We knew that Heidelberg was a charming historic inn right on the Main Street in June Lake. We didn't know that they had old school ice cream socials, coffee in the morning and a dry sauna as well as the hot tub. Then when we had a medical emergency, we were blown away by how helpful and understanding the staff were. They called 911 for us, and supervised the arrival of the emergency personnel, checked in with us later, and helped us out when we lost our ski locker key and needed a little later check out. In short, the staff was amazing!
Nothing. The room was spacious and well equipped, the views were fantastic, the food options were great and the staff were amazing. We can't wait to return!

We (2 adults, 2 kids) loved everything about the Heidelberg Inn. We’re German so the cozy, rustic interiors made us feel right at home. Since the first day was rainy and we couldn’t ski much, we appreciated the spa with the jacuzzi & the beautiful views of the mountain panorama, the dry sauna (thank you for the sauna towels), and the kids loved the game room. The 2 bdr condo was perfect for us to relax, play games, and make ourselves breakfast (the General Store, a 3min walk away, had everything we could have asked for). For dinner we walked across the street to the Balanced Rock Mexican Cantina and got a 10% discount since we stayed at the Heidelberg Inn. Check-in was professional and easy, and the entire staff at the hotel was very welcoming and super nice. There is convenient parking right by the entrance, and we got to use the carts to bring our luggage right into the room. All in all, we had a fabulous stay at the Heidelberg Inn, and can’t wait to go back!
Everything was perfect!

This is definitely an older lodge with an outdated (but also sort of "historical") look. We had a two-bedroom unit with kitchenette, dining table and living area. Our beds and bedding were comfortable, and we had everything we needed. Except for the very noise fridge, it was a quiet unit. The view was lovely, and it was a good location for our plans.
The toaster didn't work, but we had one in our car, so that was not a problem to us. We were told the toaster will be replaced before the next guest arrives. The only annoyance was the noisy fridge. It didn't bother us in the bedrooms, but, if the fridge was running, it could be too loud to enjoy reading or relaxing in the living area.

There is no Restaurant a the hotel but they do provide complimentary coffee at 8 am.
Nothing! This is a historical hotel (1926) and is well kept. Keeping this in mind, it doesn't have all the frills of a newer hotel. The outdoor jacuzzi is great and has a beautiful view of the Sierras. They even have a sauna downstairs. For those who like to cook, the hotel has provided two outside grills. It also has a beautiful fireplace in the center of the lobby where you can hang out and talk to other guests after a great day outdoors.

Stayed in June Lake area for its proximity to Tioga Pass. Heidelberg Inn was one of the top choices. The Inn itself gives a classical ski chalet feel. The 1-bedroom is spacious and has a full-function kitchen. Groceries can be found in a nearby General Store. Staff are friendly, and lucky us as we were there on a free-ice cream day!
This is made known repeatedly so we were prepared and made sure the disruption is minimal. There was a temporary electricity cutoff during one of the nights.

We liked the spaciousness of the room, the historic vibe of the inn, and the views over town and to June and Gull Lakes. Location was great for walking through town and as a base for eastern Sierra fall adventures.
Not the fault of the inn, but we hit town when most of the restaurants were taking a break between the busy summer season and the coming winter ski season. And while not a problem for us, the stairs to the second floor are rather steep (and there is no elevator).

The accommodation was immaculately clean and offered excellent value for the price. I had no complaints about the room, and the communal area created a warm and inviting atmosphere. The staff were friendly and accommodating, happy to assist with any needs or requests.
The room is slightly dated if you are worried about more modern features. However, it was still clean and organized so it did not have a big impact.

Historic Inn. Loved the interior, 360 fireplace, vintage photos. Views and proximity to June Mountain, Carson Peak and June lakes are spectacular. Large room, labeled a condo, but is really a hotel room. Very nice kitchen with full size refrigerator and bar top separating kitchen from sleeping/living area. Front desk staff are excellent, very helpful. Includes outside hot tub, inside sauna. Spend a day on the snow, return for a sauna or spa, then a hot toddy in front of the stone fireplace. Wonderful.

location location location. in addition, the rooms are well appointed, though they may be dated, the attention to details made our stay comfortable - excellent. example - magnifying mirror in the bathroom, step stool to reach top shelf in kitchenette and the well supplied utensils & dishware - a very practical efficient kitchen.

I think what brings us back every year is the old world charm that has been maintained. I hope that new ownership will expand upon the history of the hotel while upgrading the furniture in rooms. Like the evening events such as movie night, ice cream social night and root beer float night. Liked morning coffee but wish it was available longer and with wider selection of creamers.
Room beds, sofas and carpet need to be upgraded which I think will happen now with new ownership. Bring back Heidelberg shirts for purchace
