The location was awesome, able to walk to many great places. We had a sea view which was wonderful. The pool area was great and the room was clean and spacious with loads of areas to store things.

Would have appreciated easier access to pool and bath towels. Staff was nice but would have appreciated a higher level of service by the hotel restaurant staff. Poolside service would go a long way. Also, after seated for breakfast, we waited for staff to set menus and silverware on every table in the empty place before even offering us coffee.

The location was close to the beach, clean and on-site restaurant was bonus. Most of the staff were pleasant. It was safe and pool was clean. The apartment was efficient and spacious.

The wait time to access the apartment was ridiculous and inconvenient (this was past the check in time). The first woman at the concierge was very abrupt. Hôtel tried to compensate for the inconvenience with a complimentary bottle of wine. The bathroom sink was backing up had to call maintenance (quick fix). The beach in front of the hotel is not for swimming, but beautiful to view from the balcony. Be prepared to hear loud music from nearby bars (it’s a busy area) late at night.

The view was incredible--a clear view of St. Lawrence Bay from the balcony. I loved opening my eyes in the morning and seeing the crystal blue water. The location was great, easily accessible to many beaches, restaurants and surf breaks. The staff were also very nice. The room itself was updated, spacious and clean. I was worried about the noise, being in St. Lawrence Gap, but I heard the waves more than anything else.

This is just Barbados in general, but outside of The Gap is not super walkable. It's a busy road and narrow (or nonexistent) sidewalks if you want to walk north to Accra or Rockley Beaches and the boardwalk.

Little noisy at weekends from neighbouring bars and restaurants but not that bad. Maybe some shutters on the windows and balcony door would help - the back bedroom wasn’t as noisy . Some of the staff in the bar were lovely but some were quite miserable so that could be sorted out !

The room was comfortable and big, the bed was very comfortable. We were on the fourth floor overlooking the bay which was just across the road. On some mornings you could see turtles in the bay surfacing for air. The location was good for the restaurants, bars and beaches. Only downside was a club just up the road which went on to 3 in the morning which could be a little noisy.

The friendliness of the staff was amazing. You felt like you were staying with friends. The room we got had been recently renovated and was very modern, with air conditioning and lots of space. The pool area is also lovely and you can see the waterfront across the road. Lots of great restaurants in the area, as well as onsite.

It can get a bit hot in the reception/ bar area, as there is no air conditioning, just ceiling fans. However, it helps you adapt to the climate.

We hardly eat breakfast, so cannot comment. Entire staff was friendly and considerate. The room was spacious with a full kitchenette and adequate bathroom. Location was convenient, although one had to be careful when driving out of the property because it's so close to the entrance of the gap.

One had to fiddle a bit with the key to lock the door, but this was minor. There was a little concern about security since the property is rather open and anyone could just walk straight in without any hindrance. However, security personnel were always around. Finally, the front office is a somewhat cramped space.

Our last accommodation of four on De Island - saved the best till last. Lovely hotel, with all rooms overlooking the sea, a few yards away. Our room was spacious, clean, extremely well kept, light and comfortable. Location is fantastic for beaches, restaurants and bars - loved walking along the Gap. Very friendly and helpful staff throughout - had a minor maintenance issue, resolved promptly. We would definitely stay here again on our next visit to Barbados.

Being at Lawrence Gap, there are lots of lively bars and clubs nearby which could affect some people's view of the hotel, but it didn't affect us.

View from the balconies wonderful. The colour of the sea is the most beautiful blue. location excellent- shallow (fairly) calm sea just over the road- excellent for messing around in the sea. It would be great for children. Staff excellent- we had some problems (attempted scam) before arrival- contacted hotel and got an immediate e-mail reply and warning. NB- the scam seems to be associated with bookings through Booking.com

limited chairs (and room) around pool, although beach-chairs exceptionally comfortable. Music in bar too loud for us (but we are old and not deaf).

Great and clean rooms. Amazing staff members, very friendly and very helpful. Thank you so much! From the balcony you can see the crystal clear water and the sunset. With little luck you could see the turtles over there. And really great is the hospitality-room: If you are having a late flight you can check out, leave the luggage at the front desk, go to the beach, pool or anywhere and before you leave you could use this room for free to get a shower and get ready for the flight.
