Well we arrived as strangers and left as friends. The hosts Paula and Stephen made us feel like we were at home and they were genuinely beautiful people! Our room was just perfect big king size bed , smart TV, spacious, beautiful bathroom and most importantly it was beautifully clean ! Location was fantastic right in the town centre, we also had a wonderful outdoor verandah with a steaming hot spa bath. Extra bonus was the undercover parking for my new vehicle which I very much appreciated. Cooked breakfast every morning was delicious! We would highly recommend staying at the Avon Terrace Guest House any time and we will definitely be returning! Thank you so much Paula and Stephen for our fantastic get away 😀

Absolutely nothing !

We loved everything about it! Perfect location in the town centre, close to everything, including restaurants, cafes and shops. Bathroom had quality linen and all amenities including toothpaste. Bedrooms had everything we needed to ensure comfort: aircon, blackout curtains, tea & coffee facilities, assortments of teas. Jacuzzi on the back terrace and Mini fridge with complimentary soft drinks, bottle water and even snacks! Beds had high quality linen and were very comfortable. Windows are soundproof ensuring peaceful environment despite it being in the town centre. Our hosts Paula and Stephen are the nicest of people and made us feel very much at home. Breakfast was fresh and delicious! This is a true gem located in the heart of York.

The heritage building and the whole of the property is beautiful and very comfortable! Breakfast was really delicious, magnificently prepared and presented. We liked that the table was set to share with the fellow guests and that Paula and Stephan also joined us for a chat. There are many extras which add to the charm and we look forward to a return visit.

There is nothing we didn’t like! A coffee pod machine in the room instead of Insta would be an awesome addition, but not entirely necessary.

The whole property was gorgeous, clean, well maintained and an awesome location. The owners Paula and Stephen were excellent hosts. The hot spa on the terrace was so, so good. The breakfast included was outstanding 5 stars 🌟 all around. We will be back, and have already been recommending to our family and friends! So relaxing. Walking distance to everything.

Nothing to not like.

We were welcomed by Paula who showed us to our beautiful bedroom which had balconies facing the front and back of the property. There was a spa on the back facing balcony along with a table and chairs on both. The bed was large and very comfortable. We had a wonderful breakfast, cereals, fruit & yogurt as well as a cooked breakfast. We were able to park in the grounds. Stephen and Paula made us feel very welcome. We wouldn't hesitate in recommending their guest house and we would return if we passed this way again.

Avon Terrace Guest House more than exceeded my expectations! It's a beautifully appointed and charming historical building. It is exceedingly clean, and everything, from the tissues in the bathroom to the luxurious bedding, is of the highest quality. There are special touches like extra toiletries should you have forgotten anything. Our hosts made us feel very welcome and comfortable, and the highlight of our day was the absolutely delicious caramel fried banana hot porridge! We enjoyed the beautiful view from the back balcony as well as the big spa and leisure area on it. Everything is within walking distance in this lovely little town. I can't wait to return to this guest house!

The fact that we only stayed two days!

We enjoyed a two night stay at the Avon Terrace Guest House and it was absolutely fabulous. The hosts Paula and Stephen were so welcoming and friendly. The accommodation was very comfortable and beautifully furnished with high quality bed linen and super fluffy towels. It has an excellent location in the very heart of York. We had two fantastic breakfasts each morning - the porridge with caramelised banana was a real treat followed by bacon and eggs. It really set us up for the day. The property has so much history and we loved hearing all about it's very colourful past. And if all this wasn't enough it has a great spa bath on the balcony! We highly recommend the guest house and would like to thank Paula and Stephen for such an wonderful stay.

Right from the phone call telling us our room was ready up to the moment we left, hosts Paula & Stefan were amazing. Gorgeous guest house, our room was immaculate & comfortable, we enjoyed brilliant hospitality & a delicious home cooked breakfast. We enjoyed the spa upstairs on the balcony, overlooking the treetops & spire of nearby church with the pond & gardens below. Can't recommend this place enough. Charming guest house & like the rest of York, has an interesting past. Right in the heart of town & a stones throw from pubs & local sites, short walk to Residency Museum, everything right there. Fantastic!!

Nothing. Loved it.

The guest house was simply excellent. The room was faultless. The hospitality was excellent. The location was right in the heart of York. We simply walked next door for dinner. Our vehicle was safely kept on the premises. And York was a good distance away from Perth to escape the frenetic pace.

Are struggling to think of anything - perhaps it took a while for the hot water to come through when having a shower

We loved the decor and furnishings in our comfortable large bedroom that reflected the elegant decor of the guest house. Both Stevan and Paula welcomed us warmly and we had beautifully cooked breakfasts. The dining area has a bar and drinks available for guests. The walls have quirky, funny retro 1950s poster style pictures that are entertaining to read.

We loved everything.
