We stayed here during Carnaval, so obviously the prices were much higher than usual, especially considering we did not have an ensuite bathroom. At least we had a washbasin in our room, which was a plus. Despite the very high price it seemed worth it to stay here considering the location and having a 'base' which was easy to return to during the day when one felt in need of respite from festivities. Breakfast was delicious and the staff working in the dining room and kitchen were so friendly. Other staff were also very accommodating and helpful. Our only gripe is that the shared vathrooms could have been cleaned more frequently.

The views were breathtaking. Common area was very spacious. Room was small but clean, comfortable and functional; had a small sink. Bathroom outside room was clean and close enough. Breakfast (included in room rate) was decent. Location is safe at Alto da Se’, in the heart of historic center. Staff was eager to please.

Room was sometimes hot with fan only. Closest female bathroom was clean but small; a larger woman would have trouble getting in the shower. Bed sheets are of synthetic fabric (but I asked to change for cotton ones and they did). A few items from breakfast buffet cá be improved, like: French bread and cakes.

Wow what an amazing place to stay! The place is beautiful with wonderful views around. Room was comfortable with good a/c. Good selection of food available at breakfast.

Nobody ever said that you can get tapioca and eggs cooked fresh on request, only discovered this when I saw other people ordering them on the second day. Would be good if they informed you of what’s actually available.

It's a beautiful old convent building at the top of Olinda, the views are stunning and the place is really well run. You only need 1 day MAX in Olinda (there's not a lot to do) so I'd recommend this place as a good base for a night before moving on. The place is austere but kept very clean.

Breakfast on my second day wasn't available when I went down at 9:30am - they advertised it to be open until 10:00am.

The location is so gorgeous—views from the terraces, the lovely interior courtyards (especially in the evenings), the beautiful flowers, the interesting chapel. Unlike what some others have said, I also found the staff universally polite and friendly because I learned basic Portuguese before coming to their country. Breakfast was varied—not particularly delicious but it had a lot of hot and cold choices. Rooms were quite basic but this seemed appropriate to a historic convent—and the AC was appreciated for sleeping!

The room smelled rather moldy, which must be a hazard in this very humid climate. It diminished over the week. And I did have to ask to have trash removed—but then they cheerfully did it immediately.

Lovely historic building with very nice & friendly reception staff . The location was quiet and had panoramic views. If you had a car it also had a good car park. The double rooms are clean, basic and bathroom a bit small , but is functional for a day of two..

The double rooms are basic and would be too small for longer stays than a couple of days. The breakfast was nice but the quality of the coffee and drinks could be improved and fruit choice increased. The breakfast is quickly removed at 10.00 without asking the guests eating if they need to take any thing before removed . Sheets & bedding are not 100% cotton. The was no safe facilitiy in the room but the hotel had a guard on duty at all times, which was reassuring .

with a positive surprise with my stay in this historical convent. Though modest, the level of service well exceeded my expectations. not only is the price attractive, the rooms are simple, but spotlessly clean and comfortable. the environment is outstanding as you would expect from a beautiful building of that quality. Rooms come without individual bathrooms. However, shared bathrooms were spotlessly, clean, and correctly equipped. They come without air-conditioning, but with a large ventilator that delivers the exact temperature and comfort you want in your room. I decided extending two nights.

Beautiful hotel, historic Convento on the top of hill. Room is simple but clean. Breakfast buffet is great. They even make brazil traditional food Tapioca. Perfect location. In historic zona, has astonishing view. close to everything. All staffs are so nice. Especially security guard Marcilio. He troduced us the history of this Convento, helped us to order delivery food to enjoy the view in it's own restaurant.

It seems they don't clean shared restrooms everyday. so some of them are dirty.

Loved that it was located in Olinda

Not great when it's very warm days, i had to keep my door open at night to air out the room because the fan wasn't removing the heat from the room itself. The bathrooms could've been maintained better, but was decent for the most part.
