Our stay at Haus Holzapfel was brief, only booked for one night, en route to Cape Town, so it was suitable as a halfway stop for the night. The location was good, a short drive from the main road, the facilities were well maintained overall, and the check-in was remotely done, smooth and straightforward. The rooms were good, and slept well. Would definitely recommend to those who need good accommodation for either spending time in the area or just passing by.

The taps were a bit worn, so water came out a bit spray-like, but nothing major. The only let down I would say was the use of the pool facilities, was hoping the kids could take a nice swim after a long day on the road, but the only pool we saw was green and not usable, but since I booked with booking.com I didn't confirm if this was available beforehand, just would have been nice.

The apartment was spacious and felt like home. Everything works, it was clean and everything you need is there. Was a comfortable experience and the kids loved their own room with their own tv and Aircon. I would definitely return on my next travel.

Even though the entire area is water wise, I feel it is pointless having a bath tub that you can not use (the bath plug was adjusted so that it doesn't stop water from going out). My wife was looking forward to take a relaxing bath after a long drive. The mini kitchen is amazing, but would be better if there was an actual sink with a tap. It's inconvenient to have to go to the bathroom for water everytime.

Location far enough from main road for traffic noise not to bother, but also easy access back to highway. Clean, spacious accommodation with air conditioning and TV’s in every room. Bonus was the flipfile with recommended restaurants’ menu’s. Host responds immediately to messages and was very accommodating of our needs.

No complaints. Always uncertain about security in an unknown area, as anything is possible in South Africa, but host was very responsive and reassuring. We moved items from Jhb to CT and everything was safe.

The place was neat and tidy. Met the standards of a perfectly 👌 clean stay over. The place had everything we needed, including filter coffee which is a scarcity in many places. Had bathing soap, shampoo, and hand soap. Nice and quiet.

Just something small there was ni milk aa we looked forward to our filter coffee before we left in the morning. One more thing the gate closed in on us scratching the bakkie as we left for supper. I think they can look at that. Otherwise it was perfect 👌.

The place was clean and everything was within reach. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful.

It was a scorching hot day and the swimming pool had no water. The kids looked forward to swimming since it was such a hot day and were disappointed to find they could not use the pool.. An alternative swimming place was offered at another accommodation but after driving 10hrs, you just want to relax and not drive some more..either than that, no complaints.

It was clean and had most necessities

I booked this place specifically because of the swimming pool, I’m travelling with kids and I know they like to cool off in a pool after a long drive but when got to the location I was told the pool is at a different location (main guest house) it was a bit of an inconvenience. Had I known this information I would’ve booked somewhere else

What a pleasant overnight stay we could experience. Very neat and thoughtful. We will definitely recommend Haus Holzaphel and in future make bookings if we travel to Cape Town again. The perfect "pit stop"

I know it is difficult with space, but the spiral staircase with luggage to climb up or down is a bit difficult and risky. Is it possible to add another hand rail to the open space?

Beautiful garden, very friendly host, lovely swimming pool, nice unit with little kitchen and comfy beds, walking distance to shops and restaurant.

The second night (or very early morning) there was some noise from water, pipe lines or washing maschine; but I would book again if I'm in the neighbourhood. It was a lovely stay.

Our check-in at Haus Holzapfel was a breeze. There was a power outage in the area when we checked in and the host came by to apologise about the inconvenience and show us how to use the inverter. The apartment was cozy and definitely great value for money. My family and I will definitely be booking here again!

i was happy with everything. I normally stay over at the same premises. i have used Haus Holzapfel before. apartment is neat an comfortable. premises is safe, secure, quiet

internet/wifi connection issue while watching tv, but it wasnt serious. i was tired so went to sleep instead, no tea available.
