Ideal location for our drive from Melbourne to Sydney. After a pickup at Tullamarine at 6pm, this was just far enough for our first night. Clean and easy access, great communication about entry from the staff as we were arriving late.

The entry was confusing on Google maps, would be worth trying to fix that issue - the entry is from the main highway, not on a street around the corner. And the driveway had a lot of potholes - our car was loaded for our move, so it was a bit awkward, particularly the exit.

No.15 was comfortable, clean, warm, and the room stayed dark until you wanted. I had a great sleep in. Water pressure great in the shower Would have been a 10/10, but there were people in rm 14, and if I was interested, I would know exactly what they were talking about. They weren't shouting either. I was tired so slept straight away Staff were great. Close to a pub called The Royal where the food was great and the locals were friendly.

Always trouble when you first meet the air con..lol but google, and it's easy. Thin walls. It's best to ask for no one next door. I was in rm 15, so I'm not sure about the other rooms.

The room was clean and ordered. They look to be recently updated and the bathrooms were fantastic - clean and large with plenty of hot water. The bed was comfy and the room stayed nice and toasty warm with the air conditioning on low. It was a bit of a surprise to be honest but I can happily recommend this place to stay on the way up the Hume Hwy. The Royal Hotel nearby does a pretty mean Chicken Schnity too ;)

The street appeal isn't great but to be honest it's not an issue to most people who would be staying here on the way North or South. The place looks dated but the rooms are very tidy, clean and comfortable :)

Great for a night's stay before hitting the road for Canberra. We arrived late (host made sure our room was open & ready for us) and left early. Small kitchen was a bonus to make/eat a quick breakfast and cup of coffee. Easy access back to the expressway.

Bathroom was a little bit tight but shower was powerful & hot. Don't be concerned when arriving, follow the signs taking you around the back which is clearly marked even in the dark. We didn't get a chance to use any of the facilities, there was a small pool.

Like a blast from the past! But with modern comforts. Lovely little motel tucked away off the main road and backing onto the river. Little room and bathroom just perfect for a 1 night stay. You could see big gum trees out the small windows. Bed was very comfy, slept like a log. Affordable too!

Could hear the neighbours (wooden floor, old pipes) - however everyone seemed mindful of this and were not very loud, all stopped by 10pm. No ordinary free to air TV, but did have free internet.

Clean and comfortable. Two double beds is the reason my friend and I chose this motel. It had in room facilities to prepare our breakfast which was helpful.

There was no cleaning of our room during our 3 night stay. We would have expected at least the rubbish bins would be emptied and toilet paper replenished.

What a comfortable, well equipped hidden little gem. Stayed here overnight traveling from Canberra to Mt Gambier. A great place to stop halfway for a comfortable night's rest. Air con works really well on a very hot day. Bed was so comfy! Tucked away behind the road so it is quiet but a short stroll to eateries and the river walk.

Looks a bit average on the outside as it's an older build but don't judge a book by it's cover.

Affordable, clean, and exactly what you need for a no-frills stay. The room was well-maintained, comfortable, and great value for money. Perfect for a budget-friendly stopover without compromising on the essentials.

Initial impressions are very deceptive. Aged, gravel surrounds untidy. Looks like they are concentrating on the rooms rather than the grounds. We nearly turned away.

We were impressed with the attention of detail. The bed linen was the best I have come across. We were upgraded to a room with two queen-size beds for my elderly mother and myself. Plus, I was offered a later check out. We are looking forward to our next stay at Auto Lodge Motel.

There is nothing not to like.
