Super location Other restaurants on doorstep

Michelin restaurant had no a la carte option so it was mandatory fish and one of us does not eat mackerel or sardine but no other option for that particular course was offered with a take it or leave it attitude which is not acceptable. Bedroom reading lights and bathroom lighting poor. Such a simple thing to remedy .

The town is enchanting. The hotel building and grounds are classy. The staff is caring. Plenty of secure parking. Decent breakfast. It is a very quiet and inviting venue. Interesting local art work throughout the public spaces. Loved the history that it was built by a retired admiral and also belonged to the Peugeot company for a time for retreats.

WIfi very sketchy. Room decor a bit lean for a four star designation. Didn't get a change to try their starred restaurant (closed Sunday and Monday). Sister bistro, a few hundred yards away, was fine but nothing special. Breakfast could be improved.

Beautiful, quiet location with great views of the estuary. Lovely gardens with lots of different places to sit. Very short walk to the port with lively bars and restaurants. All the staff were excellent - friendly, helpful and discreet. Food excellent too.

Everything. From location to the service . Property is beautiful! We enjoyed every moment we spent in this hotel.

We loved the position of the hotel. It is very beautiful. The grounds and views are lovely. The staff were delightful and very helpful. Our dinner was perfect and so many courses!! Parking is very easy.

Although the room was very comfortable we found it rather small for the price.

The receptionist that greeted us at the hotel was not at all welcoming. Also the suggestion the hotel made for supper was extremely disappointing. We were greeted by a very rude member of staff who could not accommodate our request to inside even though we booked the restaurant (at the hotel’s suggestion) a week in advance.

The hotel is in a magnificent location with excellent restaurants nearby. It was a lovely hotel at a very reasonable price compared with other hotels.

I didn’t eat in the restaurant as it was very expensive 99£ with few choices. but I am told the food is superb. Would like to have had option for a cheaper menu. But good restaurant options within 100 yards.

The location is an interesting house originally built for an admiral at the beginning of the 20th century on an estuary. We had a room overlooking the river which was beautifully appointed and a very comfortable bed. The bathroom was spacious, great shower over the bath and a separate loo. The reception staff gave us a warm welcome and helped us with our bags. We had a drink in the bar overlooking the estuary and dinner downstairs in the Les Trois Roches restaurant. We hadn't booked in advance but got the last table in the dining room. The quality of the food and cooking was of the highest standard and very memorable however as it is Michelin 1* be prepared to pay for the pleasure of eating here. The breakfast buffet was also excellent.

Location is simply exceptional, hotel is bordering the sea shore.The garden is beautiful and well taken care of.Our room was wide and very quiet.Delicious breakfast, staff very courteous and all smiles.
