It was a nice place to stay, it was quiet and the people there are very nice. The only thing was the beds are very unstable so even lifting my hand would move the bed and they were also very low, i switched from top to bottom bunk when i could and it was much better but i hit my head quite a few times😅 other than that it was great and clean, maybe a bit old but clean and functional😁

Located short bush walk to beautiful beach. The coffee van out front, met some locals. Manager super nice and informative. Cold fridge, big kitchen and sitting space. Decor is thoughtful and beach vibe. Dbl Room is tiny - big bathroom with good fanlight.

Old double bed was uncomfortably firm for me. Needs more power outlets. I would prefer more kitchen signs paper towels and black marker for naming my stuff. But I'm a fussy oldie...

We received an amazing welcome at the reception, he made sure we knew where all the local facilities were and how to get anywhere we needed. We absolutely loved the communal games room and spent a great deal of time in there on our one night stay. The communal kitchen and dining area have great facilities and a good vibe and were very clean.

While our room and the facilities were very clean, the bathroom was quite dated. It was a disabled bathroom so we understood the set up needed to be a little different from normal, however it did get quite wet in there. That being said, the reception staff gave us an extra bathmat to ensure we could have dry feet.

Really friendly atmosphere, I think it was the owner who come and spoke to us after we checked in and provided us with some recommendations on where to visit, he was really nice. We had just come from Nomads hostel and Beachside 1770 was much better!!

There was a melted sweet near the bed on the floor from a previous guest which hadn’t been cleaned, not the end of the world however. Everything else was clean.

Greg and Emma were fantastic: they were welcoming, friendly and helped us with everything. The guests of the hostel were also great. Even though they were older than us (18 years old) we were still able to have good conversations with them. We therefore decided to book for a few more days for these reasons. It is also a 3-5 minute walk to the beach where you can surf straight away. All in all we had a great week here. If you want a quiet hostel and want to relax and enjoy the beach/surfing, we definitely recommend this!

The place has a very relaxed atmosphere and is well kept. It has some really nice common areas to relax, eat, socialise and work in. It’s in a quiet area, with a beach access right next to it, and it’s a short stroll to town for the main beach, shops and food outlets.

The double room was a bit pricey but it was high season and most places cost more. The room was a quite basic but had all you need, including a bathroom and aircon, and a comfy bed.

It was very quiet when I arrived - at first it felt like no one was staying there but then you noticed the communal aspect to it. The place has a great vibe, really nice decor and different areas to hangout. The room didn't fill up, so it was nice to have so much space and a proper locker to put specific items you wanted to keep secure. The kitchen was a decent size for the amount of people there and had everything you needed. They also let you use the facilities if you're getting the bus at the 9:20pm slot, so you can check out but still shower, cook etc. - I wish all hostels did that!

Not much! It's a bit further out from the main beach but if you walk out of the hostel and turn left, you get straight onto the beacH further up, which works out a lot better!

Super relaxed, I felt at home as soon as I got here! Location is perfect and there is everything you need :) Greg kindly accommodated my requests for multiple changes to my reservation and I ended up extending my stay to hang a little longer. I also had a great Brekky burrito from the pop up cafe out the front!

I had arrived by the greyhound bus late in the evening and just in case you are the same please be aware that the street lights are non existent on the way to the hostel so make sure you have a torch with you or charged phone for the same reason .
