A classic Route 66 hotel. Living in NM, we like old Rt 66. It's been updated and was great. I loved the cowboy decor and that Yuge cactus sign. The ladies in the office couldn't have been friendlier! The steakhouse next door was excellent. As I mentioned, I live in NM. We claim green chile stew as our own. They made some of the best I ever had. All in all a great stay! Stretch your boundaries a little, don't always stay in the big chains.

We arrived fairly late in the evening to the Inn and the owner had kindly left the key and a note for us in the safe deposit box in case she wasn't around when we got there (she was and was very welcoming) The room was comfortable and clean. Bottles of water and microwave popcorn were provided which was a lovely touch. One of the nicest motels we stopped at on our road trip.

Larger than usual room, with nice homely touches like china coffee cups and a complementary packet of microwave popcorn. After a trip with many stays at bland chain motels, it was nice to find somewhere with some character and charm. Quiet and conveniently located.

Nothing.

As with most motels, there is no food on site but there is a good steakhouse just around the back. However, worth knowing that McLean was until recently a dry town in a wet county: ie no alcohol (wine/beer/spirits) served. This is still (as of May 2023) true of the steakhouse, otherwise good food. There is one bar in town which is a 10 minute walk in the other direction, opposite a very good breakfast cafe/diner The barbed wire museum is definitely worth looking at, hard to believe but absolutely true.

The staff was super friendly. The room was much larger than your average motel room. There was popcorn available free of charge in the room. It is an older building but it seems Cactus Inn is keeping it updated. If you're staying in McLean, make sure to check out the Cactus Rose Taphouse as well 🙂

There was a missing cover on an outlet (not a big deal but it may be scary to some). Hopefully that got fixed since our stay. Everything else was perfect!

Was unsure of this small, older motel in a very small town. But the room was very tidy and well decorated with fun memoribilia on historic route 66, a good size for 3-4 people and very clean and well maintained.

one of the electric sockets didn't work. But not unexpected in an older motel

Great price and a fantastic little Inn. Felt like we had stepped back in time with the decor and look of the Inn. It was like we had gone down Route 66 and pulled in for the night. But it had all the things you could want for today's times. A nice TV with cable and smart services, a coffee pot, fridge and microwave. Very clean room and comfortable beds.

Room is dated, but still clean. Faucet handle in bathroom was loose fitting but worked. Pillows were too thick for me, but my wife loved them.

Funky, classic Route 66 hotel. Very small and feels very homey. The place where you have a cocktail in the parking lot with two guests you just met. A very good steakhouse next door. Super helpful staff, Casey was so helpful.

Very cute and cozy hotel. Absolutely recommend it. Huge rooms, I was staying with my 3 kids and a cat and we have lots of space for all of us. The sunset was gorgeous.

The heating in our room didn’t work and they don’t serve any breakfast.

Very nice, clean, comfortable room. Sleeping area was large travelers. table, chairs, microwave, small refrigerator, coffee maker, etc. My only complaint is that the bathroom was very small, but expected from the motels of that Era. The toilet was too close to the shower stall for comfortable seating, but was not a major issue.
