The staff were very friendly and helpful. The owner Penelope and all her staff were great at making us feel welcome and valued. I absolutely recommend it- the location is great as it is very close to the beach, bars and restaurants but far enough away that you can chill too. Oh and another bonus is that there is a supermarket a 4 minute walk away. I did also eat there and the food was consistently great; from the chicken gyros to the fresh seafood. I'll certainly be booking here again if I'm back in Rhodes, Dal =)

We loved this little hotel - would highly recommend it. The rooms were nicely renovated with quite a funky look. Beds were big and comfortable. The staff in the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The pool area was nice, with plenty of high quality sunbeds. During our week there was record high temperatures, and the air conditioning handled this no problem. Restaurant and bar served excellent food and drinks. We chose the room with breakfast option, and the selection was good, not that varied, but fine for the one week that we were there. The location was very convenient for airport access (regular bus service or taxi). And also for Rhodes Town access (regular buses)

Local area is rather run down - but this is obviously not the fault of the hotel. And anyway, good food and friendly Greek people are not at all hard to find if you get out and about in any local area. NOTE: Lots of tavernas, bars and shops have closed down apparently due to all of the big hotels in the area going "All Inclusive" in the last few years. To support the local economy DO NOT choose All Inclusive hotels (those hotels are owned by big corporations, not necessarily even in Greece) If you go All Inclusive your money will not reach the local Rhodes people.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Penelope Hotel during our trip in Rhodes. It’s a small hotel, which made it very familiar and pleasant. We immediately felt welcomed. The staff is so friendly and no question was too much for them. Moreover, it was also my birthday during our stay and my boyfriend had told them this. They immediately wanted to arrange a surprise and even sang a song for me. They made me feel very loved. The rooms were modern and very nice, we slept very well. We also sat on the balcony a lot,which is definitely a plus. The breakfast was not so extensive, but everything that had to be present was there. We also really enjoyed the pool, and on top of that, there are blissful sun beds and very good cocktails! Highly recommended!

My stay at the Penelope Hotel was very good. My group and I stayed for 10 nights, so we had enough time to see both the ups and downs. For the good sides—where should I start? It’s a quiet place with a very good kitchen. Every meal we ordered was excellent. The bar service was great, with staff going the extra mile to make drinks that weren’t even on the menu. There’s a good swimming pool for relaxing days. The air conditioning in the room was very effective. All the staff—from the cleaning ladies, kitchen, reception, and bartenders to the owner—were top-notch. It’s only a five-minute walk to the beach, with very cheap sunbeds compared to other Mediterranean countries. Every single restaurant around served good food at very reasonable prices.

For the downs: we had standard rooms, which were quite basic. Nothing fancy, but definitely sufficient for most needs. The rooms were cleaned every day, and very thoroughly. My only suggestion for the owner (who, by the way, is a very cheerful and kind lady) is to add some sort of anti-slip mats in the baths. The baths are quite narrow, and if you’re showering it only takes a bit of shower gel on the bottom to lose balance and fall, risking injury. It almost happened to me twice, and to my partner once—and we weren’t even drunk! I would also recommend swapping the toast bread at breakfast for some fresh bread from a local bakery. That would be a massive upgrade to the breakfast experience.

The location was perfect! About 3 miles from Rhodes (Old Town), and 3 miles from the airport. Getting here was super easy. Parking is free and great (if you rent a car). The staff is wonderful. The restaurant/lounge is outside, but the weather (all week) was perfect. Being 2 blocks from the beach, we had a great breeze. The beds were comfortable, and the room was cozy. Our balcony faced the east, so we had a great sunrise every day. When we come back, we will be staying here again!

I wish there was a washer for guests to use or laundry service. But in all honesty, the room had so many other amenities that were fantastic... a fridge, kitchenware, a small oven, a microwave, and a sink.

The location was great. Rooms were a good size. Cleaned every day. The restaurant area was immaculate and lovely food from the restaurant

The patio area in the apartment was never cleaned. There was weeds growing from the tiles on patio area. The bushes at patio area were over grown and a mess. Attracted a lot of mosquitoes.The pool was terribly dirty. cleaned once while we were there after us letting the staff aware it needed a clean. The pool area and pool requires better daily attention and proper cleaning.

This hotel is fantastic. I could stop here as it really was faultless. The rooms. The rooms are exquisitely finished, comfortable with air conditioning and well supplied with toiletries that allow me to keep up appearances. (No itchy scalp.) The bed was also very comfortable and the balcony, despite having "only" a garden view has beautiful views of the mountains. Much like in any hotel, the bedrooms were made up on request. I also loved the storage facilities. Despite the good value, nothing was skimped upon, with plenty of wardrobe space and hangers for clothing. The Pool The sun loungers were arguably more comfortable than the beds in themselves, the pool is a beautiful and is a real sun trap. it was good to see a good deep pool too with comfortable temperatures for swimming. The food You won't get better food in Rhodes. In fact, the reason for its popularity is for that it takes on many of the all inclusive hotels guests from other hotels (because they get bored of the food in their hotel) You can have what you like, but I would advise you to avoid the muck you have in your own country and have something authentically Greek. The staff Pernille and Laz are a riot. I will say no more. Nothing is too much trouble at this Scandinavian/Greek cocktail of paradise. ***The End***

I got bitten by a mosquito? There really isn't anything to dislike, MILLIONS of Euros have been spent on this place and it really shows. Make sure you ask Laz/Pernille to help you to book a Taxi/Car rental.

This was our best holiday so far! The staff from Penelope Hotel exceeded our expectations with their hospitality and surprised us with their smiles every day. Many and special thanks to Joanna and Lazaros (and his wife) for making this stay so amazing. We went here for 2 weeks and we never got bored, they were always in for a nice chat during lunch and dinner times or when we just wanted a cocktail by the pool. Besides that, the room was super cozy and modern, the AC worked perfectly, housekeeping came everyday to clean the sheets and bring new towels and furthermore the hotel and facilities were very clean! Overall an amazing stay, would definitely recommend it to my friends and family and I would definitely come back again!

Actually everything was perfect, but only the service from the reception lady could have been better. Comparing to the other staff members of the hotel, she wasn’t really welcoming and when we checked out, she also didn’t ask how our stay was or wished us a good flight home. This is just a small thing, but could have made the experience even better.

Loved everything about this hotel! It was spotless, great spacious rooms, amazing pool with the best sun loungers, the staff couldn’t do more for you - so friendly and fantastic, a real family feel. They made us feel very welcome and were so helpful with anything we needed for our 6 month old baby. Great restaurant and bar showing the euro’s. Excellent breakfast and then a delicious menu for lunch and dinner. Food was reasonably priced. The chicken salad was unreal. Can’t fault the hotel, had a wonderful time! Close by to other restaurants and bars - a short walk away. I would definitely go back!!

Nothing but I didn’t like when I had to leave to go home, could have easily stayed longer!

We had a big room with a terrace and small kitchen area. Location was good near to a (big) supermarket, some restaurants and short walk to the beach. Good location if you want to be closer to the airport, that's why we stayed here for 1 night. Staff were great. Breakfast pretty good. Pool was nice as well. Good value for money, could visit again!

The location was good but not the prettiest. I would not stay in this area for a longer time, but great for a shorter stay. I don't know what part of the accomodation is "boutique", maybe there are som specific rooms with more boutique style. But our room was perfect for what we needed, a place closer to airport to stay the last night before heading home. (this has nothing to do with the accomodation, just generally rhodes: I thought the bus time tables in Rhodes were extremly hard to find out, so if you don't have a car, be sure to count for some extra time waiting for and figuring out the means of transport.)
