Had a bit of challenge re access via messenger/ getting door codes. It's not easy if you are not on Aus phone network! But lucky we arrived in time to speak with a person in the old reception. Rooms were fine with adjacent parking down side road.

Shame old part of original building not in use as hotel, lounge, bar or accommodation. From the photos, you have an impression that you are staying in a historical premises.

We spent just one night at the York Palace, and were delighted with the accommodation. Nola and Richard were warm, friendly and extremely helpful hosts - it was a pleasure to meet them. We stayed in one of the heritage rooms and it was spacious, clean and very comfortable, with a lovely balcony looking out into the town. We would have been very happy to stay longer, and York is a charming little town, with lots to see and explore.

The location could not have been better with an easy walk down the street to nearby eateries and shops. The room was very spacious with a comfy sofa and the decor was very nice. The bathroom was very spacious and clean and provided all the amenities we needed.

Unfortunately, as a disabled person and senior person I found the bed too high to get into and the mattress quite hard and uncomfortable for me. However, I did enjoy the serenity of the place and there were no steps to climb as we could park in front of our unit and I was able to use my scooter to explore the town from there which was truly a bonus and made my husband and my stay all the more enjoyable.

We were in town for a wedding, and after having our original planned accommodation cancelled, we booked at The York Palace. I'm so glad it turned out this way as our stay was fantastic. Our room was incredibly comfortable and had more amenities than we needed. Saul was willing to accommodate our needs, and we were welcomed by Courtney. Both were lovely. I would rebook there again in a heartbeat and will do if the need ever arises.

Great location within walking distance of dining options, the river and shops. Plenty of parking and good-sized rooms.

The admin lady at check-in was a little intense but friendly after repeatedly informing us she did indeed send the access code. It didn't't matter if she had sent the code the issue was that I didn't have it and all three phone numbers for the hotel (booking.com, and on the physical building) were disconnected. If we hadn't headed into the antique shop as it was closing I am unsure how we would've got in contact. Great place, stay there but message to the owners - please update your contact numbers!!

The location close to the Main Street. The beds were very comfortable. The walk in, large shower was great for my 84 year old Mother. Plenty of ammenities. Extra pillows. Easy entrance with lockbox. Plenty of off street parking.

We liked everything about it.

Centrally located with good off street parking. Room was spacious, clean and quiet (there,was hardly anyone else there). I stayed in the Terrace Rooms.

The shower stayed warm for approximately 5 mins. It was cold the rest of the time.

Everything was clean, bed was comfortable, bathroom was large, enough seating areas, fridge, kettle. Lock box for key. Parking good just outside the unit. Staff kept in touch re how to access unit but you dont have physical contact with anyone

We stayed in the Lord Forrest Suite which was very spacious! Lovely heritage room. Clean and comfortable. We were able to check in early and shown to our room which was nice. If we ever find ourselves back in York we would definitely stay here again

A repeat visit to the York Pace. We stayed again in one of terrace rooms at the rear of the hotel. The rooms are clean and spacious. It’s a king bed and the bathroom is also very large. Staff were friendly and helpful and we appreciated the easy contactless check in with friendly text updates from the manager, Nola.

Lighting was a little dim for reading and playing cards but otherwise fine.
