Lovely interiors, very warm, big room, calm common areas to work and relax

Fridge was broken. Shower was a bit old and with very little pressure.

The building is beautiful. The room was small but beautiful. We enjoyed the pool (which is indoor but not heated, we assumed it was based on the description!) Some of the staff is very nice (some is horrible though!)

- No one at reception ever. Generally hard to find someone if you have questions or need anything. - Breakfast was poor: on the first day 1h before the end of the breakfast service we had to ask for bread (no bread was available, no pastries), and for juice (there was an orange juice machine but no oranges). The rest of breakfast was one type of ham, one type of industrial block cheese, and one type of sliced fruit. We were offered scrambled eggs after we had finished eating. On the second day, same issue with bread and oranges - but this time we were told they were flat out of oranges so no juice. We were not offered eggs and when we asked for it was not received well. Drinks (coffee but also water) needs to be ordered from staff and not all members of staff are very nice / polite or efficient (asked three times for a glass of water) - parking is small and it's difficult to park. Another guest had to ask us to move our car si that they could get out. - the building is old and there is very little sound proofing. You will hear the neighbours / sounds from the hallway. - at check out they tried to charge us extra for bringing a pet - as we had disclosed it at the time of booking and there is no mention of any additional fees for pets on booking we refused to pay - they didn't fight us on it.

the premises and the pool

I paid in cash on arrival and when i got home got money taken again from my account by booking difficult to contact hotel or recover cash paid. Make sure money goes through authorised vendor dont give money at hotel.

The facade of this beautiful building is lovely and the location is good for exploring The establishment however is a disgrace to the hospitality industry.

What a massive disappointment this establishment turned out to be. Other than the beautiful building, there is absolutely nothing positive we can say. I have waited for good WiFi reception..and to calm down before posting the review. Posada Real Group of "Hotels" .BE ASHAMED. . We will post our review on Trip Advisor as well. Booking.com .please.reconsider advertising this establishment. We drove from Portugal and arrived at the hotel mid afternoon. We were shown to our room, immediately noticing a large number of black plastic bags piled into the sitting room opposite our bedroom. We went went down the stairs up-which the odour of cooking and cigarette smoke wafted throughout the hotel.. We went to equest dinner, but had to go under a ladder which had been left leaning against the wall at tge top of the stairwell. ..I moved it..and we dodged around even more full black plastic bags. In the dining room where we eventually found the manager, we were told "No Dinners" this week as they had "Decided to close the restaurant for meals" as they were going to be busy " next week " However they were tucking into huge meals themselves including it seemed, one of their children. Cigarettes freely being smoked by 2 of the employees right there at the table in the establishment. Bedroom could have been lovely. But....Bathroom; no plug in the bath, we requested one numerous times to no avail. We resorted to using a plastic bag to keep water in the bath. Room ..serviced only once the entire time despite our asking what the heck was going on?.It was never cleaned again. We took our own rubbish out and helped ourselves to fresh towels. Wifi; appalling, we had to go outside onto the balcony. Mini bar...2 small waters. Never restocked. Hotel was LOCKED UP from early evening and every member of staff left the premises.

The building is historic.

No service, no coffee, hot water, tea or any drinks or food available. The hotel was deserted, with the advertised gym, bar, restaurant and reception all locked up. There was no toilet paper, we had to go in to town to buy it. There were no facilities to make or buy coffee or tea. The traffic was really noisy outside our bedroom. The rooms were in a pretty bad state of disrepair with loose and broken tiles on the floor, damp stains on the ceiling and walls, broken grab bars over the bath. Exposed electrical wires, a broken lamp next to bed, faulty sockets. Only one coat hanger in the closet. There appeared to be a lady who would pop-in early afternoon each day, who worked there, but apart from her, it reminded us of the hotel in the Shining. There was a dead cat on the path, just outside the front door for two days. We put her to rest, as couldn't bear to look at her, poor dead body any longer. There are 2 other hotels in town.
