I was wary about booking this place because of some reviews complaining about disturbances and noise. But I went ahead booking it because there was nothing else near or far within our price range. Well, it turned to be one of the quietest hotel I have ever been to in my life. True, we were there during Christmas, and we could see hardly anyone on the streets and there weren't too many guests in hotel, either, but it was the opposite of what these negative reviews suggested beforehand. The town itself is also a delight with its buildings built by the settlers. The room was spacious, we actually got two adjoining rooms for the average price of 1 room elsewhere. It was also clean, the beds were comfortable, and free amenities were provided.

Spacious room with TV, fridge, microwave, kettle, toaster, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, plates, cutlery, everything. Check in was easy. Receive a texted code to open the locked box on the door. No reception but cleaners are on site. Very quiet and location was perfect. Plenty of parking. Very clean and bed lovely. Double story oldish Federation style property with many units which share common balconies.

Window didnt click shut properly so not quite secure. Could hear the people in the next unit as walls are thin.

We went to York for a wedding held on 12 April at your Hotel. The facilities were lovely and so historic. The reception was great. Your wait staff and the ladies attending at the Bar were exceptional. Very professional, friendly and all the staff seemed to be very happy working together harmoniously and making all the guests feel very welcomed.

The uneven paving bricks in the courtyard were a bit dangerous for us old folks.

The hotel section is accommodation only, right in the middle of town, so a great location. Settlers dining room/bar is a separate building in front of the accommodation, right on the main street. Ensuite rooms were comfortable with a mini bar fridge for snacks and drinks. I have stayed in a lot of country WA accommodation and Settlers is 'top quartile'. Some good quality, quirky breakfast options along the main street.

Just a couple of minor things. Lots of yesteryear furniture in room so a little cluttered, but did not detract from stay. Half the rooms are upstairs and no elevator, book wisely. Don't think staff are on site, communication handled remotely, but no issues.

The hotel is a check yourself in set up. No staff on site but easy to do. The rooms were spotless, the bed linen and towels were lovely. They have a toaster, kettle, microwave, plates and cutlery in each room. The location is fantastic - straight out of the room onto the Main Street with restaurants, shops and cafes. Despite being so central it was whisper quiet. Aircon in room was fantastic as were the windows for ventilation. If you have mobility issues, be sure to request a ground floor room as the stairs to first floor are quite steep.

Everything! We stayed in the Deluxe Family Room which was absolutely perfect for our stay as we were staying with my 11 year old step son. He loved the fact he had his own separate room with ensuite and temperature control and that we were only an adjoining door away if he needed anything. Room was clean, comfortable and spacious with tea and coffee facilities, toiletries and comfortable (and additional) bedding and with temperature control in both rooms it ensured we had a comfortable stay. Spa bath was an additional and surprising bonus! Communication with the hotel was seamless and easy and we received instructions which were easy to follow prior to arrival. We couldn't recommend Settlers Hotel York enough and is definitely the best accommodation in the area. Rooms are extremely affordable and go above and beyond what we were expecting. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend to our family and friends. Thank you for an amazing stay.

There wasn't anything we didn't like. Check in was seamless and easy and we received confirmation with codes prior to arriving.

The room was lovely and clean and a great size for two adults. Facilities in the room were great, with a microwave, toaster, kettle and some crockery/ cutlery too. I think we may have been upgraded as we had a spa bath in our bathroom also. Didn't use it, but it looked clean and modern. Would definitely stay here again.

There is no reception, you will get send a code to get your key from a lockbox on the day of arrival. Was a little tricky finding my room to start with, but no big deal, figured it out easy enough.

This is a great value option for anyone staying in York. The room was larger than expected and well appointed. The hotel is well located to the main street of York, and some good options to find food are in easy walking distance.

No microwave which is needed. Toilet paper terribly thin ! No soap in bathroom ( bought our own) Air con was noisy , particularly at night.

The room allocated to me had a very noisy airconditioning unit, which sounded like a cement mixer, a quick phone call got the room changed immediately. The key box system works very well, you just enter a 4 digit pin into the keypad to access the room key, far more convenient than having to park up, find reception then find your room.

Location signage is poor and difficult to find on any satnav system as the facilities are located behind a hotel sharing a similar name, a quick phone call to the venue sorted it out.
