There is sooo much to love. It was an amazing setting, so wonderful and mesmerising. To see the property in the rain, in the mist and in the sunshine was such a blessing as it is just a magical place. I cannot say enough how wonderful the whole place is. Especially the staff at reception and all the different locations at the resort.

This may seem petty to some but there is no place to eat other than at the resort. That would be fine if the food was great or even good, but it’s only ok. Of course it’s expensive, you expect that, but that is not the problem. It’s just not very good. I really hate to say this because I would stay here again for sure as the staff were amazing (apart from the wait staff at lunch and dinner who were fine but not great. I waited for an age to order a water after our initial order was taken) but the food is such an integral part of my enjoyment and it was substandard.

If you want a peaceful, high-quality retreat that is in nature... this is the place. The staff are friendly, attentive, and helpful without being intrusive. The manager was always visible and speaking to guests. You have a surplus of food options, not just local menus, but Western styled cuisine. There are both activities for adventurous people or if you just want to spa. If you want to get to the mountains, out of Hanoi, but not as far as Sapa, Ba Vi is ideal. The photos of the property on booking.com doesn't lie.

This wasn't a problem for us, but if you want to be close to shopping and activities that isn't in a national park, then you may find a shorter weekend break away to Ba Vi better. The weekdays were quieter with more local families being present during weekends.

The room is nice and nice to have a Mountain View .

The food provided in the restaurant is a nightmare Anything western style, I would say is digesting Pizza and pasta even worse than convenience store. The fried veggie and some Asian style food is nice. I guess the butter has no taste of butter at all. Fruit and Pho are nice The spa. Big not recommend for anyone, The lady who serve me, feel like rushing for everything, not just unstable to ease my muscles tightness but even make my mind more tense. Without notifying me and my friend and just go into the area we are changing cloths. In short room are nice Food need to be improved ( western style) Spa………… DONT GO.

This was the second time we stayed at Melia Ba Vi Mountain Retreat for our anniversary and had an overall pleasant experience. The resort’s location is excellent, offering a serene and natural setting perfect for relaxation. I particularly appreciated the opportunity to see unique plants, butterflies, and insects around the property, which added to the charm of the stay. The animal feeding activity was also a highlight, making the experience both enjoyable and memorable. The YHI Spa was exceptional, offering a truly relaxing and rejuvenating experience from Lan and Hue, that enhanced the overall stay. I would also like to compliment the Chef for the excellent Vietnamese cuisine, which was both authentic and delicious.

There was a minor issue during one of the meals when the restaurant staff missed an order. However, the Food and Beverage Manager, Mr. Thu, handled the matter promptly and professionally, ensuring everything was resolved satisfactorily despite it being the peak vacation season. Despite this small service hiccup, the beautiful environment, engaging activities, and attentive management made my visit a positive and memorable one. I would recommend Melia Bavi Resort to travelers seeking a peaceful nature retreat. Tip: The resort is quite secluded, so it’s best to plan ahead on food and water.

The location for the Melia Ba Vi Mountain Retreat is really special, nestled on the side of a mountain in the jungle. Going in the "winter" months was very pleasant, as the nights were pleasantly chilly. I imagine in the humid summer months the mountain would be a real respite. I loved my room - great size (premium king), comfy bed, a desk where I could write and a nice little balcony overlooking the trees. I think, overall, the ambiance of the Melia is what you're paying for - winding stone paths, birdsong, the sense of being removed from the urban environment. I also appreciated the little details - like their eggs coming from their local chickens, and the French colonial ruins dotted around the outside of the property that you could tour. Additionally, whoever is running the bar is doing an excellent job - the cocktails I had were a real highlight! Overall, I would recommend this property, but if you have mobility issues you may need to arrange golf cart transport, as everything is uphill/downhill cobblestone paths with limited flat space.

While I really enjoyed my stay, there were a couple of negatives. First off, my spa experience was not good, maybe the second worst massage I've ever had. I told them I had an injury and the masseuse just went ahead and yanked on the bad joint before I could determine if she would or not (she got a little lost midway through the massage as well, as evidenced by five minutes of head patting that did nothing for me except make me want to walk out). Second, there were a couple of times where I felt nickel and dimed - like paying for water at dinner (tap water isn't potable), or being charged a service fee buying postcards in addition to the VAT tax. Little things like that add up.

All staff were fantastic- Sophie, Vu, Tuan, everyone we met. They even managed to find a new room for us in a quieter area The rooms are great and the area is so clean and green

Unfortunately we received an email the evening before booking that government officials were visiting the park and that it would only reopen to tourists at 2pm so we missed the entire morning. The spa was also closed on the saturday, though it was open the next day we didnt have time The location was quiet but karaoke is allowed which disturbed the peace and quiet.

They'd drive us around the area on a buggy which was a fun and new experience. Surrounded by lush greenery combined with the after-rain smell, was certainly very relaxing. Would be great if I could spend more days in the resort.

The activities had limited time slots which was sad cause I couldn't do any of them. Wish there were a bit more options to choose from or inform us free time slots before arriving so we can make our trip earlier to the resort.

We had three premium rooms and thoroughly enjoyed our time at this wonderful and atmospheric resort. The resort itself is beautiful, with stunning views and a serene environment that makes it perfect for relaxation. The rooms were spacious, well-appointed, and offered all the amenities we needed for a comfortable stay. The hike to the top of the mountain was a great way to spend a morning. A highlight of our stay was definitely the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. A special mention goes to Nhung, who was fantastic and went above and beyond to ensure we had a great experience. It was very kind of her to take us on the resort tour.

The pool area is lovely, but it could benefit from more regular skimming. There were two pool attendants, but they didn't seem to be very active in maintaining the pool.

The location is the star, set on the side of the mountain, within the NationalPark, you really are in a tropical Jungle. The site is contained with walks and you can walk or use bikes to explore, but it is hilly! The breakfast was amazing, the biggest spread I have seen outside of the USA. The Rooms and bathrooms were very spacious and clean. The evening restaurants offer was also good. We were there slightly off season and it was quiet, except for the jungle noise. This was so good when we had an infinity pool view to enjoy by ourselves. We loved and would recommend.

This place is exceptional, it is like being in a whole different world, so peaceful and quiet. It is located in the mountains less than a 2 hour drive from Hanoi and is isolated in a beautiful jungle like area. The grounds are hilly with all kinds of vegetation and colorful flowers and plants. We had booked massages in the spa and they were excellent. The breakfast buffet was good and the meals in the restaurant were great as well. The pool was good and offered bar service and the staff offered rides on electric buggies to different parts of the grounds.

We stayed a Saturday night and Sunday morning around 8AM someone started a loud leaf blower right outside. Then at 8:30AM housekeeping came wanting to clean the room, when they should have known that we were checking out later that day. Despite these annoyances it was still an incredible place, wish we could have stayed longer.
