Fantastic. Xavi and his family are just among some of the top hosts, we have ever met. And we travel really a lot. Everything about Rocatel is just at the top level, the location is exactly in front of the beach, the room is spacious, with wide bathroom, and gorgeous view from the balcony, the railway station to reach Barcelona is meters away, the private parking keeps the car secure, the swimming pool gives you the privacy you eventually need, and Canet de Mar itself is a small gem on the coast. However, what makes everything really ideal is the level of care shown by the host. They are ready to really go the extra mile for their customers, costantly making sure that the experience is always as comfortable as possible. Top in everything. Thank you!

There have been 2 small issues, mainly caused by booking.com and by a bug in their system and yet Xavi solved everything perfectly, making sure that the issues wouldn't affect us and trying to solve them with class and care. When the 2 small issues appeared, I wondered why the host was so kind to everybody, despite encountering annoying issues. Well, when you meet his beautiful and kind wife and his gorgeous smiling daughter, you understand that no matter what happens, he will always have beauty to surround his life and to make him forget about anything that could go wrong. So, congratulations to Xavi and his family for turning any small issue in a way that rather add points to their capacity to welcome guests.

The staff were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The location was perfect for us, only a 10 minute walk to the main town with more restaurants and shops. The views of the beach were stunning and it was so easy to get to the beach. The local bar and supermarket were very close too. The pool was lovely and rarely busy, everyone was very friendly and there was always access to sun loungers and equipment for the beach. It was quiet and private in the rooms. We had such a nice stay and would definitely recommend!

Nothing negative to report really! We arrived late and there was no options for food at the hotel itself but we did expect this. The night porter was really helpful in helping us to order food and recommending places.

I have stayed at this hotel for holiday purposes for several years in a row now. I highly appreciate the friendliness of the family that runs this hotel, especially Javier at the reception. Another highlight is the view over a long beach from one's balcon (provided that one has a room on the side of the hotel facing the sea). The area is not particularly touristy and I enjoy normal people going about their business, sitting in the bars, taking a morning dip in the sea etc. Rooms are relatively simple, but well thought through and comfortable. Hotel rates may change with the season (i'm note sure), but even in high season the room rates are quite good value.

There is no wifi in the room, only in the reception area, which is a bit inconvenient if one needs to do something involving the internet on a computer.

Xavi and all the staff were so wonderful couldn’t do enough for us. The setting is beautiful right on a stunning beach and a short walk on the promenade to the historic town where the train station is that runs regular trains to Barcelona. The rooms are beautifully clean and comfortable - the cleaning girls so lovely. There is a lift if you do not wish or are unable to take stairs. Good continental breakfast and there is a bar with great selection of wines beers etc. there is also a convenient supermarket along the road for anything you might need.

There is nothing we didn’t like!

wow - agree with all the positive comments here - Xavi and his wife I must say are fabulous hosts - the room was so comfy and relaxing very well thought out, lovely for 1 person even though a double bed - I did ask for a blanket (no probs at all) to cover the mattress as it was little hard for me and it was a great nights sleep the 5 days I was there. Pool area is lovely despite the train but I was well aware of this coastal path and the train as I had resently bee up the coast - NO MUSIC BLARING - result!!! Lovely place for a relaxing break.

Only negatives and it does pain me to say is some steps out of the pool were very slippey - another eldey lady struggled to get out when I was there - and the location besides the intersection there is a bit of noise but I have a hearing problem where I hear too much so Id say most peeps would not even notice . Enjoy this palce its special

The host was extremely helpful, thank you Xavi. My parents enjoyed the hotel, it was quite new, with a great location and swimming pool

The breakfast is mostly sandwiches/fruits (no kitchen). The infrastructure around is quite poor - not many places are around if you’re without a car. My older parents and a small nephew (q0 yo) didn’t like the sea as it goes deep quite fast, so if you feel uncomfortable in the water - consider other beaches with the shallow water

Location was excellent, room choice was excellent, balcony was excellent, view was excellent, price was excellent, staff was excellent, parking was great. Our sea side room had a nearly 180° unobstructed view of the beach and shoreline in both directions from the balcony, and a full view of the beach through the glass balcony from the bed. It was a short walk to the beach under the electric train tracks and to the town center for dinner. The staff was helpful and accommodated my request for an upper floor on the sea side ahead of time unlike most hotels on our vacation. Xavi was very helpful and fluent in English. The parking was gated and our car was visible from the balcony. There was an elevator. There was a pool and large dining area that looked great although we didn't experience either of them. The depth of the beach from the walking trail to the water was far enough to provide a quiet, relaxing sunbathing experience with enough distance from the street and buildings to comfortably layout and even walk topless.

I didn't like that we only stayed one night! I would have enjoyed this being a primary vacation destination for an entire week or two! The only minor imperfection, was a small commuter train that passed by down by the beach trail about every 15 minutes. But, since we were up on the 3rd floor, and it was electric, it was fairly quiet and was visible for 5 seconds and audible for less than 30. The beach was wonderful, although the sand was very coarse with shell fragments and requires some footwear for long walks, but great for exfoliating. And the shore dropped steeply with sand giving way small rocks that were challenging to walk on when wading.

I originally booked a small single room (with queen bed) but it was on the car-park side, so after one night I upgraded to a family room for a sea view. Both rooms were very comfortable and clean. The beds were firm (which I like). The family room had lots of floor space and it was lovely sitting on the balcony looking out to the sea. The pool was big and with plenty of loungers on all sides. All the staff were friendly, from the owner at the desk to the cleaning staff who cleaned the room every day.

Location perfect but trains noisy early in the morning. We were allowed to bring our bikes into the hotel to keep them secure. Many restaurants nearby. Lovely family vibe in town. Lots of locals eating.

Limited breakfast cereal, not very healthy, but I’m a health freak!

We were lucky to get a room in the fourth floor. From there, we enjoyed direct view to the beach and the sea - wonderful!! Beds were clean and comfy - as was the rest of our three bed room.

Nothing that really bothered us but just to mention: A certain smell coming from the bathroom (sewerage). Same sort of smell we had also in other appartments/hotels/restaurants while on outr trip.
