Palihouse Santa Monica is a complete experience. A house that feels like home. The rooms are delicately decorated, and the country-house atmosphere is felt from the moment you enter, with its garden, reception furniture, books, bar, and fireplace. We had a room with a view of the garden that made us feel, for a moment, as if we lived in that dreamlike place. The location is just a few blocks from the Santa Monica Pier. The area is very quiet, with friendly neighbors, and both the neighborhood and the hotel are extremely pet-friendly. They were very thoughtful with our pet, providing a little bed, food bowls, and treats. We will definitely be coming back very soon.

We were there Christmas week. They had comlimentary coffee and pastries Christmas eve and day. This hotel allows dogs. Next time we will bring ours! The grounds are very nice. Bocce ball out front was fun! Close to the Getty Villa which is a good place to visit. The hotel itself is a short walk to the beach; we were there visiting family closeby so didn't have time to go.

Initally we were booked in a bottom floor, corner room. The traffic noise kept us awake at night. We are light sleepers. The next morning we asked to me moved to a quieter room. The staff was very receptive to our request. We moved to the third floor and it was much quieter.

Nice Boutique establishment. Almost the best part of the neighborhood in Santa Monica, is quiet, chill, and a nice walk range to the Santa Monica Pier. The property is a nice and old establishment and has been nicely taken care of. The room was spacious and equipped with a full kitchen. Ordered room service and everything was nice. Quite a boutique staycation experience by the beach.

The lobby didn't provide service in the afternoon, which could be a little discouraging as I would love to spend the afternoon in the yard and lobby if there were refreshments provided. But it is not a big deal.

I loved the location and valet service. Property itself is well maintained. Our valet guy Andy was so lovely and helpful. Really made us feel at home. Location of hotel felt very safe and clean

I appreciate it is an old building however, we had a problem with our toilet and the elevator is very old and hard to manage on your own with a lot of luggage. However, there is staff on hand who will help you with luggage

Staff were all super eager to help and very nice. I like that it’s old and has character but if you prefer an upscale hotel with amenities this is not the place for you. My room had a full size kitchen which was nice and it was spotless clean.

It’s very loud. I could hear my neighbors zipping their suitcase through the wall. I sleep with earplugs every night so it’s fine but if you are a light sleeper you will hear things.

Location is great with walking distant to shops and restaurants. Staff is very nice and efficient. The building is beautiful and serves cookies and lemonade at the lobby-very nice touch. I have a large room with kitchen and has lots of storage closet.

The bathroom needs a do over. It is not only small, but it lacks lighting. The shower over tube is very small and inconvenient. I have a large room with kitchen and it is spacious. The carpet needs to be updated.

Palihouse has an amazing climate, great shared area with a fireplace and breathtaking gardens. The staff was always very helpful and friendly! Very close to the ocean and Santa Monica Pier, making it a pleasure to walk there.

No serious issues or even minor ones. I only wish it provided food in the evening as well as any alcohol. Being able to enjoy an evening while sipping your favorite poison by the fireplace would make this trip unforgettable.

The hotel has lots of character, and is a relaxing place to stay. It is well situated, within two or three blocks of the sea and the same distance from the main shopping drag in Santa Monica. The staff are very friendly and helpful, and the room offered a pleasant view out to palm trees.

The hotel has no bar, which is a shame for those of us who like a nightcap. The wifi is low-security. The rooms could benefit from a microwave.

The location is perfect, close to the beach but in a quiete area. Also close to the main attractions in town. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The rooms are fairly big and clean. The beds are comfortable. Good breakfast albeit a bit pricy. The hotel in itself is very charming and well decorated!

For some reason they charge an extra 100$ per night for incidents and supposedly you get your money back if you don't use it but I haven't received the full invoice yet 3 days after leaving. Also we only got one bathrobe even though we asked for a 2nd one many times. The elevator is very old and only goes to 3rd floor (we were on 4th). There was a lot of draft given that the window in the bathroom didn't close (we weren't really cold but the doors would close very abruptly) and I think how the hotel is designed too. You can hear a bit the room next to you as the walls/doors are thin.

Excellent service. Room service Breakfast was tasty and came nice and warm. Property grounds are pretty.

Charming property however could use some detailed upgrading but you can see they do their best with maintaining what they currently have.
