The apartment we stayed in at the Lodge is really large, with a huge kitchen/sitting room. The two rooms are small but this was ok. The kitchen is well equipped, and we always had dinner at home. In the supermarket (100 meters away) you can find literally everything. Longyearbyen with the polar summer and the many excursions has been a fantastic stop on our vacation. The apartment was really quiet - we were on the second floor on the back of the building. I would love to be there also in winter.

The windows in the sitting room were stucked and could not open properly. The remote control was not functioning - at the reception they gave us a second one, that still didn't work. That, however, was a minor issue, as the weather was so good that we stayed outside most of the time. (A suggestion: an induction hob instead of the ceramic hob would be really great - much easier to use, control and clean, and it doesn't get hot)

The apartment was clean, large and had comfortable beds. A good kitchen with everything needed. Lovely views.

Breakfast (at additional cost) was expensive for what was provided (even at Svalbard prices) - £80 for four people As mentioned in other reviews, the pictures on the 2-bed unit did not match the actual apartment. Bedroom 1 did not have the extra bunk beds. There was a sofa bed in the living room. As we were a group of 4 it didn't cause a problem for us but it might for others so am mentioning it in the reviews. Also, as mentioned by others, there is no lift in the 3 storey apartment block so cases have to be carried up.

A very great location, near to everything inside Longyearbyen. The staffs are very friendly, there're free luggage storage, and free coffee, tea, croissant in the lobby. Breakfast are optional.

We ordered a 6 people room for 4 people, and the pictures on booking.com are for 6. But the time we arrived, there are only 4 beds with an additional sofa bed, which is still OK but a little not what we're expecting.

Good to have an apartment in Longyearbyn because restaurants are so so, and expensive. This apartment is 50m from the supermarket. Good beds, dishwasher, laundry machine. All very handy. Good with two separate bedrooms.

Longyearbyn is expensive and this place is not an exception. We enjoyed, but the furnishing is pretty basic given the roughly 500 USD 7 night cost.

Well equipped appartement, perfect when are you a family or small group. Very well located close to shops, musea and restaurants. You can have a good breakfast or diner in the hotel Polfareren (same owner) next door or cook your own meals.

Location in the center of LYR Quality if the apartment/room and cleanness

- No elevator to access the second floor with heavy suitcases in the Lodge - Suitcase disappeared from luggage room (no controlled access maybe risk) thanks to airtag and call of front desk it came back as it was taken by other guests.

- Best location right in the middle of the main street in the town center. Close to everything. Shops, restaurants, bars, and supermarkets within just few steps. - Fully equipped kitchen with full sized fridge, induction stove, oven, etc. - Washing machine with washing powder and clothing rack provided - Spacious living room and dining area - Spacious bathroom with heated floor

- No microwave. Dish washer was not working. - Both bedrooms were a bit small - No elevator. Spiral stairs not good for heavy luggage.

Right in the centre of town. Nice lounge area. 2nd toilet

Second bedroom suitable only for 2 twin beds separated - very small room. Windows were cracked. Hallways of building bit shabby Very noisy from 8am due to building works next to the hotel Key code from hotel next door.

Gorgeous little apartment that is nicer than even the photos suggest. Fully equipped kitchen that has everything you need to cook and really "live" there. Fantastic location above Svalbar pub which is on the main street, so minutes walk from supermarket, bars, restaurants, shops and close to museums and other sightseeing.

I was there in the dark season and the apartment could have benefited from more lighting. Not so much a sun lamp (although that would be fantastic!) but just some more overhead lighting. Bath/shower seemed to be flooding a bit. Washing machine but no way to dry clothes after eg. drying rack or dryer so didn't utilise.

The apartment was quite spacious. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils and cutleries. Remembering some of the reviews, we took some ingredients with us and brought some from the supermarket nearby. We had two bedrooms, but one the bedrooms did not have a closet. The apartment was almost always at a comfortable temperature. We would love to be back here. Sound and air insulations were really good. We had a good overall stay!

The smaller room could have had a closet. There were smaller problems, but the hotel promptly sent a handyman to take a look at the problem. We knew the cleaning would be performed only after our stay, but the toilet should have been cleaned every three or four days, or there should be a liquid for us to do it ourselves. But these were small inconveniences, and I wouldn't hold it against the property.
