Worth the money. Staffs were very friendly. Room got a stunning view. We booked a 2 large double bed room, it had a jacuzzi. We almost got an entire house for us, with a large hall space.

1. Location is good, 5-10 min walk from train station and restaurants 2. Owner is very accommodating and arranged tuk tuk at 4:45 to lipton’s seat for sunrise and packed breakfast with water for us. We walked down to the tea factory and took bus back to town. 3. Owner also recommended us how to take bus to our next destination to the coast! It was easy and saved us a lot of money. ( by car is 25000 rp and it costs 1500 rp for two ppl in the bus) though we don’t have suitcase but backpacks so ok for taking bus 4. The view is very nice though a lot of time is covered by clouds 5. Wifi and hot water work well. no fan/ac in the room but it was cold in March so i don’t think fan or ac needed 5. try green paradise restaurant which is good and cheap. The mint mist restaurant has a good view but more pricy

Very friendly and extraordinarily helpful owner - he knows the region perfectly and gave us a lot of recommendations for trips, transportation and restaurants. The view is amazing, breakfast is also good with lots of fresh fruit. The room was clean, but the whole area is just very misty and moist and you can see and feel that in the room. The windows are not the best so you also hear the street. The train station is very close by. In general I can recommend it, if you want to stay for a few nights. Haputale is a friendly town and great start point to explore the beautiful region, if you look for a less touristy alternative to Ella.

I made a late booking (and arrived even later) but the host was super nice: he answered my call (I had to use the number posted at the reception - (077) 779 4070 -, the one provided by Booking.com as contact number didn’t work), let me in, and offered a welcome tea and coffee. He was eager to give me advice regarding my plans (including the tip that there is a public bus from the main bus station at 7:30 am which brings you up to to a point from which Lipton’s Seat only a 2 km walk, and you can get there before the clouds) My room itself, a super deluxe room - which was unnecessariliy spacious for me, but I wanted space - was nice, clean and cozy, the bed comfy and had nice view. The breakfast was simple, but enough (toast, butter, jam, omlette and fruits) The bungalow has and entrance from both the upper and the lower street. It’s just a 750m walk from the train station (because you have to go around, but ask the host and he will suggest a shortcut at the back of the station, although it’s only recommended at daylight) or 550m from the bus station.

The bathtub was not usable (it seemed old and out of order for a long time).

The view from hotel is excellent ,also walkable distance to train station . If we travelling to Pattipola or Badulla side its easy location. We can travel by train.If we gone there by car it can park in hotel and then we can travel by train also.Haputhale town is very near ,we can buy our needs there.Rcommnded for nature lovers .Thanks for hotel owner and his wife. They are warmly welcoming all their guests .

Breakfast should be vary,all the days we had same breakfast. As I know they can give Vietnamese traditional soup for breakfast. Please pay attention about this matter.

I had the pleasure of staying at The Mist Bungalow in Haputale, and it was a good experience. The bungalow is charming, with breathtaking views of the misty hills that create a serene and tranquil atmosphere. What truly stood out was the hospitality of the owner, who was incredibly helpful and attentive throughout our stay. Their genuine care and willingness to assist made our visit even more enjoyable. Whether it was providing local tips or ensuring we were comfortable, their efforts were much appreciated. The Mist Bungalow is an ideal getaway for anyone looking to relax amidst nature while enjoying warm hospitality.

I recently stayed at this hotel and had a pleasant experience overall. The location is fantastic—very close to the city center, making it convenient to explore. The view from the property was stunning and added to the charm of my stay. The room was clean and well-maintained, which I appreciated. The staff was friendly and helpful, making the stay even more enjoyable.

However, there were a couple of downsides: the room didn’t have a TV or heater, which would have been nice to have, especially during colder days or for some entertainment.

This is not a fancy hotel but the hosts were super welcoming. Very big room and gigantic bathroom with hot water. Balcony with a great view to the valley. Host went out of his way to help and his spouse even spoke some French since she's Vietnamese (we are native French speakers from Canada). The host rented us motorbikes to go explore the region. All in all it was a great stay and though the little town of Haputale is not quite pictturesque, there are a few shops and inexpensive restaurants. If you enjoy places like Ella, you will not like Haputale but we did.

Breakfast was served outside and it's a bit coldish in the morning. The hot tea made us quickly warm though.

We had a fantastic stay – this is SUCH a lovely place. The rooms a lovely – sparkling clean, comfortable and the views from the various terraces are astounding. We received a warm welcome from the couple who own and run the place, we loved the relaxed atmosphere and felt very much at home. The owner speaks good English and knows all there is about the area and will help you with your plans. We really loved being here, and in Haputale, which was a lovely, calm alternative to Ella. We recommend this place without hesitation and will come back to stay if we do get the chance – I hope we will 😊

There is absolutely nothing we did not like.

Friendly family who welcomed us with a tea as soon as we arrived. Great views from our balcony and an ideal location. The hosts were super helpful in helping us plan our time in Haputale and provided scooter rental and great advice. The room was very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was amazing and we enjoyed having breakfast with such wonderful views. A great stay with very good value for the money we paid.
