roll top bath. (Bath salts provided!) The owner and the staff are charming and went the extra mile. Bonus: the hotel is situated on a working pecan nut farm and during harvest time it was educational and fun....and the nuts are delicious. Highly recommended!

The breakfast was amazing, complete and filling. I even got a nice vegetarian dish as I had requested. The location of the hotel is also ok. The hostess (Joanna) is an amazing host...keep it up!!! The rest of the staff are also superb, friendly and professional. The bedding was clean and fresh. The complementary water is superb and the add ons are also great.

The door to the bathroom had a squeaky irritating sound when opening and closing it. Closer maintenance must be done on doors even just oiling will help. The instructions on the expresso machine were not clear and hence i could not use and there was no contact number to ask or for any queries. There were no instructions on how to use the TV hence I tried to put it on and could not watch anything.

The Border Hotel is a gem. Really lovely and spacious rooms with all the extras one would expect from a top hotel anywhere in the world. Delicious meals and the included breakfast was great. Michelle even arranged for our motorbikes to be locked in the banquet hall for the night. Really excellent service. Many thanks Michelle.

The trucks passing on the main road can be a bit of a nuisance but that seemed to stop during the night.

The room was beautiful, luxurious and spacious. It was very clean and the attention to detail was impeccable. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The room had a beautiful view. The breakfast spread was delicious and they even brought it to the room upon request. I could not enjoy the other hotel amenities such as the restaurant and gentlemens club due to time but they were very beautiful and clean.

Nothing, everything was perfect.

Another stay at the fabulous Border Hotel, one of the finest hotels we have ever stayed in. Didn't think it could get any better but there were extra touches this time with bathrobes and slippers. From the super size room with seating and a balcony to the private dining in the library I can't think of anything that could be better. Cornelius (Kerneels) will look after you from your arrival to departure, carrying bags and serving dinner and breakfast. A lovely, lovely, man. If we ever get the chance again we will make it a priority to stay once more at the Border Hotel.

That we had to leave!

It is as advertised. Comfortable, clean, quiet, great facilities, good food, friendly and welcoming staff, well kept. I wish I had stayed longer.

My room was closest to the road. With every vehicle that passed, it was loud. I, however, managed to fall asleep without any struggle.

Very clean, very friendly staff, pets are welcome and conveniently located. Being able to take a stroll through the pecan plantation was an added bonus!

Nothing to dislike, although I’m sure the sound of traffic on the nearby road may disturb light sleepers.

staff is very friendly and helpful. after a long day of driving we were so happy to arrive at this beautiful hotel, nicely decorated and large rooms. There’s a restaurant with kitchen opened until 8:30pm on the site with a delicious menu to choose from. Sumptuous bathroom with a very good shower, clean rooms with a comfortable bed. It was a great place to rest on our trip from the south to the north of SA. The owner was also very kind and explained us the history of the hotel which used to be on the border.

it was all very good no remarks. If I’d know we would have stayed longer!

The rooms are big and comfortable, service fro the staff is amazing and the owner know how to make cleats feel at home and took us for a free tour into his macadamia nuts farm.

Parking area can be improved

Was clean, comfortable and they bring food to your room. They had enough towels, aircorns, WIFI, clean carpets

There’s no pool, its located in a generally hot area, a pool would be great
