The best location in Longyearbyen, if you ask us. The hotel is just opposite to Visit Svalbard office, hence a primary stop for all types of facilities, Flybussen (airport bus), adventure bookings and pick-ups, etc. It is 2 minutes walk from the only supermarket, and next doors to a lot of really good restaurants and pubs. The room was quite spacious, the bathroom was well appointed with toiletries and a bathtub, really clean within and in the corridors, and well maintained. The lounge area beside the reception was extremely cozy with a fireplace and a lounge menu (plus bar), as well as 24/7 availability of the reception desk and free tea/coffee/hot-chocolate (plus cookies/cakes at times). The shoe closet at the entrance was quite convenient, and so seemed the luggage deposit (we did not use it). The staff at the property were extremely courteous and helpful; thanks to them we could see the Northern Lights in the middle of our Christmas Buffet dinner. They encouraged us to go out and enjoy the lights for more than half an hour and stayed back longer to let us finish our meal afterwards. Really appreciated their hospitality!

The only nitpick we have is about the restaurant for meals -- there was no option for lunch and the dinner is slightly high-end for the property. We only opted for the Christmas Buffet dinner, which was pretty nice, and the regular breakfast buffets, which were quite alright. However, this is not an issue at all, as there are several good bars and restaurants within 2-3 minute walking radius of this hotel. The other point would be light during the winter months -- the property is really well-lit and so are the surroundings -- this may be good for you, but if you want a darker surroundings for the Norther Lights in winter, you may opt for a more secluded location. That said, we had two evenings of Norther Lights clearly visible from right in front of the hotel! :-)

Great central location. My room was in the building opposite reception on the second floor. There is a lift, but it’s not a standard one and initially didn’t seem available for guests, fortunately a staff member happened by and showed me how to use it, saving me from hauling multiple heavy bags up the stairs. Breakfast buffet is small but offers a decent selection.

Reception is very compact and gets crowded when the airport bus drops off new arrivals. The problem is worsened by guests keeping their luggage with them in the queue rather than placing it aside, making entry through the space and from outdoors difficult, especially as boots must be removed on arrival, and restricting access to the luggage room. That room often fills up as many guests check out at midday but don’t leave until later in the day. With no staff managing the space, bags are stored haphazardly and inefficiently. Some signage and active staff direction would make a big difference.

Breakfast was good and has enough variety considering Longyearbyen is so far away and food has to be flown in. Hotel location is right in the town centre and just opposite the Tourist Visitor Centre. Staff is courteous and friendly. I stayed end of May where there is 24 hours sunlight and thankfully, the curtains are total block out. My room has a great view of the

Room is surprisingly small in real life compared to photos shown online. But it is not a big deal as I was out exploring and on tours throughout the day. Room is a little warm and stuffy and need to open up the window for air circulation. No kettle in the room to make some hot water.

Very well located at the end of the main street, good sized room with a comfortable bed. I enjoyed the lovely views from my window. The staff were friendly and helped if they could All day coffee was appreciated after being outside.

breakfast was average, most mornings the hot food was in fact barely warm, but the selection was good. I would have appreciated more information about the town other than just tours. One thing I found difficult ( I am a mature women) was the pickup point for tours was up a small but icy slope with no steps or handrail for assistance.

Third time in Svalbard but first time staying in this hotel. Check in was easy and the staff were friendly. I was upgraded to a deluxe room through Booking.com which was fabulous. The location is great as it's right in the centre of town. Really enjoyed my stay. Would like to give an extra shout out to Sive, Junnel and Febie who went the extra mile to make our stay most enjoyable.

Unfortunately I think the hotel let's itself down with breakfast. There was an excellent choice and the food quality was very good but on each of the 4 mornings, myself and other guests had to ask for cutlery, milk, bread etc etc. There was always something that you had to wait for. The staff were great and did their best but I felt it was understaffed.

Excellent location, close to everything. Breakfast was nice. Bedroom comfortable. The staff was overall extremely kind and service-oriented.

The shower flow was very low, couldn't even fight its own gravity. The local habit of taking one's shoes off made it very inconvenient to go to the main building from the separate building just a couple meters away (going in slippers from room to entrance, putting on shoes, walking 10 meters, taking shoes off, putting on slippers). The menu at the restaurant is excellent, but very limited and with only an evening service.

Great location. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good standard fare. Room was good size. The staff sorted out a quiet work area with good WiFi for my work/business calls. Dinner at the restaurant was good for a night in... interesting local menu options.

My room was at the end of the hotel so the WiFi was spotty. The public area of the hotel is small and is more of a drop off/pick up spot than a lounge area. Some of the fixtures in the room need a little TLC.

Hotel is amazing, from the lovely staff that welcomes you at check-in, the housekeeping, the people at the breakfast, everyone always welcoming and with a smile. The spaces are carefully design to feel relaxed from the fire, to the music, everything is great. Location is amazing, in the heart of the town. Breakfast is outstanding, lots of options and everything fresh and tasty. Rooms are very clean and spacious.

I am very picky about my sheets and these weren't very soft. I prefer higher quality bed sheets soft to the touch.

What an amazing hotel! We felt very comfortable throughout our stay. All rooms are heated and very cozy. The location is also perfect, close to everything. The rooms are very clean and cozy too. The bathroom is amazing with heated floors! We really liked it! Ideal for leaving wet clothes and having them dry the next morning. The view from the room is also very beautiful. The breakfast is delicious with a variety of hot and cold options. Many thanks to the entire staff, especially the restaurant staff, for always being kind and smiling. This hotel is definitely an excellent choice if you are going to Svalbard.

I liked everything

Good location at the top of the shopping street and across from the visit svalbard tourist information office. It's also a stop for the airport bus.

Our room was facing the shopping street and the TV screen from the Visit Svalbard office was very bright, makes it difficult to look at the night sky when you're trying to Northern Light spotting. Would have preferred to have a kettle for water in the room, the "tea"option from the machine comes out with a trace of coffee flavour, which I don't like. Luckily could go downstairs and fill my thermos with hot water.
