So many cats. It's like staying in a cat cafe without the time limit (except the cats go to their own room at night). I didn't notice any smell or other hygiene issue with the cats. The room was comfy and spacious and the staff were friendly and helpful with any questions or support I needed.

I'm not used to staying at places with curfews, so I didn't like the time limit on returning to the hostel (not that it mattered, there's not much nightlife around). There was a book club having a meeting in the common area and I was told to go eat elsewhere in the hostel, even though there was also a downstairs room in the common area I could have dined in.

What a lovely place! The atmosphere is amazing. Our kids also loved the cats, which are treated very good. We all loved the vibe. Great place to have a drink and relax also. Also a library. We were upgraded to the special family room, which is superb. Spacious, good beds, good facilities: just perfect! Friendly staff, and for sure try the food and drinks available, very nice. We loved staying here in South-korea!

In contrast to other reviewerss, luckily we didn't experience loud noise, nor not-interested staff during our stay. But if you dislike cats, I would choose another place to stay. The location is a bit out of the way from Andong-centre, but all touristic places in Andong are a bit out of the way, and out of the centre (for sure would recommend renting a car when visiting Andong-region) The hostel is pretty close by the train station. Best stay we had in South-Korea!

All excellent , the rooms , the resting areas , the cafe …. so clean , so beautiful , the breakfast so great …you just want to stay in the middle of all this books and cats . It’s walking distance of the train and buses …it’s not in the center of town but with the bus you are there in 20m . Anyhow all the tourist’s attractions are out of the city , meaning you need to get the bus always . I stayed 3 nights and it was great to recharge in order to continue travelling …Thanks

They might have upgraded my room. I stayed at their family room and the room was like a studio apartment! It was big and nicely decorated. The bed was very comfortable. The room itself was very nice and clean. Walking distance from the train and bus station. It’s far from anything else but it worked out as a good base.

I had a problem with the cafe area downstairs where they serve the breakfast. There are so many cars and cat hair is everywhere! It smells like cat litters, too. I guess there’s no health code in Korea? I don’t think the place is suitable for serving food in my opinion. If you are allergic to cats, definitely don’t forget to take allergy medicine. Staff are too busy running the cafe and don’t care much about guest house guests.

It was my second time in South Korea and I've stayed in various accommodations in different cities, but this one was the nicest. For someone like me who loves cats, books and music, it was pure paradise. I accidentally got a family room instead of a single room and I felt very comfortable there. I would have loved to stay for a whole week, but unfortunately I had planned my trip differently. Next time I will stay longer. The location is excellent, on the edge of the city, surrounded by trees and nature. It's very quiet there. You can buy lots of nice things at the hotel reception and there is always wonderful music playing. The host is very friendly and helpful and always there if you need anything. There are cats everywhere, except on the floors where the rooms are. It is simply marvellous. The room was very tastefully decorated, with great attention to detail. A welcoming place where you simply feel at home. Thank you so much for the wonderful time. I loved it.

The breakfast was a bit boring. I would have liked to have had more choice.

The location was far from the city centre and hard to get food around this area. It was also quite a walk into the hostel from the bus terminal or bus stops so it was hard to drag the heavy luggage. The roads in are dark at night so get back before the sun sets. The room was a little too small with my big luggage. The wifi on the accommodation floors weren’t secure wifi too

It was the third time I came to Andong Poong-gyung hostel. I love this place, filled with books, cats and adorable people. We met many friends there and visited Hahoe Village as well as Andong City Center. The hotel is very close to the train station and bus terminal. The neighbourhood is quiet but shops are available walking distance for snacks. The staff at the café makes the best korean ramyeon. I want to come back again. Thank you so much !!!!!

The cafe, first floor is so beautiful, the rooms very spacious, super clean, they provided with an array of toiletry that is welcome and the owner and staff very nice and helpfull. Close to the bus and train station (8 to 10 min) You can visit from the bus station all the atractions out of the city

The only thing is situate on the outskirts of the city, however is so peacefull. It so worthy

It's a hostel, but it's a little more than only that! The atmosphere is very pleasant (the library on the ground floor make it very cozy). I loved the design and the character of the furniture and the arrangments. The rooms are very clean and even the 8 persons room is spacy and provided with everything needed. The 8-persons room has a separated big toilet (with japanese style seat!) and a big shower. The breakfast is a little modest, but just enough.

Though is not far from the bus and train station (less than 10min walking), it's not near anything else in Andong. Luckily there are enough buses driving to and from the center. It's quite isolated, a little unpleasant to walk in the evening in the dark (luckily Korea is very safe!).

The hostel is located at walking distance from the bus station and train station (and tourist office), but it is twenty minutes by bus from Andong downtown. The dormitory I had was clean and comfortable (showers and toilets separate). Good bed. Free breakfast. It is also a café-bookshop, where several cats are hanging around. Due to bad weather, I could not enjoy the outside facilities.
