The Takaev Cave House is located in the older part of Uchisar, directly under the spectacular castle. Having seen both Uchisar and Goreme, I would strongly recommend Uchisar - Goreme is much more touristy (and frankly more tacky) than Uchisar was has largely retained much of its originality, especailly near the hotel. Parking is available on the (allegedly one-way) street if you are arriving by car, usually within a very short walk of the hotel. Access to the hotel and to all the rooms is down some fairly steep steps. The staff are undoubtedly the highlight of the hotel, particularly Aziz ad Darin - they were helpful, attentive and provided an excellent experience and their English is great. The room was lovely, with a window opening out onto the valley so that you could watch the balloons at sunrise (having been woken by the call to prayer from a very adjacent mosque!). The bathroom was well equipped and functioning, although the shower could have done with some restoration to sort a very leaky shower head and a broken bracket. The bed was large and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent (although much the same every day) and it was a real treat to sit on the balcony in the sun every morning. We greatly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend the hotel.

The location of the hotel is excellent with a beautiful view of the Pigeon Valley and the Goreme Hills. The breakfast terrace has the best view. The room was large and nicely decorated. The staff were very friendly and helpful with any requests you may have. Excellent English and easy to communicate with. We had some problems with the shower and it was fixed within a day. The breakfast was very good.

There is no housekeeping and this is not ideal for a 4 night stay as the floor in this cave room gets dusty very quickly. This is partly our fault as they would have cleaned the room had we asked. However, a quick daily cleaning of the floor and taking out the rubbish seems reasonable for this type of hotel with nice suites.

What a reception! What a hospitality!! Eren, the hotel manager was exceptional. When we decided to book in Takaev, we messaged them on Whatsapp. Eren replied immediately, answering all our questions, and showed us a live video of the room, gave us examples of activities and was very responsive. The most important thing about Eren is that he speaks English fluently, which made the communication with him easier and smooth (unlike the majority the hotels here). He took care of all the activities and reservations to insure providing us with a good service and avoid scammers and black market prices. He also recommended us a taxi driver called Tanar (phone number: +90 537 592 66 21) to avoid getting scammed. Anything we needed during our stay, Eren was there for us. The room was clean, and the cleaning service was daily and on time. When it comes to the breakfast, it was always served on time and super delicious. We felt as if we are home and part of the hotel family. The hotel has a breathtaking view, you can see all the valleys from the front and Uchisar castle from the back. Oggy a cute man was there to help us and serve us. He is always smiling and ready to see what we want. Therefore, if you are willing to visit to Cappadocia and spend a good time without any worry, do not hesitate to reserve at Takaev Cave Hotel. And finally, Eren, you’re a gem !!!

Takaev Cave House is a truly unique and memorable experience. The traditional rooms, carved into the rock, are beautifully designed and meticulously clean, offering a genuine taste of Cappadocian architecture. The location is perfect, right in the heart of the village, providing stunning views of the breathtaking Cappadocia landscape. The breakfast is delicious, with a selection of local specialties that add to the charm of the stay. Aziz, the host, was incredibly hospitable and made us feel at home throughout our visit.

Amazing location, wonderful helpful staff and great value for authentic Turkish Cave Hotel in Cappadocia. The manager Aziz assisted us with all tour bookings and airport transfers...he is very professional & knowledgeable....my advice is do as he suggests 👌Sadly other guests that tried to save $50 on tours got cancelled and missed out on hot air balloon ride 😔 which is a must do at sunrise!

It was a fabulous room with fantastic views over the valley and the balloons at sunrise were magnificent. The bath was great, the cats, the lady serving the breakfast and the manager did his best to get us a balloon ride at very short notice and it was a fantastic balloon ride, with the best pilot ever !!!

The housekeeping - the lady needs training, as she forgot to clean the room, or she would clean the room and leave the dirty cups/glasses behind, or she takes the coffee cups away and don't replace them for the next morning. She was a wonderful person who taught us Turkish words, she just needs training.

The location is excellent because it allows you to have a beautiful view of the valleys. Azis and his brother, all of them, are helpful, kind, attentive, they made our stay more enjoyable. The additional services offered by the hotel are with good companies at good prices and excellent quality. The toilet and facilities are welcoming, reserved, comfortable, neat. I completely recommend this place to stay and get to know Cappadocia wonderfully.

10/10 experience. When I arrived at the hotel, I was welcomed by the hotel manager Eren (pronounced Er-raan not Er-in :) ). He spent 20 min with me asking me about what I’d to see in Cappadocia. He then gave me a map and wrote out all the places I could go that would interest me. He never tried to sell me anything but told me that if I needed tours/activity/food recommendations, he'd be happy to give suggestions. He also upgraded my room, free of charge. The rooms are beautiful and clean. Breakfast was sooo good, I wish I could have taken the cook back home to Australia with me. On one of the days, I asked the hotel if they could help arrange a driver for me for the day so I could explore some of the mountains and historic sites that were further away. Eren matched me with Taner: driver, tour guide, hiker and adventure-man and all round wonderful person. We had a wonderful and adventure-packed day together :) The location was perfect and the view from the terrace is breathtaking. The best hikes are directly in front of the hotel (love valley and pigeon valley) and Goreme is only 5 min drive away. When I’d get back from a big day of hiking the staff were quick to offer tea, coffee and chats. I made great friends at this hotel an by the end of my stay I was devastated that I had to leave, and I’m already making plans to return. Thank you Eren and the Takaev team and thank you Taner for making Cappadocia an unforgettable experience!

This is our honeymoon trip, and we were very happy and surprise by the upgrading room type. host is very polite and hospitality. We book servers local tour from the hotel. the price here are much resonable.(compare to the price in Taiwan) the breakfast is not bad actually, there’s small rooftop for photo shooting, you can see lots of hot air balloons at morning , it’s unbelievable amazing experience! Highly recommended!!
