An incredible stay in a great location in the center of the village. Everything is within walking distance and you feel safe whatever the time of day. It was my first solo stay and I was made to feel very welcome. The breakfast was excellent (a little light but there's so much to eat in town), the accommodation was very clean and the owners were very helpful and accommodating. Air conditioning is a real plus! Thank you so much !

Nothing to complain about. If you have a weak back, avoid this futon bed! It was a great experience. I didn't sleep much the first night, but the next day my body was used to it and I slept very well 😊

We had a wonderful stay at Sungsim Guesthouse in Jeonju! The owner was incredibly kind and welcoming, making us feel right at home. The rooms were cozy and clean, and we loved the traditional Korean vibe. The breakfast was a lovely surprise - fresh fruit and toast were the perfect way to start the day. Simple yet delicious! The location was also great, within walking distance to Hanok Village and other local attractions. We'd definitely recommend Sungsim Guesthouse to anyone looking for a warm and welcoming place to stay in Jeonju. Thanks to the owner for making our stay so special!

I had a great experience. I arrived early in the morning when they were still cleaning the rooms. Upon my return for a quick stop I could already go in to the room. The lady and her husband are so friendly and sweet!! She even gave a little snack bag when I left! Room was small as expected but it was great. You have heat flooring for the night and the bathroom is really clean! In the morning breakfast was brought to the room. Location is great! It's in the middle of the hanok village. You can walk easily to all of the places I recommend this place if you want to stay in the hanok village.

I dont often write reviews; But after this stay I felt obliged. The stay was very very good. Right in the centre of the cultural center of Jeonju (but also near a shopping district). The room was spotless, plus they gave me a free room upgrade. Very special to sleep on the futon in a original Hanbok house. Breakfast is brought to your room at the time you like between 8.30 and 10. It's basic but above korean standards. Upon my departure I got a very friendly goodbye plus a brown bag with a variety of snacks and a Yakult. 10/10

The location is perfect right in the middle of the main street and the hosts were so lovely and helpful. Wifi and AC were solid.

I knew it was a traditional hanok style room but when we did ryokans im Japan, they had more amenities and decor for the rooms to make the stay a bit more comfortable and picturesque. The room here was exceptionally basic. It had bedding, pillows, a tv and air conditioning but there was sparse decor. Felt like a few paintings or art could make the stay better.

Property was gorgeous and in a prime location right in the center of Jeonju’s hanok village. Beautiful little garden with outside seating and great ambience. Room was cozy and had everything we needed. Hosts were very accommodating as we arrived later than our expected arrival time, and allowed us to store our luggage after check-out. Hosts provided us with breakfast and welcome tea, as well as departing snacks! Highly recommend staying here!

We liked everything! We wish we could have stayed longer.

First of all the staff was very nice. They even gave me snacks when I left. The breakfast consist of a variaty of fruits, coffee/tea/juice and a toast with jam which is usually what I eat at home. There is a nice little garden where you can eat or hang out and the location is perfect. Right next to the sighseeing and little shopping streets in the hanok village.

The only con was that even if I was expecting a thin mattress, it was even thiner than what I thought. The first night was hard on my back. I folded the mattress in two for the second night and I slept like a baby so I suggest people to do that right away for a better sleep.

The Sungsim Hanok Guesthouse is perfectly located, in the very heart of Jeonju’s Hanok Village. My room was very well equipped, clean and kept the traditional aspect I was aiming to experience. The traditional bed was - despite all my doubts - quite comfortable! The staff were super nice to me and solution-oriented. I was welcomed with an iced tea and Korean cookies and was served breakfast every morning in my room.

My room was very small. It didn’t bother me but it can be a bit surprising. Also, there were some insects in the room, but obviously everything was cleaned up after I showed them to the staff. No big problems at the end of the day but it is worth mentioning these elements.

The hosts were super friendly and helpful, they recommended us great restaurant options. We were able to check in a bit earlier, which was very comfortable. The breakfast and the lunch package were also nice and the location of the guesthouse is very central in the hanok village, everything in walking distance.

The Futon bed was a bit hard to sleep on during the first night until I got used to it. The room was rather small and the ceiling light was very bright in the evening. At the beginning, the WiFi was slow, but after we asked the host about it, they improved it. Overall, a pleasant stay in Jeonju!

Sungsim Hanok Stay is located within Jeonju Hanok village itself and is easily accessible by Kakao Taxi from Jeonju bus terminal as well as Jeonju train station. We were received by the friendly English-speaking lady host who showed us to our room and gave a quick run through of the place. The place looks new and clean and is free from mosquitoes. There’s a small lovely garden in front of our room where we can hear the soothing sound of running water, a good place for reflection and reading. We were served a deliciously chilled welcome drink. The stay comes with a simple but healthy breakfast that’s substantial for us. The location of Sungsim is pretty good as it is on the Main Street that has some nice restaurants, cafes, and hanbok rental shops. It is also within walking distance to many places like Jeondong Cathedral, Gyeonggijeon Shrine, Nambu Market, and Korea Traditional Culture Centre. The host has been thoughtful in little ways and we were pleasantly surprised by the little farewell gifts at the end of our stay.
