Location was great. We had problems accessing the property and contacting booking.com and the owner. The external areas were not impressive. Tables and chairs were filthy, covered in dust. After more than two hours waiting to access the room, we managed to talk to the owner, Cherie. She was apologetic and said booking.com had not notified her of our reservation. Anyway, all was sorted and the inside of the place was very different from outside. Good sized room with comfortable bed, sofa, table & chairs, a wardrobe, small kitchen, air con and a large wet room.

Contact was unimpressive. Externally the property looked neglected and dirty.

Did not take part of the breakfast, did realise there was a breakfast included. I’ll look closer next time at the weekend stay, Thank you for providing the iron & ironing board on request. Beautiful hot water for our showers, something that’s important we going away.

The Towels were very hard , my husband likes them that way, however I like mine softer. I usually pack heaps of coat hangers when travelling, unfortunately this time I didn’t, would have been good to have been provided just a couple in the room. The rooms are so quiet & peaceful. Love it.

The close proximity to the township, this place is definitely in walking distance to everything. The room was just perfect and the bed was suuuuuper comfy. We loved the double head in the shower as well, that was an awesome surprise. Also there is the sock factory behind here and very worth the visit :) I am partial to lilac and rosemary, plenty of both around. The host, Cherie was unable to be at the property on our arrival, but she did send a very detailed, lovely and welcoming message explaining where our room was, where to park and the self check in and wishing us a great stay. We would definitely recommend staying at this little gem. Don't forget to visit Nguyen's Bakery, the staff are super friendly and they make a mean Iced Coffee to go with the delish sausage roll. Also the Motor Museum is another surprising gem to see. Take a pizza, or picnic up to the lookout for sunset, you won't be disappointed. If you need to recharge your batteries, this little town is the place to do it (the historical buildings are just beautiful) and the Lavender House is the place to lay your head. In fact, true to word, the whole town is friendly, like we were old mates :)

Excellent location on main street in York .Very clean, nice bathroom ,good fully working facilities, ( air con, wi fi,hot water / dual shower ) charming with lovely verandah to sit on ( room2) overlooking the garden . Very comfortable bed . Prompt communication by hosts and very accommodating hosts letting us keep car parked until lunch time whilst we went round motor museum before leaving . Would recommend .

Lavender House is a fantastic place to stay so comfortable and in a perfect part of York in the main street but not to close to the centre of town to be to noisy. It's the perfect place to stay on your next visit to York the rooms are fabulous and the grounds are beautiful

Everything so easy and accessible a great place to stay so quiet and the rooms are perfect

We were in Room 4 and it was self check in. It was very spacious, clean and well located. All of the usual things you would find I'm a Hotel/Motel room but just that little bit better standard, example, room had an 80cm TV mounted on the wall. Right next to a breakfast cafe and minutes from everything York has to offer I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again.

That we only stayed 1 night

The location was perfect, close to town to walk and have coffee or our evening meal. There was no road noise or other outside noise while inside the room. The room was private. The parking was great for our car, we felt safe and relaxed. The room/ bathroom was beautiful and clean, the sheets and covers on the bed was amazing. The amenities were up to modern, including the soft light in the bathroom. The furniture in the room fulfilled all our requirements.

Presentation of facility was excellent. Very Suitable for partner and I for overnight stay. Location perfect, walked over road for dinner at hotel. Spacious, clean with a huuggeeee TV. Roomy bathroom. Bed was so comfy. Undercover parking. Easy access. Would recommend and stay again. Thank you

Our hosts had great communication and were very accommodating when we needed to make changes. The gardens were so pretty! The room was lovely and clean. It was convenient for a wander around York

The kitchenette was difficult to work in - not.much space! The whole floor in the bathroom got very wet when you showered.

Friendly owners, they weren’t there when we arrived but we got good instructions. The accommodation is in the little city centre which is perfect. Good stay for a stopover on your roadtrip. Comfortable bed and nice shower.

Everything was clean except for the fridge, it was a little dirty. However would come back
