Wow, what a find this hotel was! It was advertised on Booking.com as a 2* but the hotel say they are only a 1*. But they are more like a 3* and much better than some of the 3 stars we've stayed in. The hotel is very charming, attached to the town wall and with a front patio and rear garden/terrace. There are interior patios and sitting rooms and it's like a tardis inside. It's very easy to find and there is loads of free on-street parking around the hotel. The hotel does have private parking but it is only small and was full when we got there. Our room was lovely - simple but with everything we needed (plenty of wardrobe space) and exceptionally clean everywhere. There was plenty of wardrobe space, The staff were super friendly and the food in the bar/restaurant was first class. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and the aircon was excellent. Very well equipped for a 1*. The town is easy to walk round and there are lots of places to eat, both in the plazas (Grande and Chica) and in the newer town near Plaza Mayor. The Hotel Huerta Honda did nice food. We stayed on a Sunday in early July and it was very quiet so maybe a midweek stay would be better. All in all this is an excellent hotel that is very good value for money. We can't wait to return and will use it as a base to visit nearby towns/villages.

A fridge would have been useful but nothing else.

I chose this hotel as a good value stop-over on a journey and can't believe how lucky I was! Not only did it provide the comfortable room and good breakfast that I wanted, but Zafra old town was beautiful! The hotel is set in the old city walls and has lots of character. Zafra's old streets lead to a a wide square which was buzzing with life on the Sunday that I was there. I parked free just around the corner from the hotel (outside the school) and my car was fine. I was assured by the receptionist that they have never had a problem with guest's cars parked there

Can't fault it for the price. The hotel description is accurate and it was easy to find - I just put the hotel name into google maps.

We stayed here in 2024 and vowed we would be back as it's such a lovely little hotel. There really is nothing not to like. On this occasion we booked a room with a terrace and had a peaceful couple of hours before dinner enjoying a bottle of wine. The room was a good size and had a big, comfortable bed and pillows. The aircon was fab and there was a fridge. The shower was powerful and the towels big and fluffy. Although the hotel has a car park, it's very small and in actual fact there is lots of free parking around the hotel that the car park probably is an unnecessary extra expense. The food at the hotel is excellent and there are many places to enjoy a drink or a meal as it has extensive outside space, as well as an indoor restaurant. Breakfast is continental self-service and is included in the price. It was nicely laid out, with fresh orange juice and beautiful bread, cheese ham etc. This hotel has a special place in our hearts and the town itself is small but interesting, with some good bars, restaurants and architecture.

Nicely decorated with tasteful touches. Lovely garden. Nice area outside at the front where you could eat. Helpful staff. Very clean. Lovely lounge upstairs with comfortable sofas, lamps, books. Comfortable bed. I would like to give 9.5 points, but it doesn't have that option.

We were served breakfast but there was no menu and we don't speak Spanish, so we didn't understand the choices. Self-service would have been better. We copied others and had toast, butter, jam, orange juice and coffee. That seemed to be what others were having, so it was quite basic. However, later we saw some others eating ham, and fruit.

Good value for money and very helpful staff even through they did not speak any english. Evening meal was also good value and tasty

Unfortunately the GPS quoted on the confirmation from Booking.com, was incorrect, took us 15 miles up the motorway past the turning, ended up in a field, had to turn around and go back up the motorway, very upsetting as had had already travelled nearly 300 miles that day

Beautifully decorated building/rooms. Extremely tasteful decorations blending 2024 with medieval Spain. Very pleasant/friendly staff. Safe/relatively easy (usual tight streets/entrances) undercover parking in old stables.

Nothing. Except Zafra old town needs to catch up with the rest of Spain. Enjoy Spain in the 1960s/1970s whilst you can at the same time as staying at the 2024 Hotel Muralla. Excellent.

Beautiful garden and inner courtyard . Great little bar attached . The man who greeted us on arrival was super friendly, smiley, endearing and helpful. The rest of the staff a bit miserable unfortunately .

There is indoor space or seating on a front terrace. Service is friendly and efficient. Food and drinks all good. Dinner menu looked good. Very easy walk to town centre, less than 6 minute walk on the flat. Large secure parking area with very large parking spaces. Had first floor room with balcony and view over a little used attractive garden. Fridge in room.

It was in the centre of a small village and it has several choices of bars and places to eat. We found the whole experience very friendly and if we are ever in that area again we will definitely stay again. The host was excellent and we managed to park on the road at the side of the hotel which for us was important as we were traveling through Spain and had a lot of luggage so not far to walk with heavy bags. The hotel was very clean and seemed quite new. Very happy with our choice.

Everything was good for us. We have no complaints at all

A wonderful find, hotel has lots of charm, staff lovely, location excellent for bars but quiet, private secure parking paid and the room was the best we have stayed in this week. Will definately return to this hotel if we are passing
