As anon brand budget motel, Thunderbird far exceeded expectations. Rooms were spotless, mattresses were thick and supportive without being stiff, linen was clean and smelled freshly laundered. Three queen size beds in the suite was perfect for us. Everything worked as expected, new toilets and sinks, the AC kept the room cool and comfortable without a big temperature change. Cleanest hotel we stayed at in the two weeks in NM traveling, far cleaner than any Marriott or holiday inn in the state.

Nothing really. The location is a little barren, however it was quiet, and VERY easy highway access. It felt safe and I forgot how convenient it is to have the car right at your door!

So many things to be surprised. That night it was chilly outside, but the heater works excellently. No smell around cabin and the floor is pretty clean. Lighting is very good, I can say even better than Hyatt Place we stayed last night. We enjoyed the bath in a clean bathtub with clean towels. The freezer is bigger than what we usually see in a hotel-level room. TV is new and large. The king bed is very comfy.

Really don't have any complaint about it.

The staff was very helpful and positive as soon as we walked in the office door. We were checked in directly and unloaded very quickly. The room was everything we needed for the night. The bed was comfortable and large so that we could spread out after a long day of travel. The bathroom was clean and easy to access. Thank you so much for a great experience at The Thunderbird!

It's an older motel on what used to be a main highway but new roads rerouted traffic and it's on a fairly quiet side of town now. Our room was very clean and the bed was super comfortable; and there was no outside noise to speak of. It provided us with all standard motel amenities and the shower had lots of hot water.

Other than being an older property, there were no issued that impacted our stay.

I arrived late in a very icy cold night. The room was warm and inviting. The owner offered to stay late for my arrival and was very friendly. The bed had top hotel quality, soft with a duvet blanket. The shower had strong water pressure. Additionally my little dog was welcome. The location is convenient, right off I25 on the southern part of town. I would stay here again, highly recommended.

When I first pulled up I was thinking maybe not, it’s an old time motel and looks a bit worn. I right away said to the owner at check in I need to see the room first before I decide to stay. He was most accommodating and extremely pleasant. The room was scrupulously clean and all the desired things in place. Coffee machine well stocked, also spacious fridge and freezer as well as a microwave. Bathroom is sparkling clean with plenty of soft towels and bathing necessities, it even had a window I could open that backed onto a field. This was a major plus for me as I have to release the moist air to breathe comfortably. Very comfortable bed and bedding was welcome. The owners are lovely people who encouraged me to join them as the super blue moon rose over the motel. A beautiful sight that I felt was quite safe to enjoy. There’s a little place close by with most excellent homemade food at very affordable prices and a great owner who went out of her way to accommodate my unusual requests. I absolutely loved the motel and kinda wanted to keep it to myself, but really they deserve a stellar review.

Nothing really

We have stayed here several times, just as a quick overnight stay to break up our trip. The room is always clean and the bed has not been slept at by 1000 people. It's always quiet, inexpensive, the rooms have been updated and the bed is good! We stayed here because of a positive review. I hope someone else sees this and does the same.

Check in was easy, and pleasant. The room is a decent size, and had everything I needed. It was very clean, and the bed was comfortable. I can't speak to the pillows, as I brought my own.

The blinds in my room were broken. A bit noisy, I could hear the people in the next room when they talked.

Just 1/2 mile off of I25 on a well-lit street - I think the old highway. An older motel that has been completely refurbished on the inside. New bathroom, new windows, and fresh paint. Flooring may be new too. Very clean room nice size. Bigger than microtel, about the same or bigger than a Days Inn. We had a very comfortable king size bed. An old-style footprint with parking was right in front of our room. Room access door opens to the parking makes for very convenient access. We were traveling from Wellington CO to PHX and this was great for our one-night stop over. Saved $65 versus the Holiday Inn Express down the street.

Only one ceiling light in the room. Could have used one or two bedside lights. Also, only one bedside nightstand. Could use one on each side. This is a minor complaint. It really didn't affect our stay.

Do not be intimidated by the exterior of the Thunderbird. We were skeptical when we pulled up but after seeing the room, immediately felt like we had made the right decision staying at the Thunderbird. The bed was very comfortable, the room was clean, had everything we needed and had a great shower. Based on our experience, we can comfortably recommend the Thunderbird to other travelers.
