We stayed in the King Suite room (Pine Lodge) which was beautifully decorated like a fishing cabin. Bed was very comfortable. It is located in a quite neighborhood and the property is wonderfully decorated with flowers and hanging lights. Unfortunately it rained the evenings we stayed so we could not take advantage of the nice fire pit area. Others had commented on the trains but with the air conditioner and ceiling fan going at night, we did not hear them, so do not let that scare you off. I would totally stay here again if we get back to the area. Randy was very helpful in suggesting his favorite options for restaurant's and bars and great places to visit.

There are several stairs to get to the rooms, so if you have any issues with stairs, this is probably not the location for you. But if a few stairs do not bother you, this place is a great place to stay.

Wasn't sure what to expect as we had never been in the area before. Upon arrival there was a personalized letter for us giving details. We had the pleasure of meeting the landscaper which turned out to be the owner. He was very helpful with all of our questions and gave us great options of places to eat which were wonderful. The cabin itself was very mystic walking to. Very neatly put together. The inside was very clean and comfortable. It was perfect for what we were looking for. We were able to make use of the jacuzzi as well and watch the stars. The temp was set perfect and everything is well lit up at night. Just don't get distracted by the coi pond like my wife and miss the stairs lol. All in all this is a 5 star stay. The owner is amazing and we loved the property. We were on the motorcycle so there was plenty of parking.

Wish we could have stayed longer but had to get back to the work week. Everything was great!

This property was beautiful! It was exceptionally clean, comfortable and the grounds were remarkable!

The only thing about this property was the streets getting to it. We’re very narrow with pulling a boat, but this is nothing. The property owner could do anything about it. We will definitely be back if we stay in that area.!

Quiet spot where you could watch deer, hummingbirds and even feed the koi in the pond. The fire pit was great, too. Super clean and cozy. Very impressed with the drip irrigation set up on all their hanging baskets of happy flowers.

My only wee suggestion is it would be nice if there was a small table and two chairs on the deck or inside. Plenty of tables and chairs by the fire pit and upper deck, so not a big deal.

There were no meals included in this stay. It was very quiet and private and had its own kitchen. We bought our own food and went out for a few meals.

Ideas for a good breakfast/lunch. What about tips on bike trails and things you should see from the host?

Many thoughtful features such as outlets with USB ports, throws on the comfy chairs, and a microwave and refrigerator. Very quiet.

This is not about the property but about where it is located. We stayed on a Monday and Tuesday in October. Much to our surprise, there were no restaurants open nearby for breakfast or dinner. We had to go into Prairie du Chien and search for an open restaurant.

My husband and I are walkers. We could go out the front door and walk for miles when we wanted to. Very quiet and natural environment. Loved it!

We were there during the week and I believe the only one's staying there. If the retreat was completely booked, parking might have been tighter.

I loved the communication with the owner, the location and amenities. We also felt safe and secure at this location.

The bed was hard, the shower nozel was difficult to get water that wasn't too hot. Some of the nooks and crannies in the room had dust and spider webbing.

The location was wonderful. Located on a street with no exit so absolutely no traffic. The room we stayed in (Evening Veranda) was perfect. Very clean. Had a kitchen that worked perfectly for our stay of 4 nights. Host was great! We spent two evenings in the fire pit area. Very relaxing. Everything about the stay was excellent.

What a diamond in the rough! Had the entire "mother-in-law" house with huge bed, full kitchen, big screen TV, full sized fridge w ice ready, hot tub and garden on property is very quaint and relaxing. Staff extra friendly and left a nice note. Safe and secure setting for a wonderful stay.
