Beautiful new hotel that has uniform elements. During our visit everything was still new, clean and working as it should. The staff was friendly and helpful. As in all of Sumba, if there can be a language barrier in English, but we handled everything playfully and with a smile. The price performance ratio was great.

There was nothing that was specifically in the way. If it was my first day on the island, I might have been surprised that I couldn't agree on everything in English, but after a few days of traveling, we understood. Plus the inability to pay in the restaurant by contactless, it can cause problems for people used to not changing money enticingly and not carrying a card since they have it in an electronic wallet.

Lovely place to start your trip on Sumba, you'll miss it afterwards, trust me. They'll send a shuttle to the airport upon request, cost is 150K. Might check with the taxi drivers outside to compare. Reception staff are all business and helpful. If you need a private car and driver, they'll refer you...driver is laid back and price is competitive. There's an elevator which is a luxury on the island. Room is clean and spacious. Bed very comfy. Quiet air conditioner. TV with English channels. There's a pool which I didn't get a chance to use. Had a late lunch and coffee in the cafe which was tasty. Breakfast was also very good, with eggs made to order.

I sent a message on Booking.com asking about airport transfer options. No response. I ended up calling when I arrived. They sent a shuttle but didn't mention price and I mistakenly assumed it was a free service. That one's on me.

Nice brand new hotel near Tambolaka (airport only 10 min by car). Like the interior design. Staff is nice, thoughtful, interested. Manager was very helpful when in need of a doctor and could speak English very well. There is an option to book a massage as well, it was very good and reasonably priced (booked in advance via Whatsapp, they answer quickly by the way). They have a cafe and restaurant and the swimming pool is just huge. Would stay here again when in Tambolaka!

Keep doors to the outside closed in the cafe area (because of temperature and insects). Train staff to ask for help (of manager or other colleague) if they dont know the answer or dont know what to do. Taste of pizza in cafe was not so good.

After our flight back to Bali was cancelled, we needed to find a place to stay. This hotel is very nice considering the location and price. The room was clean and the beds comfortable. The pool was huge with sun beds, the food was quite good, and the cafe had decent coffee as well. It’s about 15 mins from the airport as well which was convenient for us.

The location is a bit random, as there’s not much around, so if you’re staying here you’re kind of confined to only eating and staying at the hotel.

Location was convenient for us as we had a scooter. Room was clean and we had more than sufficient changes of towels etc. TV and Aircon both worked effectively. Staff were very attentive during our stay, especially Youni and Andy in the cafe. Breakfast was ample from choice perspective.

The juice options at breakfast were a bit disappointing as they would run low/out very quickly and not be replaced quickly.

The breakfast buffet…. Due to minimal tourism the food is reused and doesn’t look fresh. The a la carte and regular menu though is perfect. The food is spectacular. I’m sure when it is busy the breakfast is good but I do not recommend if it is not busy.

This hotel is brand new and there is really nothing to complain about the facilities. Also the staff was more then friendly and helpful. They also get my compliments in this review.

There is as really nothing we can complain about. And we consider it a pity it was so quiet. We encourage everyone to come to Sumba to meet the friendly people and visit interesting sites. And if you do, Sima Sumba Hotel provides you great comfort in Tambolaka 😀

Staff was kind and helpful and facilities as expected for a hotel near the airport. We previously stayed further inland so wanted to be closer to the airport before we flew out of Sumba. We enjoyed the small hotel gym and made the most of our 1 night here. There was a few staff in training that week so check in and out was a bit slow. Book their airport shuttle!

Pool and gym area could use some more attention to detail.

NEW Hotel, clean, modern facilities.

The staff need to get more training. I asked the reception to arrange a transport for me to go to the airport & she said it alredy full booked. And she said that she will check with other provider and let me know. So I asked her to ring my room to update me but NO update at all. I ended up arrange the alternative transport by myself. The location is not walking distance to any restaurants.

The architecture and interior design are very impressive. Fabrics and textiles beautiful. The restaurant and cafe were very good, and staff helpful and polite. For us, this was a perfect place to stay on the day of our arrival, before travelling to the South West coast. Breakfast was plentiful and choice of cuisine was wide.
