Beautiful restoration of old building. Room was very big and beds were very comfortable. Staff was helpful and professional. Tavern was lively and bartender/manager Jesse was super efficient and friendly. Loved the Indian food incorporated into the menu.

Bathroom was very small with not enough shelving, but that is mostly to be expected in an historic hotel. The most difficult thing for me was that the room was dark and because the windows were covered with curtains that you could not open because they were fabric on a rod, you could not get any natural light. Also, the windows have not been upgraded so they are covered in a heavy plastic, but even that would have let the light in if I could have opened the curtains.

Portions at breakfast and dinner were large - high quality, very tasty food. Good service - all good! Rene and Jesse were outstanding in check in and bar service respectively. The lobby is storied - worth the trip. Amazing border history. As a Viet Nam veteran, the veterans exhibit is exceptional. Keep this!!! Douglas is a town that cares....

Self service elevator would be helpful; need to fix hot water/tub handles for better water flow in the shower.

Very nice old hotel lobby and restaurants are pretty awesome. The staff were super friendly everyone we met seem super happy to help with anything. The bartender made my friend a custom drink, which she really loved.

The rooms aren’t quite up to par with the lobby in Restaurant, but still quite comfortable and very clean. A bit disappointing that the café/soda fountain was closed in the morning, we work have had breakfast there.

Beautiful early 20th century hotel, with all the elegance of its glory years and all the amenities we've come to expect. Great service, quiet, comfortable with a restaurant and bar on site (closed Sun/Mon). Beautiful terrace to sit and relax.

If we really need to complain - the pillows were like oversized rocks.

One of the nicest experiences in years. A gem of a hotel, the staff are extremely helpful. The restaraunts on site are fabulous and the value was eye-popping! The dinner menu was a treat to choose from and delicious, yes! Breakfast was the same in the cafe, smoked salmon, hello! The remodeling was a success as the rooms are very nicely appointed, comfortable and well laid out. In spite of being nearly a century old the building is very well maintained and the charm and history well preserved. Looking forward to many more stays in the future

When you step inside this hotel get ready to be wowed. Well worth traveling to Douglas just to experience it. The Art Nouveau lobby and staircase are absolutely breathtaking. My wife and I couldn't stop taking photos. The restaurant, cafe and tavern in the hotel are all also fantastic. Definitely the most impressive hotel in all of Arizona and one of the most beautifully historic hotels in the whole country.

The cafe and the Tavern were closed! Big disappointment as we planned to have dinner in Douglas. The front desk guy was very nice but only had fast food recommendations, none were suitable and we could not find a real restaurant to dine in. huge disappointment

This place is unbelievable! Celebrated my t 80th Birthday there. Super accommodations and be sure to try the smoky old fashioned. Thank you for making my 80th memorable

The “ambiance” is truly amazing. We have stayed at the Gadsden several times over the years and it is always reassuring to know that this fabulous historical hotel is still there. Bravo for the preservation work!
