Staying at RR Cottage was a hit, an excellent choice for our needs. To be honest, the hotel and the host exceeded our expectations. The hotel is intimate (only 4 cottages), with a beautiful garden and a swimming pool and loungers for relaxation. The owner takes care of every detail: there are extra towels for the pool, a good scooter can be rented on site, she helps arrange a ferry to or from the island and arranges a cab to get to the hotel, which is about a 20-minute drive from the port. The hotel is some distance from the town which means you have to drive to the store. Literally 50 meters from the hotel is a nice warung and there are several within a few minutes by scooter, with really delicious local food. What's more, nearby you can also find a small spa where, for little money, you can relax with a pleasant Balinese massage after a day of sightseeing.

The only thing that may disturb the rest of sensitive people is the fact that the doors open by moving the door leaves to the sides, which means that they cannot be closed completely tight from the surroundings. For this reason, small insects and geckos may enter the room. There's probably nothing we can do about it and it wasn't bothersome for us in any way, I'm only mentioning it so that no one will be disappointed.

We stayed there only for 2 nights and regret not staying for longer. The biggest asset of this place is the owner – it is run by a family and they are the friendliest people we have EVER met. They booked the speedboat for us (both ways), organised a massage for my wife at 10 pm (without any notice) and always supported us with an advice. Breakfasts are super tasty and big, you can explore for the whole day after eating it! RR Cottage is incredibly clean, tidy and neat, the place is beautiful with a nice pool, a lot of flowers and incredible Balinese atmosphere. It is not a commercial hotel but a true experience. Oh and there is an adorable doggo there! Location is perfect for the trips as most interesting places are in south-west part of the island (only Diamond Beach is on the east side but it took us about 60 minutes to reach it by motorbike). At the end, it is an incredible value for money, we could not recall anything like RR Cottage. We loved it and highly recommend it, we would not look for anything else on Nusa Penida!

Ayu, the owner, is wonderful and super friendly. She welcomes you with a big smile. The pool is really nice and the whole guesthouse area is green and they take care about it. The rooms were big and clean. You can find restaurants (warungs) nearby and its easy to reach all spot with a scooter which you can rent.

The bathroom could be renovated as well the rooms could have a little makeover. A mosquito net would be helpful because there are many mosquitos around. For more sustainability it could be nice if they dont serve the small water bottles instead of the refillsystem what they have :)

Our stay at this villa was simply perfect. From the moment we arrived, we felt at home thanks to the incredible hospitality of the host, who was truly an angel. Not only did she welcome us with unmatched warmth, but she also helped us arrange all our transportation and activities, making our experience in Nusa Penida even more special and stress-free. The accommodation itself is a true paradise. The facilities are impeccable, with all the amenities one could wish for, and the surroundings are simply breathtaking. Absolutely everything- please stay here if you come to Nusa Penida! The hosts are so kind and caring. The room was spotlessly clean every day with fresh towels each morning. The breakfast was delicious every day and the stay was perfect. The hosts were so kind and helped us to organise taxis to the port and also laundry. I cannot recommend this place enough, the best place I’ve stayed on my trip so far- thank you!! An extra thank you to the lovely dog for keeping us entertained every day

Our stay here was nothing short of amazing. The place was clean, and the hosts went above and beyond to make us feel at home. They even helped us order food delivery, which was a lifesaver on those nights we just wanted to relax. One night, when I fell ill, the lady of the house made me a soothing tea, showing such genuine care and concern. They also assisted us in contacting our driver, which made our outings seamless. The highlight of our stay was when I accidentally left my wedding ring at a beach club. In the middle of the night, the gentleman of the house hopped on his motorcycle to retrieve it for me. I can’t express how grateful I am for their kindness and dedication! We will never forget their hospitality and the lengths they went to rescue my wedding ring at such late hours. Our stay here for 3 nights was very comfortable. There are 4 bungalows near the swimming pool. We lived in the second one. The room is big, the bed is cozy, even we have wardrobe and tv. The atmosphere is quiet and relaxing. We did massage near the pool. Aleksandra is very hospitable, attentive and ready to improve your staying. She solves all your problems. There is a lovely DJ Warung near RR Cottage. Dinners are perfect. There is a big choice of very tasty dishes, fresh juices. The hostess is very friendly and the best cooker. We would like to return here once again to RR Cottage and DJ Warung. Thank you for remarkable experience.

There are were few mosquitoes.

- good location for trips with the scooter - small but nice breakfast, not as on the pictures - food, massage and trips can be booked directly at the property (but can take a while) - nice pool - Amel the dogs welcomes everyone on the property

- there were ongoing construction works in front of the pool, this will be the case for longer period, as they are building a new property - breakfast can take a long time depending when the other guests order

Ayuk is a perfect host and really went out of her way to help me. The scooter I rented for 75k per day was good and no problems. Ayuk arranged a massage for me at the pool for 100k - it was very good. She also called several people when I couldn’t find a taxi during a ceremony and got me a good price. Very good host! The location is good to visit different parts of the island and 2 good restaurants within a few minutes walk. I would recommend this stay 100%.

The power went out on my last night and I struggled to sleep as no A/C and I was sick but this was not the resort’s fault and I understand is a rarity.

We loved so many things about this property, it really surprised us. Things we loved: 1. The lovely staff and two ladies whom we met during our stay. The owner/manager and the head of house keeping, they were both so welcoming, friendly, helpful and kind. They really made the stay fantastic. 2. We loved that there was someone on the property 24/7 so if we needed help with anything, also that we could communicate via what’s app. This really made us feel safe and also that we were not alone. The location is a 15minute ride from the harbour or main area, so it was nice to be able to have contact with our host. 3. We liked that the room had a small fridge / mini bar fridge in it, this makes all the difference, especially on hot days where you need to keep your water cold and some fresh fruits and items. The humidity in Indonesia can be really high, so keeping food in the fridge is a must. 4. The garden is amazing, so many beautiful butterflies and birds. We were amazed at how many different butterflies we saw here. One morning we just sat outside for about an hour watching all the butterflies, incredible. 5. We love the little dog on the property, she is beautiful, loving and smart. 6. Breakfast was included in our stay, and they did their best to accommodate us as we’re vegan and plant based. I liked that my morning noodles were a little but spices and full of flavour. 7. Swimming towels can be provided which we loved, it meant we didn’t have to wet our shower towels and that we always had dry towels. This was really nice as the humidity on the island can make things take a long time to dry. We loved the swimming towels. We felt safe here, the room was clean, and there is a Warung that serves local and western food, literally across the road. We love their fresh orange juice and dragon fruit juice.

The flies can be intense sometimes, this isn’t anyones fault - it’s nature, especially with the humidity. We only had a fly issue one morning, the rest of the time we were okay. You do need a scooter to get to and from this property, we do have scooters so that made it easy for us. The aircon above the bed in our room, this is something we wish accommodations wouldn’t do, the aircon above the bed is so bad for health and I did start having some chest problems after that, so always good to not put aircon above bed. This property is amazing, and we loved almost everything, we even wanted to extend and we may return soon for another stay. One of my top suggestions on the island - and we’ve looked at a lot of places, so far this is one of the best. 🌟🌟🌟
