Hotel stay was excellent, but restaurant service was a bit spotty this time. After our cocktails, the salad arrived promptly, but we had barely taken a few bites and our meal showed up. We asked it to be sent back so we could enjoy the salad, but when we were ready for its return, the beef was no longer medium rare. It was still a good meal, but watching the progress of our eating at the table would have helped the servers to deliver food at a more leisurely pace. They also did not notice that our two glasses of wine had come, so two more glasses of wine showed up, which we had not ordered and did not want. It went back, too. We had pointed out when we arrived that we’d been driving all day and wanted to have a leisurely dinner, so this was less relaxing than our previous meals with you. We will be back, but we will not order our full meal right away in order to avoid the unwelcome speedy service.

I loved the charm of this place, which offers a surprisingly peaceful courtyard and mission revival vibe right off I-5. Dinner was tasty and the wine museum, which you can visit at any time, was interesting. I was just stopping on my way through, but could imagine this as a good base for a romantic weekend.

If you're just looking for a place off the highway to sleep, you can no doubt find something more affordable, but it felt worth a little extra for the unique history (not an actual mission, but the spirit it was built in felt similarly ambitious) and non-chain atmosphere of this place.

The beauty of the property, surrounding greenery, fountains, Koirala ponds and the many things to do ie. Horse shoes, pool, sauna, fitness center, many outdoor family games, tennis courts, basketball, Fire pits with smore kits at the market store, small museums for learning about historic winery operations etc. Great place for dogs with a sign in sheet for dogs at the entrance and complimentary biscuits. Areas for dogs to walk and go potty. They can sit outside at the restaurant when you eat.

Breakfast ended at 9am, but no one told me this so I was bummed when we got there at 0910am and they said breakfast was over because they were getting ready for 11am brunch set up. I wish someone would have told me when we checked in about these hours so I could have gotten there before breakfast hours ended.

Nice clean rooms, very pretty exterior to the hotel. Tip - the best Mexican food truck opposite - La Jalisciense - worth the trip just for that place. We only did an overnight but think with a warmer pool it would be a lovely weekend break. Also Pea Soup Andersons for breakfast nearby is amazing as a tourist site in itself (pretty unique decor and really lovely staff)

Freezing pool, which was a shame as the kids couldn't use it - in August. Would have been much better value to include breakfast.

We requested and paid for a room with a balcony, which was great for my husband, who likes to sit outside and chill. The room was right next to an entrance, which made us think it would be noisy, but actually we were quite undisturbed. The room was clean, pleasant and was easy to access from the parking lot. The staff were kind and accommodating. We also ate at the restaurant on-site with our three-year-old and they were conscientious to seat us away from people who were having more romantic meals. Also, the food was pretty delicious and reasonably priced.

I can't think of anything that I didn't like about this stay.

Hotel Mission de Oro is our regular stop on our drive from Oregon to Southern CA. It is conviently located right off of I5 and there is parking right in front of the units. We also travel with our dog and we can take him with us to dine at the onsite restaurant as long as we sit outside. There are interestings things to see and do but we usually just spend the night and head out early the next morning. Highly recommend.

This place is totally different from what I remember 10 years ago. What a difference in new ownership, staff, facilities, appearance, presentation, it was amazing! I planned a hunting trip with my family and they all the accommodations I asked for with room location, boat parking and pet friendly for my furry babies. This place is in the centered near local fishing, hunting and nature trial location. With a great restaurant on site which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. We are differently coming back and tell everyone about this location.

The highway noise but I think finishing the green house will help or adding more tree shrub to lighten to noise. Maybe adding outside speakers near green house facing towards hotel adding natural sound.

The grounds of this hotel are just beautiful and well maintained! We found our beds and pillows to be excellent and extremely comfortable! Location was convenient. Plenty of hot water! Coffee and nondairy creamers available 24/7. The restaurant’s food was also excellent! Plenty of parking… very clean!

I know that this is being picky, but in our room the tub was so tall that it was hard getting in and out. No handles to help. Also, when we turned on the heater it smelled like it was burning! So we turned it off and stayed cold all night. Very, very old individual heating units in each room. Hotel is old, but most things have been replaced and redone.

A full service resort with great landscape and a wonderful art collection. The room was very nicely furnished and clean. The bath area was large with a walk in shower and plenty of room....included a full size wall mirror! The grounds are wonderfully landscaped and very well maintined and the restaurant and bar. Pool area is large and attractivly furnished. The hotel has gone to great length to diminish the road noise generated by the I5.

The in room refrigerator made an odd noise...I guess nothing can be perfect.

So many fun things to see, full size chess, bocce ball, the koi ponds, fire pits, and walking around the grounds was great for the kids. There was even a wine museum that was just so interesting and great touch to our stay. Oh, and best of all there was a bar and Lounge that was full of comfortable seating, great art decorated on the walls with an awesome bartender. Don’t forget to try the breakfast at the Kitchen, it was to die for! We have traveled to 38 states, and 16 countries and this was hands down the best hotel/lodging experience I’ve had EVER. We will be returning and highly recommend!

That bar closed too early, but we understand people are there to sleep too. Lol
