This is not a standard hotel; it’s a love motel typically booked for a few hours, like most others in Iksan. We had to check ourselves in as the staff ignored us and there was no reception. The motel consists of several rooms on the second floor, accessible through a garage. Payment is made through vending machines, and it was entirely unclear why we even booked through Booking.com since there was no assigned room for us. It took us two hours to figure out how to pay for our rooms and manage the check-in process. Given the nature of this establishment, it’s expected that guests won't leave their rooms. The system is overly complicated: you have to press a button in the room, and upon returning, another at the payment terminal. The equipment is old and broken, and all instructions are in Korean. The hotel staff was incredibly unhelpful. They ignored our requests and only showed up when all four of us entered the same room. When we entered the room, a rude old Korean man called us using the phone inside the room, questioning how many of us were there and stating the room was only for two, instead of addressing our concerns. Obviously he had been watching our sufferings through cameras at the premises for hours, but didn’t come to help us. Unbelievable! Initially, we had booked two rooms, but as mentioned, the Booking.com reservation was useless, just like the staff at this bizarre place. On a positive note, the room itself was relatively clean for this type of establishment, with a few bottles of water, a large TV, and, of course, contraceptive supplies. Overall, my advice is to stay far away from this city and especially from this motel.

no keys to lock doors so anybody can access, rooms smelled of stale cigarette smoke, TV didn’t work, AC didn’t work, no reception or lifts or staff members about. property also had not been cleaned well - belongings left in the room.
