This place is truly exceptional. From the owner and managers to Chef Armando and the serving staff, everyone provided an outstanding experience. The charm of the stone buildings adds a unique character to the ambiance, creating a delightful, intimate village feel. One of the highlights was the opportunity to meet fellow travelers, and we even formed new friendships with visitors from Bali. Chef Armando deserves special mention for his exceptional culinary skills. Throughout our four-night stay, we dined at the restaurant for all our meals, and each dish was a delight. The managers were incredibly friendly and welcoming, making us feel as if we were visiting family friends. Adding to the charm of our stay was the 2km walk to the bass dam, where we encountered various animal spoor. Despite being January, the weather was unexpectedly chilly on some days, allowing us to appreciate the warmth of a cozy fireplace during some of our dinners. The unique and thoughtful children's playground was a highlight for our young children who spent most of their time playing there.

Quite a few flies but that's farm life.

The Scenery was absolutely beautiful and it was so peaceful and quiet. Staff was really friendly and helpful. Just loved the fresh spring water and that everyday they gave fresh milk from their own cows. So much good stuff and I would recommend to anyone and everyone.

On our arrival there was no electricity but they had it fixed only to go off again during the night. But again they worked on it ASAP. The only downfall was signal - there was wifi but reception was weak and I couldn't reach my family back home everytime.

Flitwick Ranch exceeded all expectation. Loved our room, including the little extras of raw milk, the most delicious Rusks and fruit basket; not to mention the comfortable bed and pillows. The old cheese factory is perfect for pets with an enclosed garden, so no worrying about our dog wandering. The communal kitchen, lounge, dining and braai area are 5 star and beautifully decorated. Loved that my husband could mountain bike, my child could fish, and I could hike with my doggy. An enchanting experience. Beautiful scenery and wonderful staff. Blessed to have found this place.

The restaurant was excellent. Food choices catered for everyone, staff very attentive and the atmosphere was warm and inviting. Generally all staff exceptionally friendly and helpful, the rooms are unique with the internal rock walls adding to the romantic vibe of this currently unknown Guest Ranch. We will definitely be back with friends to share this unusual value offering.

Nothing much or serious. Attention to detail could be improved.

I rarely find myself compelled to share my opinions publicly, but in this instance, I consider it a moral obligation. After more than four decades of traversing the globe, including South Africa, I discovered a gem along the Drakensberg road – the Flitwick Ranch. It's a slice of paradise, a realm out of a fairy tale, an enchanting sanctuary that captivates the souls of those who take the time to appreciate its splendor – a haven for romantics, poets, and wanderers alike. It's not just a stop; it's a destination in itself. Whether you arrive solo, with a partner, or alongside your family, the experience is nothing short of mesmerizing. Children will be spellbound, and it's a place where one can contemplate life's wonders. However, I urge you to visit soon before prices ascend. Embrace nature's embrace at this seemingly remote locale, yet equipped with every comfort imaginable, overseen by charming hosts, offering cuisine of the highest quality. The value offered is unparalleled, an exceptional blend of luxury and affordability. This eco lodge, ahead of its time, harnesses the sun for electricity and draws pure spring water for quenching your thirst. The service provided is beyond reproach. Heartfelt gratitude goes to Marié, Jurie, Chantelle, and their remarkable teams for extending such a warm welcome during my stay. I yearn to introduce this haven to my children, grandchildren, and friends, eager for them to revel in its beauty and hospitality.

The staff is one of the friendliest we have ever met! The ranch is beautifully situated and has little corners, seats, possibility to play games, etc everywhere. Fantastic for children to go exploring. But even us adults enjoyed the game-barn :-) The chef is brilliant, so definitely use the restaurant when you're there, everything was super delicious. We slept here for 2 nights, could have easily spend some more!

The ranch is at a remote location. For us that was something we really loved, but maybe not everyone does? We loved our stay from beginning to end.

The place exceeded our expectations. Perfect timing, considering we experienced the snowy and gloomy weather. A beautiful and slow morning, away from the city. The picnic setup was superb! We will definitely find ourselves back for a weekend stay!

Everything was good.

First point to make is about the host, Jurie, which is amazingly friendly, making you feel very welcome to stay here. From the start, which was a very warm welcome, he makes everything perfect. From showing us the accommodation to making sure our food is served exactly how we like it, to arranging the fireplace to be started so we can end our evening in a cozy (and romantic) manner. The rooms are very spacious and classic farm style. The rooms we had on the main square had a lovely view over the garden and mountains in the distance. The whole facility is beautiful and I recommend to take stroll around to watch everything. The restaurant has a nice view over a (sort of) tiny lake at the rear, where you can enjoy the high quality breakfast and dinner. Overall very highly recommended.

The only negative point is that we only booked this accommodation for 1 night. We would have loved to stay here for more nights, enjoy the relaxing atmosphere and great food.

The atmosphere was incredible. My Wife & I enjoyed the serenity. Jurie was a fantastic host, his attention to detail is remarkable. The scenery was picturesque and the sounds of nature are absolute soothing. We saw an owl for the first time and came up close to farm animals like never before. Flitwick is a must for every reason, the beauty is astounding and the tranquility is transcendant. We plan to visit there again soon, worth the drive from every direction.

There's practically nothing to fault, The roads were rock and roll but that was expected when travelling in a hatch. Krags post was absolutely bumpy but the dirt roadway to Flitwick is well maintained. All in all Our hatch made the drive.

The staff and managers were all amazing, they treated us like valued friends and nothing was too much trouble. Jurie went out of his way to make my birthday special by treating me to a surprise dessert of melkkos which he knew was a childhood favourite of mine. The chocolate birthday cake he made was delicious and all the meals were very tasty. Our accommodation was clean and very comfortable. We enjoyed walking the trails in the beautiful scenery and exploring the different features and buildings. I had a wonderful massage by Chantal. And we had snow!! 😀
