September 2024

We had a room on the 4th floor with lovely views across the city .The air conditioning was perfect as the room could get very warm as the sun shone onto it nearly all day. It was great to have a a bath in the bathroom for a change as apposed to just a shower .The beds were made every day and towels changed if we left them in the bath .Breakfast had everything you could need to start off the day .The scrambled egg was cooked when ordered as was the bacon and fried eggs..My husband made use of the swimming pool a couple of times and it was spotlessly clean and not too cold! The walk up to the hotel from the city was not as taxing as we thought it might be after reading other peoples reviews. It’s well worth it for the hotels views of the city !

The WI-FI was very slow and for the last day and a half we didn’t have any in our room despite reporting it to reception. However we could pop down to reception as the signal was ok there ? Just a small inconvenience. The rooms were dated and bathroom slightly shabby but they were spotlessly clean . The dining room was a bit warm, so obviously the air con isn’t as efficient in there as in the bedrooms.

In general, the place is great. The room is large, the conditioner works fine, and the view is magnificent. The staff was also friendly, and even though not all of them were English-speaking, they always tried to help.

Breakfast - The selection is too poor for my taste. No greens or vegetables, yougurt was available just the first day of our stay. And it wasn't easy to feed my child, she doesn't eat fried eggs (only boiled which was not included), there were no cereals or porridge, mainly just bread, cold cuts, pastries, and some fruits.

The staff are fantastic. Views are amazing (totally worth the walk up the hill!). Spacious room and bathroom with nice balcony. Decent breakfast.

The swimming pool is nice but no longer looks anything like the photos on Booking.com. The lawn that you see in the photos is all over-grown and not useable. Suggest that the old photos are removed and more recent ones added. Pool opening times are limited. 12h30-14h30 and 16h30-18h30 in July and August, and just 16h30-18h30 in June and September. This information is available on the hotel's website but is not provided by Booking.com. It is a nice, shaded pool area for a refreshing dip at the end of the day but the information and photos on Booking.com should really be more accurate.

Superb views over the city, port and Rif mountain foothills. Food excellent and all staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful.

A steep hill up to the hotel required a reasonably priced taxi uphill each day. Public transport is not great and some areas are difficult to walk to. If the hotel could provide e-bikes to hire it would be a great opportunity and incentive to explore the wider areas of this fascinating city.

Excellent hotel on a hill over Melilla with marvellous views, only a few minutes walk from city center and harbour area. Nice room with super comfortable big bed. Excellent breakfast. Friendly and helpful staff. Good WiFi. By the way: Melilla with its beautiful Liberty Style buildings is a hidden gem and merits much more visitors.

Some people may say it's a bit dated. In my opinion not. The Parador has its history and the old furniture etc. gives the hotel much charme.

This is the second time I have visited Melilla. Before that I didn't have the opportunity to stay at the Parador De Melilla, I stayed at another hotel. But I kept walking and walking up the hill and into the grounds of the Parador De Melilla to see the magnificent view of the city itself, the port and the sea. A few years later, I decided to visit Melilla again. This time I stayed at the Parador De Melilla hotel. When I made my booking, I asked to be accommodated on the top floor. Unfortunately, I was accommodated on the 3rd floor out of 6. The view from the window and the balcony was stunning. The panoramic view of the city and the nearby park was excellent. Partial view of the port and the sea. The room is spacious. The bathroom is large. There is a small fridge. One slight drawback might be that the staff don't speak English at all or only partially, so for non-Spanish speakers this could be a personal disaster. The restaurant has an „A LA CARTE“ catering system and the menu is only in Spanish, so it was a bit of a vacuum from the start, as I didn't even know how to ask for food or get a cup of tea at breakfast. The same situation with not knowing the language happened during dinner. All sorts of translation apps on my phone came to the rescue. So the very next day I went to breakfast with a small baggage of Spanish words: omelette – „TORTILLA“, water – „AGUA“, and at dinner I asked for fish – „PESCADO“, vanilla ice-cream – „HELADO DE VAINILLA“, orange juice – „ZUMO DE NARANJA“, and what is most important, I was served everything and it was all delicious. Thank you to the wonderful hotel staff.

Amazing views from the balcony. A large room with comfortable beds. Very friendly and helpful staff throughout the hotel. a good selection of very tasty food in the restaurant and cafeteria.

Quite a steep walk back to the hotel from the centre, the price of amazing views I'm afraid. A slight criticism was that room and balcony furniture could us some TLC.

The need of some maintenance, with refreshing painting..

The view from our room was beautiful. Even though we were on the 2nd floor, it was still spectacular since it was on a hill. The staff is very friendly, especially Dina at the restaurant.
