This is a lovely place to stay - the rooms are beautifully decorated, clean and well-equipped. We were 5 and stayed in the 2 bedroom apartment and it was very spacious (extra matrass on the floor). The rooms are serviced every day (very friendly staff). The grounds are so beautifully kept - lovely garden, wonderful pool to refresh in and the onsite restaurant was such a bonus. The breakfasts (included) are really good - and they were kind enough to make us breakfast really late on the Sunday when we only got back from church after 12 (they were very willing to arrange this with us). It is a beautiful little oasis in the dry Karoo. And the surrounding streets are pretty too - perfect for a morning run.

This is a beautiful little hotel - lovely gardens, very comfortable accommodation and staff super friendly. The decor is also so beautiful. The facilities are really good - everything you need....in fact you could leave me there for two weeks as a retreat from the world and I would be happy. I went for a run in the morning - streets around the property are clean, pretty, safe (apparently there are cameras everywhere in Middelburg), and then returned to jump into the crisp, clean pool...before tidying up and having my (included) breakfast (really good - and you have a choice) - at a table under the trees in the serene, green garden. This was a lovely stay - enough to make me find excuses to go via Middelburg on every trip I make :)

MAGIC, Surprise. Neat, pro experience. Service good, room perfect as selected. Dinner lovely, Breakfast incl, excellent. Safe parking, nice setting for the restaurant and a Karoo eve outside by the pool o Perfect for a great stay over, no need to rush out in the morning. This is not Vegas it is the Karoo ****** service and the staff is tops. Lo ved it.

Wonderful spacious room with a large bathroom, including bathtub and shower. The onsite restaurant prepares delicious meals. The grounds are exceptionally large with ample safe parking. The swimming pool is well maintained and inviting in the summer heat.

Through no fault of the property, loadshedding (rolling blackouts) for 2 hours during the night had an effect on the air conditioining which made it a little uncomfortable. Kudos to the manager on duty. I called her a 2AM to complain about the loss of power and subsequent heat. She immediately came to check their circuit breakers without complaining. She went out of her way to rectify the situation and even called their city electrician, only to be told that it was indeed loadshedding.

Restaurant staff were brilliant and whilst Middelburg did not appear to have too many attractions/reasons for visiting, the Celsis was a wonderful oasis. We were travelling from Clarens towards Cape Town and initially we had thought about staying in Colesberg but selected Middelburg as getting us a little further down the road. Were we glad we did! The scenery as we skirted Lesotho was magnificent. The roads were occasionally challenging with potholes but much more interesting than sticking to the N1. Breakfast at Celsis was outstanding and set us up for the next stage via Graaff Reinet to Prince Albert.

Thank you for a lovely evening. Breakfast was delicious and served early enough to be on the road again. The bedroom was warm with ole ty of provision for a cold Karoo night. Will definitely recommend.

Restaurant was very busy and noisy. We were seated next to the door which was not pleasant. There were people constantly in and out and each time the door was opened we had a blast of cold air.

I loved the strategically placed walls that provided the units much appreciated privacy. The delicious strawberry jar cocktail allowed me to have a well rested sleep The sheets and duvet were so soft and the pillows comfortable that it felt like sleeping in a cloud. Staff were friendly and accommodating.

The garden should have more smoking points, otherwise there are no complaints

The facility has a lot to offer the over night staying travelers. From the pool to cool off in, the garden for the kids to run around, to the restaurant to sit back and relax with a nice cold one. Will definitely stay over again when travelling to the Cape again.

Not much, they really do offer a lot considering where they are based.

I love the rooms very comfortable and the showers are good 😊. The restaurant itself is good and the salads are wonderful.

Please also use a small refrigerator in the rooms as well. Please give more variation of the breakfast. There is no omelette on the menu. The pool is not very private. Poor WiFi.

Fabulous stay, we were very well catered for in terms of facilities and food. The quality of food was superb, staff were friendly and happy to have a conversation. The rooms are well apportioned with hot running water, always a bonus when the weather is cold. This place is very peaceful throughout the day and during sleeping hours.
