Good hotel near the old town. The room was lovely with very comfortable beds. Small kettle/tea/coffee in the room which we appreciated. Staff very friendly - felt a bit sorry for them as they were in temporary cramped accommodation while front desk under renovation. No issues with noise from the temporary building work. Nice rooftop bar which opened at 18:00. There was another rooftop terrace on the 4th floor.

The fourth floor terrace was unfortunately not well sign-posted. Also, it would have been nice if the rooftop bar opened before 6pm - even to just allow residents to sit there.

Great hotel. The room was spacious and spotless. The location is also excellent, perfect for exploring Girona or passing through. Also, it's a 2-minute walk from the bus stop that takes you to the train station, and also a Taxi stand. We didn't book breakfast in advance because we didn't know what to expect, but once we saw the buffet, we decided to go for it, and it was 10 out of 10. There was plenty of choice, and everything was quality, even the coffee, which is usually not good in hotels. Elevators are available, of course. The mattresses were very comfortable. Taxi price from Girona airport 40e, taxi to train station 6e.

My wife and I had a lovely 3-night stay in Hotel Gran Ultonia in Girona in July-25.  Our room, a Standard Queen Double, was spacious, with a large bathroom. It has all the facilities that we needed, including a great bed (we both slept very soundly each night) and a quiet & effective air-con. The staff were all very friendly and could not have been more helpful.  The breakfast buffet was excellent with a really good variety of food available. The roof-top bar gave fabulous views of the city and the surrounding countryside and was a lovely way to finish busy (& hot) days of sight seeing in the gorgeous city of Girona.  The hotel was perfectly positioned for easy access to the old part of the city and was close to the train & bus stations. Due to its location, there was a great choice of bars & restaurants within a short walk.  We would highly recommend this hotel.

I stayed at Hotel Gran Ultonia in Girona from 10th to 16th August, and overall, it was a very good experience. The location is excellent — just a short walk from the old town, restaurants, and main attractions, which made exploring Girona very easy. The room was clean, comfortable, and well-equipped, with good air conditioning, which was much appreciated in the summer heat. Housekeeping was consistent and kept everything tidy during my stay. Breakfast had a nice selection with both hot and cold options. One highlight was the rooftop terrace bar, which offers lovely views over the city — a great spot to unwind in the evening. Overall, Hotel Gran Ultonia is a solid choice for anyone visiting Girona. I would happily stay here again.

The only drawback was the soundproofing — I could hear voices from the hallway and neighbouring rooms.

We had an Executive Suite which was enormous. It was two adjoining rooms – one had a huge bathroom with a toilet, a sink, a bath with an overhead shower and a walk-in shower, and the other room had its own bathroom with a toilet and a sink. We had amazing cocktails in the rooftop bar, as well as tapas and the best toasted sandwiches ever! The staff were really friendly and helpful, the room was spotless and the hotel was excellently located a few minutes walk from shops and restaurants. Girona is a beautiful city and we’d love to return and stay here again ❤️.

Having to leave!

If you’re a cyclist visiting Girona, this hotel is absolutely ideal. They truly cater to riders, with multiple secure bike storage rooms, a dedicated bike wash station, and even a work stand in case you forget a tool. Everything is thoughtfully set up to make life easier for cyclists. The location is also fantastic—right in the heart of the city, so you’re close to restaurants, cafes, and everything Girona has to offer. Plus, it’s just a short ride to some amazing gravel routes nearby, making it a perfect base for exploring the area on two wheels. The staff were incredibly friendly and went above and beyond when I needed help with something. I felt genuinely looked after throughout my stay. Highly recommended for anyone coming to Girona with a bike!

Staff fantastic. Great location.Generous sized room with comfortable beds and spacious bathroom with good shower. Breakfast provided good choice. Requiring improvement - no hooks to hang coats or jackets and only 7 hangers in wardrobe- only one comfortable chair in room. Mirror needed above desk in bedroom as extraction not brilliant in bathroom. Difficult to air towels once used so no option but to get them replaced each day. Drinks in fridge but require bottle opener to open. Not something we usually pack for hotel stay. More milk should be provided in room imo. Nowhere other than outside terrace to sit during day but no snacks /drinks available .

Our Junior Suite was quiet, spacious and comfortable with plenty of storage. The bathroom had a large bath, powerful shower, wc and bidet and there were 2 basins in the adjacent dressing area. Everything was spotless, the bed comfortable and there was a great range of bathroom extras . The room had a fridge and comfortable seating. All the staff were very helpful, friendly and efficient. Breakfast was a feast - a vast range of items, many of which were locally sourced or provided in reusable packaging. The underground car park was well lit and accessed from inside the hotel. The location is excellent for exploring Girona.

Nothing really, although as is common in city hotels, parking was a bit challenging, but convenient and secure.

Room was very big and beautifully styled. Secure Parking and bike storage on site. Massive bath in our room so could have a good soak after our race.

Underground Parking was quite difficult to get in & out of with our large van. No vegan options at breakfast so had to eat elsewhere.

Arrived early, went just to leave bags and were given early check in, very much appreciated. All staff were helpful, friendly and keen to help. Room,beds,bathroom; clean,comfortable. Breakfast great. Location ideal for getting around what is a lovely city. Ideal for a weekend away. Roof top terrace great for drink and late night coffee Terrace on level four lovely to sit to read in sun. Gym was useful. Small but adequate for a weekend. We didn't cycle but lots of cyclists. Facilities seemed very well organised.
