We have stayed in the Chateau before and decided to try the Manoir, it is approx 300m up the hill from the main hotel. The setting and the Manoir it-self are very quiet because it is just rooms only. Although in reception there is a self serve coffee machine which once I worked out how to operate it, it was well used first thing in the morning, fortunately we took milk with us as there was none available.

Not that we didn't like these aspects, we enjoyed our trip, but useful to know if you are planning a stay. There is no reception, you have to check-in at the Chateau down the hill, and if you drive make note it is a one-way system around the hotel. Breakfast, evening meals & drinks bar are based dawn in the hotel "Chateau du Lac". Also there is no lift in the Manoir, fortunately I am fit & able, but even so hauling 2 x suitcases up four flights of steps which are quite steep is not for everyone.

Not the first time I am going to this place. Everything was as expected. Rooms are comfy and everything which should be expected, coffee, aminities, etc... is available. Breakfast was good, however this time we had to wait as we came after a bus of Asian tourists left. Personally, this was not a big deal for me. The location is perfect to me, by car you can get everywhere easily. The look at the lake is relaxing. Price/service/quality ratio is simply unbeatable.

The heating airco was irregular, it was difficult to get a correct temperature.

The location is lovely and the hotel, staff and food is perfect. Nice restaurants nearby as well.

I thought I'd booked the manor, but they had relocated me to the chateau and they said I should have had an email but I didn't see it, so I parked at the manor, was told to check in at the chateau so walked down in the pouring rain, only to be told I was now staying at teh chateau so had to walk back in the pouring rain to get my car and luggage. Then was woken up at 6.45 (5.45 UK time) by someone using the gym near my room dropping weights and the thudding of feet running on a treadmill. So that could have been better.

We booked in the Manor, but were upgraded into the main hotel at the last minute, which was a pleasant surprise. We originally booked one night an tacked an extra night on. It was the last 2 days of our summer road trip holiday. I stay at Martin's Chateau du Lac 1-3 times per year for a few days. It's a hidden gem in a nice nature area on a man-made lake. If you are looking for rest and a full-service hotel with spa and an excellent restaurant, you will be happy here. The breakfast was excellent as usual with everything you could desire. The spa, especially the steam bath is a personal favourite.

No complaints to be honest. We keep coming back because we really like it.

The Manoir itself is stunning, the room was beautiful, spacious and very comfortable, there is plenty of parking, the area is quiet and peaceful. The breakfast exceeded our expectations, I definitely recommend it.

Unfortunately, the hotel forgot to inform us that the reception is in a completely different building, a 5-7 minute walk from the Manoir. So upon arrival late in the evening, I had to walk in the rain, check in, and walk back. Breakfast was also in the main building, luckily the weather had already improved. There was also difficulty in getting my deposit back. Although the hotel employee sort of did it in front of me using my own card, the deposit was not refunded and it took me several emails to different addresses for them to fix the problem. The communication was pretty confusing and in the end, no one even apologized. So the service could definitely be better.

I was upgraded to Martin’s Chateau du Lac. The staff were excellent, friendly and helpful. The room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel has a lovely location by the lake at Genval, great to walk around. It was about 10 mins walk to the station, the walk is quite steep.

The room was a little tired at the edges, but it didn’t affect the comfort of my stay.

It is great that the hotel is working to operate more sustainably and to reduce the amount of single use plastics generated. But with all its efforts I was mystified that it still uses individual plastic butter/margarine tubs at its breakfast buffet. This is so easy to replace.

I really loved the vintage feel of the Hotel. You really get the feel of a vintage boutique hotel. The room was quite cozy and spacious. It is a great place to stay if you travel with a car.

For people who travel without a car, this hotel could turn out a bit inconvenient. The location was not very convenient as you have to walk down to the Chateau Du Lac for check in and for your breakfast. Good thing is they provide you a shuttle service to get back to your hotel. But that is still inconvenience when you had a long tiring day. I was happy with the housekeeping until I found that one of the mineral water bottle provided for me in my room was not sealed and half used.

Easy and quick booking as well as check-in. The hotel was way above my expectations in all areas. The room was clean, large and well-equipped. The area where the hotel is located is very nice and quite. The breakfast was excellent.

This review is not about the Manoir but about the Château, because I was upgraded at minimal expense. So my glowing tributes are about the elegance and comfort of my room at the Château: the furnishings, the walk-in shower, the excellent pillows (soft and not too thick) and the cocktail imbibed in comfort in the restaurant.

The breakfast was fine with excellent choices. An all too common mistake, however, was the flaccidity of the bacon due to it being covered without access to air.
