Very nice hostel in the heart of Venice Beach with a walkable distance to Santa Monica Pier. The hostel had a free little breakfast including bagels, cream cheese and juice. We had a private room with a shared bathroom. Plenty of bathrooms/showers always available and clean. Definitely value for money! The WiFi did reach into the rooms.

The hostel had no lift, and the reception is at the first floor, so you need to carry your luggage up the stairs.

The location is great, right next to ocean. Outside doors get locked, so there are no straingers in the building, its good and safe. The view from the room to the beach and ocean was great too!! If you are travelling to see the ocean and have fun at the beach, then its a great stay, definately! But you better know that its way too far from for example Warner Broth studio, which is located at totally other part of LA. So you have to know where you want to stay more - by the ocean or by Hollywood area.

There are high stairs and no elevator. Its a challange to pick your huge luggage up.

Good central location in Venice (which means it is noisy outside, especially on weekends). Secure building with 24-hour reception. I stayed in a 4-bed female dorm room, which had it's own bathroom. The bathroom had shampoo, conditioner and body soap, and they provided a towel. Each bed had its own small shelf with power points, a lamp, and privacy curtains around the bed. There are small lockers in the room. Breakfast was included every morning - coffee, bread, spreads, instant oats, museli bars, mandarins.

The room was a bit small for 4 people. I arrived late at night and the bed was not ready for me, I had to ask for bedding and make it myself. The mattress was covered in plastic under the bedding, so was squeaky, as well as the bunk being squeaky and hard to climb onto the top bunk. Would be nice to have a bit more variety in fruit and cereals for breakfast.

Loved that the hostel is within walking distance of the Venice Beach area, skatepark and workout area which were some of the main reasons I really wanted to stay at this location. My stay was during Thanksgiving holiday week, so was not as crowded even though it can be a high traffic area. What really made my experience great here were the awesome fellow hostel people I befriended and explored the beach and L.A. area with, good times! Staff were also available to communicate with and accommodating.

The mixed-dorm style room I stayed in didn't have a place to hang bath towels or coats which I think would be helpful. Lockers also may need some maintenance to keep doors from jamming. Breakfast was basic (instant coffee / tea, toast and small oranges) but honestly for the price to stay it's not really an issue.

Location? Well. Its at the beach. Literally. Venice Beach. Which is an amazing quarter. From the community room, the window: You gonna see palm trees, the skater park and the pacific. Try to be there on a week end, as it is even more interesting to see all the different kind of people there. Connections: Buses. Takes you around one hour to go to Hollywood, walk of fame. Lots of bikes and scouter to rent, so you can easily go to Santa Monica pier, or the other direction, southwards, along the costside, which is really great. If you are into skating, you can also rent skateboards, surfboards, roller skates! There are also some skateboard shops with boards and merch to buy. I have been there the second time and I would go there again.

I stayed at Samesun Venice Beach for the final two nights of my trip, and it was a great way to wrap things up. The location is unbeatable—right on Venice Beach, steps away from the iconic skate park, and within walking distance to the Santa Monica Pier if you're up for a good stroll. The breakfast was solid, and the staff were all super friendly and helpful. Overall, it’s a great spot if you want to be right in the heart of the beach scene and meet some cool people along the way.

The only areas that could use some improvement are the luggage storage and the check-in process, but to be fair, those are pretty common issues across most hostels.

nothing related to the hostel itself! it was a bit difficult to get there on public transport (I arrived at night by plane and took two busses from the airport, might have been more simple throughout the day, careful: busses only took cash no credit cards), no supermarket in near walking distance, being outside in the park/at the beach didn‘t feel safe at night

Right on venice beach, can't beat that. Great views from the room. The staff was AMAZING! Front desk folks were so awesome and friendly and helpful I wanted to hug them.

There was nothing I didn't like. But an ice machine would have made it better. And I'll probably bring my own tea next time because the tea was really bland. (not very strong) The coffee would have been better brewed (I hate instant) but I also think cleaning and refilling that would make a total mess in that little kitchen so I get the instant. One piggy roommate left a mess in the bathroom but she only stayed one night and you can't help that. Most of the roommates were great. The staff kept everything clean as a whistle. Much appreciated.

Perfect location in Venice beach in front of the ocean, I felt very safe to be a solo girl in a mixed dormitory and met so much nice people. The staff was very friendly and also they give you towels for shower and for the beach which it’s so helpful. Nice bars and clubs in the area

During the night you can hear the music of the club even if you wear earplugs
