We just returned from a 7 day stay on Park Plaza Lodge and I couldn’t recommend it enough! When searching for acommodations in LA we had a bit of a tough time with finding a hotel that didn’t have a overwhelming overload of negative reviews. Park Plaza Lodge had little to no negative reviews and had incredibly met our expectations. The location is perfect, since it is a short walk - 15 min approx - from The Grove/Farmer’s Market. Being so close to those two landmarks facilited our stay, since we had a bunch of options of places to eat - specially for breakfast! It also is just a short walk from a Trader Joe’s and a 7-Eleven. The region felt very safe and busy, we sometimes got home from the Grove after 10pm-12pm and had no problems walking around there even in these late hours. We could get around easily from there to all the landmarks we explored - everyone says that you can be in LA without a car, but we could easily transit from the hotel to most places with visited by only catching 1 bus (Hollywood, Melrose Trading Post, Downtown LA). For farthest locations - Santa Monica, Venice, Burbank and Griffith Park - it required more than one bus (or 2 buses + metro, specifically for Griffith and Burbank), but either way we got around very easily from the hotel. The bus stop we used for most of these places was next to Farmer’s Market, but there is a bus stop in the hotel block as well. The staff is pleasant and helpful - they helped us with phone charger adapters, since the standard from our country is different from the US, and they were able to lend us two adapters. The room is rather big as well as the bathroom, which makes it really comfortable to store bags and take up all the space needed. It also has really big windows which makes the room bright and charming! Would definitely recommend staying at the Park Plaza Lodge and when in LA, I would definitely stay there again.

The location was outstanding. Breakfast/lunch restaurant next door. Nice Thai restaurant next door to that. LA County Art Museum, La Brea Tar Pits and the Academy Awards Museum all within a mile, very easy walk. the Grove upscale mall and The Farmers Market, with many restaurants, are 3 blocks away. A 7/11 is a block away. Had tile floor vs. carpet. Nice in this weather. Very small pool but would feel great in hot weather. This is not a fancy hotel but clean and safe. I would definitely return.

No elevator to second floor.

Perfect location to visit family at Park La Brea as well as enjoy the Grove and Farmer's Market. Staff was friendly, helpful, and competent; they kindly gave us a room on the ground floor since my husband has a bad back and stored our baggage until 5 pm on the day we checked out. The room was clean and tastefully decorated with ample seating. Since this is a mid-century hotel, the walls and ceilings were not as well insulated as more recently built hotels; however, they have specified quiet hours and provided ear plugs should one be a light sleeper. Noise was not an issue for us. The adjacent restaurant for breakfast was very good.

Style of hotel is mid-century so a bit stark but it has comfortable furnishings and is cheery.

The location was excellent. Coffee Bean over the road and the Grove and restaurants and convenience stores within walking distance. Pretty much midway between most tourist attractions. The staff were all very friendly, and helpful. We were able to store our bags on the day we arrived and after we checked out. When I requested an electric jug and iron, both were provided without it being a problem. We also had a couple of parcels delivered to the hotel before we arrived and they were given to us when we checked in. Would happily stay here again.

It would have been handy to have a bedside drawer/table on each side of the bed.

Good value for monet comoare to other 2 star motels in L.A . Free parking was main reason for my booking. The room was nice. Location is also o.k with just 5 min walk to the Groove mall.

Smelly room... no any machines that you can buy drinks or snacks if you arrive in the middle of the night ( there is a seven elevn 2 min walk )

The Park Plaza Lodge is an hotel located in an excellent position: very close to LACMA Museum and others; it’s also near to “THE GROVE”, a beautiful mall open air, and to the “FARMERS’ MARKET”, where you can find all you need to eat and drink. At PPL you have the parking included: thing which is precious in Los Angeles. Rooms are wide, comfortable; the floor is in wood; the bathroom has wide shower box; finally, the bed is soft and comfortable. But the element which is winning is the staff: Robert and Ann are perfect home owners. They are kind and polite and, if you ask, they help you strongly: for example, they solve us a problem with a ferry ticket. All was perfect.

Nothing.

I liked everything. My room was large and very quiet. The bed was very comfortable. The food at the restaurant was excellent. Everyone working there has been very nice to me. I stayed 9 days and they made me feel right at home.

We found this very central with a beautiful big mall The Grove a block or so away, ubers anywhere were between $9 & $14 depending on times so was very conveniently located, with easy pick-up & drop-off area, good restaurant on site and coffee shop across the road with really good coffee

No lift so if elderly with baggage I'd advise to request a ground floor unit, it didn't bother us so its just an FYI, also, noise from passage is disturbing we had a screaming running toddler waking us up on the first morning, not sure why the sound comes through because the rooms seems pretty sound proof (might be the doors)

We stayed for 8 nights as a family of three and had a wonderful experience. The staff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, and our room was spacious and spotless. The location is great — just a short walk to a nice playground, The Grove, and plenty of other shops and restaurants. Although we didn’t get a chance to use the pool, we appreciated seeing it cleaned regularly. Parking always felt safe and convenient, and having a restaurant on-site was a huge plus. We truly have no complaints and would absolutely stay here again. Highly recommend!

This is a funky no frills hotel -- but it was fine for our needs and in a very good location near the Farmer's Market and the Grove. The front desk staff were lovely!

to get to our room we had to walk through an old hallway with a broken shade dangling on a door -- where workers were ironing and folding towels and a cart was stored most of the day. That particular area needs some refurbishing. The rooms were updated but the hallway leading up to them was not. a big oversight. Seems like a quick fix to me but that area felt really bizarrely neglected
