This was a great place and one of the few around Big Bend. It is a little expensive and the bathroom and room is a little outdated. But the location is perfect. Also we are very grateful to them for letting my husband work in their office for sometime after checkout. We ate breakfast and icecream here and they were also gracious to give us some complimentary water bottles. This is a great place to drive to see the night sky.

There were too many bugs in the bathroom and that they charged us for a microwave. There were also not many power plugs. The rooms are a little old and can do well with a renovation

This place is a great surprise in this isolated, desert environment. For golfers and non-golfers, it is a place that will be remembered for the beauty and ambience. The golf course is like no other and photos do not do it justice. The staff are friendly and helpful. Our room was in the main hotel building which is the oldest part and it did need some attention but it was comfortable.

The hotel does not have an elevator. No problem for us, but it would be for some people. The shower floor was super slippery so be careful. We had to put a towel on the floor in the shower to feel safe. There are no grab bars either.

Very comfortable bed. Good water pressure in the shower. All staff interaction was great. Food was good at the restaurant. We went on the 5 mile trail ride and enjoyed it very much. Even though it was 110° they had everything you needed to be comfortable and enjoy your stay at this resort.

We stayed in the badlands hotel and the stairs were the only access to the second floor, just not as convenient for taking things to our room. The mini fridge had frozen some of our food the second day. Probably just needed to adjust it. The room was great but bathroom was a little small.

Wonderful hotel with great amenities. The staff went above and beyond. Location was amazing.

The food in the main restaurant was very expensive. If you want to enjoy the nice outdoor area you have a choice of only the main restaurant or the thirsty goat. The thirsty goat is over 21s so you will have to sit outside if you have kids and it can be hard to find a table. Some more seating outside in the garden area would be great. Also some music in the side area of the thirsty goat would be nice.

After 2 days of canoe/camping we wanted a little more luxury for our last night in town and this property fit the bill. We arrived late and left early so we really didn't get to enjoy any of the features and amenities but we very much enjoyed our stay. The staff were friendly and helpful. What we saw of the property was really nice and offered lots of options for dining.

I'm not sure if the hotel has any control over this but none of online menus for the onsite restaurants were correct. Because both of us have dietary restrictions, we were looking forward to ordering menu items that were no longer offered. At 8:30pm the restaurant we chose was out of three or four items on their menu so the dining experience was a complete disappointment.

Based on Google Maps images, I was a bit afraid that the hotel would be outdated. But there was nothing to be afraid about. This hotel has exceeded all expectations. Check-in was smooth and staff was very friendly and helpful. Room was very spacious with a comfortable bed. We loved the "Old West" vibe in the hotel. Due to the proximity of Big Bend National Park and State Park, the hotel was incredibly silent at night and offered excellent night skies, which resulted in excellent sleep. I cannot wait to go back someday!

Beautiful grounds and really authentic feel. The staff were just the best and really helpful. The area is beautiful and perfect for dark skies and a hop to the national park. There's lots of food options and the deli was well stocked, the restaurant's staff were just lovely and they had a great selection of wine. There's enough on the site to keep you entertained during rainy days and the morning coffee is brilliant.

The monopoly on food, fuel and excursions mean everything is really expensive (but a must do whilst you're there) $100 for 2 hours of paddle boarding each, fuel is $5.36 a gallon and dinner will set you back roughly $30 each for a main course.

Located in a very beautiful place. Short drive to nearby town and state park. Rooms were nice and stylish.

Time to get rid of physical keys, especially if they are barely doing their job of opening the room lock; on site restaurant is overwhelmingly lacking in taste, ambience and outrageously priced for what you get.

We had dinner at their main restaurant; the staff was incredibly attentive and friendly. We both had salads with shrimp and it was excellent. The view is beautiful! Prices were on the high end but not overly expensive. The room was beautifully decorated in a “ western motif”; very tastefully done with great attention to detail. The shower was spacious and the rain head was awesome, powerful and really hot. Bed was really comfy ( high ), and the sheets were nice and soft.

Room was really dark in the evening; not enough lighting. Also room was difficult to get to as you had to drag your wheeled luggage over stone to get to the walkway and then the walkway was an uneven concrete so you still couldn’t pull your luggage along. I made special arrangements because my husband has some difficulty walking (walks with cane) and this didn’t seem handicap accessible to me. He only has minor difficulty; if someone was in a wheelchair this would be extremely difficult to navigate.

Location was perfect for us. A bit pricey, but comfortable room and bed. Food was excellent, again, a bit pricey, but one of the best steaks we have ever eaten!!

Felt bad for staff because they seemed shorthanded, but they all worked hard and were pleasant. Think resort could update some ways they do things to help.
