The staff were awesome especially Graham and the front desk he was lovely and always went above and beyond for us. Ana and the ladies were also super attentive. Its nice to stay somewhere where the staff are friendly and always smiling. Although the rooms were out dated but the place was clean and tidy and spacious. The aircon was our savior in the heat. Because Emerald is also a restaurant we decided to order in for our Sunday lunch and the food was so so good.

How the room did not have everything it should've had for eg there was one teacup and one mug and tea but not kettle The fridge was not working properly. Soap dispenser in bathroom was broken and looked terrible. We were only given one tiny soap no other toiletries. These extras make a difference for us.

The staff at the Emerald made our stay so comfortable. They were so kind and helpful no matter what our request. The room was very large and cool, with a good size bathroom. It also had a small fridge, hanging space and a huge bed! The on-site restaurant was an extra bonus, and served delicious food. The location was relatively central. easy to walk along the ocean front or walk to the main part of town.

I like the property even though it had some small problems like the toilet door handle was broken and the little fridge need a new one but we forgot to mention it to reception as were hardly in the room only to shower and sleep.

Perfect location for the town centre plus facing the beach. The staff are fantastic and it’s all very clean. The Chinese restaurant in the hotel is excellent and even more useful on a Sunday when the whole island is shut. It gets mad busy then. Rooms cleaned daily and fresh towels every day if you want them. A great stay we loved it

Check in was simple and friendly. The reviews talking about cleanliness etc must’ve had bad experiences because our room was spotless, clean bathroom and clean bedding. The room was a lot bigger than we were expecting. Breakfast was simple toast, fruit and coffee but worked well and the location is walkable to most places in Nuku’alofa.

Not sure what it would’ve been like to stay long term as we only stayed a night.

Continental breakfast is as what is as expected, we only had it once during our stay at Emerald. We didnt mind missing out on and all. Emerald hotel location is in excellent location for Ferry Terminal and town (so to speak).

The restaurant side of things was overpriced in ratio to the servings when we did dinner during our stay at Emerald.

Very good complimentary breakfast. Great food in the Emerald Restaurant. Staff friendly and cleaning staff very accommodating and helpful. House keeping was very good. Nia gave me an upgrade to Sea View room on arrival which was great.

Very busy time for Tonga with lots of pressure on accommodation. I moved on last day to another room for an extra night but that was fine as I appreciated having the room. The accommodation was fairly expensive but it was peak season with lots going on.

The location is perfect for our needs. The staff are always friendly and helpful. There is a restaurant on site which serves a light breakfast which is more than ample. The restaurant serves high quality, generous meals. We have been using this hotel for a number of years and always feel welcome.

Wish they had a swimming pool!!!!

The Staff are very friendly and accomodating. Kuya guard was really very kind to give me some of his paracetamol when i was feeling really bad. It was very early in the morning, around 1:30AM. I could not sleep because of muscle and joint pain. The medicine was an instant relief.

The Food serving is actully too much for a Filipino type of meal. But it’s not really a bad thing. 🙂 It would be very nice if they serve a solo meal, like a set meal. Like a small portion of rice paired with a small portion of meat and vegetables. :-)

the staff service was excellent, always willing to go above and beyond to help. my children loved the location. we frequently walked across the road to snorkel or walked into town to get food or go shopping.

The hotel was a victim of the 2022 tsunami and it was clear that there were scars on the hotel from that natural disaster. however, the scars add character and a story of bravery, so this is not a criticism, simply an observation.
