Many thanks to the very kind girls at the reception for their help! I was checked in early, the room was cozy and clean, beautiful view from the 8th floor. The breakfast is excellent - khachapuri and kubdari are tastier than in Georgia, everything is fresh and very appetizing. I wish you all good luck ! Greetings from the Czech Republic :)

All three front staff members are very friendly and accommodating. While other staff of the hotel spoke zero English (except for one of the waiters at the restaurant), the front staff spoke English quite well. They taught us some basic Tajik phrases and helped us choose a local SIM card.

The cleaning staff threw away some personal cosmetic products which were not empty (she did not even pretend to be sorry after we found out and reported to the front staff). One of the cleaning ladies must have also eaten one of the chocolate pies which were kept in our private refrigerator. We did not report this because we thought "how could they?", and concluded that it must have been some mistake, but later we were told by both locals and an expat that this kind of misconduct happens quite often when you let cleaning service in. I would strongly advise you not to fully trust room cleaners with your personal belongings.

The room was spacious and clean. From the ninth floor we had a wonderful view of the park by the flagpole. The breakfast offered everything you need: coffee, cheese, sausage, eggs, jam and more. The staff was always very friendly and helpful. The hotel, which is very centrally located near the National Museum, also has a restaurant with very tasty Georgian dishes, among other things, where you can eat very well. We felt very comfortable and would come back any time.

A nice 3 star hotel, good location with a great view overlooking Rudaki, the Palace of Nations and the ?tallest flagpole in the world. The rooms are large and rather soviet style but clean and comfortable. Our room seemed to be blasting out cool air when it was not hot at all which made us feel rather chilly. This was quickly rectified when the receptionist arranged for a heater to be sent to our room. There is an excellent Georgian restaurant on the premises where we enjoyed an excellent coffee on our arrival and an excellent dinner and wine in the evening. A good choice

Staff very friendly and helpful. Bed really comfortable, good pressure shower with an excellent standard of room cleanliness. Located within easy walking distance to tourist sites, cafes and supermarkets.

I stayed there five nights and the breakfast although tasty, never changed. Was tired of the same thing every morning. There’s also appears to be ongoing development of new government and cultural buildings which sometimes can be noisy.

I have always enjoyed staying at Shumon. Front desk people are always calm, friendly and capable. Everything works and room sizes and amenities are all that one needs. Having a Georgian restaurant and bar onsite is a real bonus at the end of a tiring day. The hotel is not right in the hub of Dushanbe, but al the essentials are within easy walking distance.

Wifi was a bit weak and erratic, even dropping out a couple of times.

Exceptionally nice and helpful staff, good parking, Good restaurant and a good breakfast. You will appreciate this! The location is good, near the main street - but the main street is long and the temperatures in summer do NOT encourage walking. Take a taxi to where you want to go - and then walk a little. There are some nice parks. Most of the old Dushanbe is gone (including fine examples of early soviet architecture) and the city is being rebuilt in a modern or at the best post-soviet style. The original oriental Dushanbe is being bulldozed out of history as you are reading this. Prices in general are very low, but do carry cash! The hotel accepts credit cards, but outside the hotel, you need cash, Mastercard is pretty useless. You can get cash on your MC in a couple of banks (ask the taxi driver), but only small amounts. And don't rely on Visa either. Mine was eaten by an ATM. Load up on cash at the border (there will be descrete money changers. It is illegal, but nobody cares) or at the airport!

- The room I booked was huge and amazing. It had a good view but I hoped for the corner room which had the L shaped window view of the park but still it was really good. - The room has all sorts of amenities in it and is super comfortable. The is AC is amazing and everything is quite clean. - Breakfast has a variety of options. Some a freshly made in the morning. - The staff is very friendly and helpful. The girl at the reception speaks English really well. - You can buy sim in the mobile center next to the hotel and there are also some cafes next to the hotel.

Everything was good!

To begin with, the hotel's location was marvellous: practically next to the Flagpole Park and the National Museum of Tajikistan (I could actually see the Flagpole from my window). The room was quite spacious, well-equipped, comfortable, clean, and quiet. The staff were extraordinarily welcoming and accommodating – I was allowed to enter my room hours before the official check-in time for no extra charge at all. The same thing happened when I was leaving – I was allowed to prolong my stay for a few more hours. The restaurant on the ground floor offered delicious treats and was very tastily decorated. For me, that was the perfect touch to the exceptional overall image of the Shumon Hotel.

Nice buffet breakfast in Georgian cuisine restaurant on the ground floor. Great city view from the 9th floor, plenty of space in bathroom with window. Hotel is very close to the park, good for those who like morning jogging.
