Good location. Friendly, helpful staff. The new pool and outdoor area are amazing. We like this place but it wouldn't take much to make it great.

Not a single place to hang anything in the unit with the exception of a single towel rack outside the shower. Very frustrating when you spend every day at the beach. Also needs a clothes line outside (I always travel with rope but if I didn't, we would have been in a world of trouble with kids suits and towels and no where to hang them in or out). Kitchen needs to be better stocked as well (cooking and serving utensils predominantly, as well as ice cube trays).

I don’t understand all the bad reviews. The 6-bed dorms are clean and get cleaned daily. The rooms are basic but spacious. The pool area is nice and perfect for relaxing. The staff are friendly, and the kitchen is clean. It’s a great place to stay before and after the Fraser Island tour.

The outside kitchen can get cramped during rush hours. The kitchen layout wasn’t my favorite, but it’s still functional. However, the fridge room often gets messy with people entering in bikinis or swimsuits, leaving the floor wet and dirty. It’s a good idea to have a power bank since the sockets in the room are placed randomly. A bit on the pricey side.

Lovely, friendly staff at the front desk. In fact all the staff I encountered during my stay were friendly and welcoming. I had pretty much a whole dorm room to myself during my short stay. Room was very clean, warm blanket available which was great as it has been a bit colder in the evenings. Didn’t make use of kitchen but facilities looked good. Lounge/outside area nice. Lockers and storage room available. Also the option to store valuables with staff. Great location, short walk to the beach and nice little cafes and shops. Perfect for greyhound coach stop too as literally across road. Thank you!

I booked a bed in a 8-bed dormitory, with AC. The dormitory is wide and large enough, so you do not feel packed at all. The bed is a bunk bed, large enough, with a fair enough good mattress. For this dorm, you have access to an ensuite bathroom (shower, toilet, sink). All were clean. You also have access to a fully equipped kitchen, without oven. The common space is nice. Free pool table. In house bar, hence no BYO, open until 10pm. The WiFi is good, quicker close to the reception area. 100m away from Greyhound / Premier Motor Service bus stop. 500m away from IGA supermarket. 500m away from main beach. The staff at the reception (Zara, Lia) is nice and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place for a short or a long stay.

The property was very clean and beds were comfy. Noise level was acceptable. Staff were super welcoming & helpful. Drop box for key cards if you’re checking out early in the morning before reception opened. Secure Heaps of over night street parking right outside property. A 5minute walk to shops & cafes and beach. Washing machines & dryers on-site and will take eftpos card.

Couldn’t fault it

Perfect for stays before/after K’Gari. Nice pool area and shared spaces for socialising. Rooms were very spacious despite sharing with 7 others! Reception were great regarding late checkin.

Mattress was a little uncomfortable but not bad. Kitchen got cramped at peak times. Parts of the hostel were under construction so was a little untidy but can’t be helped. Walls are a bit thin.

Stayed in private room, clean linen and towels, nice for one night before your next bus, the hostel is right across the road from the greyhound bus stop

A bit dirty, there was a sticky stain from coffee on a shelf and in shelf units all layers under the top one were covered in something like sand Shower doesn’t have a little bath under it, just the drain in the floor, so after shower all floor in the bathroom is wet There was no hot water

Location is amazing. There are nice common areas.

The kitchen needs some signage about processes to keep clean and smell free. Maybe diagrams to help with language barriers. Also some little lighting the trees between buildings would make way finding at night easier :)

The rooms were clean and spacious. The pool is also lovely to sit around. The staff were so helpful, especially Sabrina at reception who helped with getting towels and laundry detergent :) I’d highly recommend this hostel for people looking to stay in Rainbow Beach before and after a trip to K’Gari Island!
