I like the room and Balcony

Though the room had a Tub very low water pressure in the shower water was not very hot. The view from the Balcony could have been a little better. I felt that I should have at least gotten a little discount considering I rebooked the room after the mistake was made while booking my first reservation. I only wanted the King Size room with the Balcony because there was only 2 of us I did not need a Double bed Queen room too because who was going to sleep in it. As a result because Booking did not help with resolving this issue and I lost over $500. Asc a result I will not be using this site again or will not be recommending to others. I am a person who deals with a whole lot of people and the public as well. I will go through other sources next time!!!

I loved the beachfront room with the balcony. My husband loves to watch the ships come and go from the Savannah river.

The location was fantastic! Right on the beach is such a treat! The staff was wonderful and the room was very comfortable and clean with a beautiful view of the ocean.

We paid extra for a balcony room but we couldn’t use the balcony because there were smokers on the balcony next to us and each time we tried to sit on the balcony the smoke was too much. We noticed that there is a sign on the glass sliding door to the balcony saying that if you’re going to smoke on the balcony you need to close the door so the smoke doesn’t get in the room. And on the balcony was an ashtray on the table which we had to clean ourselves to reduce the smell of smoke on the balcony. For non-smokers like us who were really looking forward to enjoying the balcony we paid extra for, it was very disappointing.

staff was very friendly and helpful even before our stay, because of storms coming wasn't sure we could make it, contacts with the hotel made it easy. great continental breakfast, Loved the walk to beach, and the little sitting area to watch sunrise. Our service staff was very friendly and helpful, and made us feel comfortable. great location, and the room was clean and beds comfortable, all the things you want in a hotel stay.

parking, I understand it is that way on the island, but maybe more of a designated area for guest who drive two cars that share the room.

This was my 1st trip to Tybee Island Georgia. I booked my stay with the DeSoto Beach hotel through booking. The hotel was wonderful, quiet and everyone with the staff were very friendly. Living in Pennsylvania, we met another couple that previously lived in Pennsylvania, and had a wonderful conversation. The beach is just a 3 minute walk from the hotel. It was awesome watching the large shipping vessels take off from what I believe is the south part of the island. Right across from the hotel is a Beach shop which sells swimming gear, surfing gear and novelty and souvenirs. I'd say this was a prime location for a stay on Tybee Island. There is an island taxi for short runs. In either direction you're a mile away from the Tybee Island Pier. Or if you'd like to venture out the other way to the Tybee Island lighthouse and science center where they have live aquatic animals. A small donation fee and you can take the tour. Well worth it. My next visit to Tybee Island will DEFINITELY be booking with the DeSoto Beach hotel.

Staff was very nice and helpful. Room was cleaned. Love the big shower.

Chair rentals- staff should really explain to tenants how it works when checking in. Most times someone was sitting in our seats. Room was good but not what I imagined ocean view to be.

Great friendly and helpful staff. Great location not only to the beach but a few businesses nearby as well that are within walking distance. Great access to the beach and they even have a temperature controlled pool. I am a non-smoker so I am happy the hotel is a no smoking hotel.

Perhaps the temperature settings on the temperature controlled pool could have been a few degrees warmer. But the pool was nice and clean and the staff will let you know the hours it is open and it has lights for the evening when the sun goes down.

Grandkids enjoyed the pool. Location to other tourist sites, gift shops, and beach very good, by car or walking. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Enjoyed the morning coffee

Water leakage on floor seemed to originate from toilet somewhere. At first thought floor water due to shower water escaping through edges of curtain. Breakfast basics were ok. Maybe more variety in baked goods on alternating days. Experienced 2 power outages, one due to storm condition and the other due to generator issue.

The room was perfect size and the view was really nice. I loved that our balcony had a wall instead of a fence since I had a 1.5 year old with me. It made me feel comfortable letting her play on the balcony knowing she was safe. The walk to the beach and pool was a good distance as well and renting the umbrella and chairs from the front desk was easy and a great price. They set up at 9:30 and you have it until 6 so we were able to get a lot of beach time in as well as go back and forth without needing to take it down.

The only downside to this place is the narrow parking lot that they can't really change because it's in between the hotel. It's not too bad if you plan like we did to not move the car until you check out and leave.

- Room housekeeping being done late in the afternoon. Also, a couple of supplies needed to be added but they weren't - The corner where the coffee needs to have more light. It was hard to see what we were doing even with the light on - microwave location is pretty high. In addition to the lack of light, it was challenging to use - it would have been nice to have other salty choices for breakfast - not big of a deal though
